Chapter 11

She said that gentlemen would not come to a slave's house for no reason. Her eyes are not very good, but she still fumbled to polish a handful of copper teapots to make them shine.

The first room we visited was the torture room.First of all, leather whips, raw cowhide, cooked cowhide, rattan, gold thread woven into it, and so on.These things were rewarded to the executioners by the Maiqi chieftains in the past dynasties.Further down are all kinds of knives, each of different sizes and shapes is not for looking good, but has its own magical effect on various parts of the human body.Wide and thin, it is especially suitable for a person's neck.Narrow and long, it is easy to pass through the ribs and reach the hot organs inside. The kind that is more curved than a crescent moon is suitable for dealing with a person's knee. There's a lot more to come.Like a spoon for digging out eyes.Another example is a kind of dental tray, which can cure dental diseases, but it can also make people lose all their teeth at once.Such things filled a whole room.

Solan Zelang likes these things very much.He said to Xiao Eryi: "It's so enjoyable to be able to kill people casually."

Xiao Eryi said: "Killing people is very painful. Those people violated the law, but they are not the enemies of the executioner." Xiao Eryi glanced at me and said in a low voice, "Besides, some of the people who were killed were wronged. .”

"How do you know?" I asked.

The future executioner of Maiqi's family replied: "I don't know, I haven't killed anyone yet.

But the elders say yes. He pointed upstairs again, and said, "I heard that you can also know it from those clothes." "

Those clothes were in an attic of the executioner's house. The attic was added later to store the clothes of the dead.A single wooden staircase leads to the top.In front of the stairs, Xiao Eryi's face was even paler than before: "Master, we should not go up?" I was also afraid, so I nodded. But Suo Lang Zelang shouted: "Master! Are you scared or stupid? You don't even look at the door, I won't play with you anymore."

He said I was stupid, and I think he was stupid too. He thought he could play with me if he wanted to, and he wouldn't play if he didn't want to.I said to him: "Keep this sentence in my mind first. You must know that you are not playing with me, but serving me."

I'm glad he took that and stayed there.Open a silly mouth wide open.Xiao Eryi stood beside me blankly.

I whimpered, and Xiao Eryi climbed up the ladder with a pale face. The high end of the ladder was placed at the door of the attic. There is an incantation to seal the door written down by a lama on the door. The spell was sprinkled with gold dust, which glistened in the sun.I climbed up on my heels. My head touched Xiao Eryi's feet.Xiao Eryi turned around and said, here we are.He asked me if I really wanted to open it.He said that maybe there were some wronged souls, and they would come out in that case.Suolang Zelang scolded Xiao Eryi from the bottom, saying that he looked like a wronged soul.I looked at Xiao Eryi and felt that Suo Lang Zelang was right, he really looked like that.

Xiao Eryi said to me: "I am not afraid, I am afraid that something will hurt the young master."

Of the two boys, one is bold and the other can talk. The bold one is defiant, and the courage to be considerate is a little less courageous.I just had to like both. The executioner's house is on a small hill.It is lower than Tusi's house, but higher than other houses.Standing on the single-plank stairs, I saw a large field below. It was autumn, and a large group of wild pigeons were circling and flying. We were now on top of these flying flocks.I saw the river go far to the horizon.

I said, "Open!"

Xiao Eryi took off the lock on the door.I heard Solang Zelang panting heavily like me.Only Xiao Eryi was still quiet, and said in a whisper-like voice: "I'm open." As soon as his hand touched the small door, the door creaked open.A gust of cold wind hit our faces, and I, Xiao Eryi, and Suolang Zelang all shivered. The three of us walked in, huddled between the sunlight streaming in from the door. The clothes were hung one by one on the fir poles across the room, with their arms hanging down, as if many people had fallen asleep standing up.There were faint blood stains on the collar of the clothes, which had turned black. The clothes are all good clothes. It's what people wear during festivals. The condemned person puts on the good clothes, then dies, and stays in the world after being stained with blood.I lifted one with otter trims, expecting to see a shriveled face inside, but saw only a dim gleam of satin lining.Solan Zelang boldly put on a piece of clothing and nothing happened.

Nothing out of the ordinary happened, which was very disappointing.

On the way back, we saw a figure appearing on the mountain pass to the east. Then, a figure appeared from the mountain pass to the west. The two boys were waiting to see who was coming. They knew that anyone who passed by the road had to come to the official village.

Those who have money will give money, those who have things will give things, and those who have nothing will also give some happy words called maiqi toast.

Back upstairs, Dolma brought tea, and I asked her to do the same for the two small intestines.Dolma was very upset, and gave me a blank look: "Am I serving tea for the servants?" I ignored her, so she had to put a bowl in front of them and pour hot tea.I heard her yelling at the two guys: "Those who don't know the rules, dare to sit and drink tea in front of the young master! Go, stand by the door and drink!"

At this time, the watchdog outside barked.

Dolma said, "Someone has arrived."

I said, "Here comes the man who will marry you."

She lowered her head and said nothing.

I said again: "It's a pity that I'm not a silversmith."

I wanted to see her face at this moment, but there was a shout from downstairs announcing guests to see her.I leaned on the railing and looked down, and there were two small intestines standing behind me, one on the left and one on the right. On this day, I was wearing a brocade robe with a flower pattern, a water-red belt, and three huge green corals on the waist scabbard. The guest saw me as soon as he looked up, and raised his hand to me.Later, father, later, elder brother, later, mother, Maiqi Tusi's family all came out of the room.No one greets us like this, but I still know that the person is greeting me, so I still waved my hand at him.

When someone came upstairs, the Maiqi family was already waiting in the house, ready to receive guests.

The guests come in.

I think I saw a monster.Although this man was wearing a loose Tibetan robe, his eyes were blue, and he took off his hat to reveal his golden hair again. He was sweating on the road and smelled bad.I asked my brother if he was a monster. He said into my ear, "Westerners."

"Sister is in such a country?"

"more or less."

It is our words that come and speak. But it still sounds weird, not like our words, but like their Westerners' words. He sat there talking and talking, and finally made the Maggie family understand that he came from England in a house floating on the sea.He took a chime bell from the donkey's back as a gift to the chieftain. There were such things in both mother's and father's rooms. It's just that this one is more beautiful because of the layer of enamel on the surface.

This person has a nice name: Charles.

The chieftain nodded and said, "The names of the Bihan people are like our names."

The young master asked this Charles: "Where are you going when you pass by our territory?"

Charles blinked his blue eyes and said, "My destination is the territory of Chieftain Maggie."

The chieftain said, "Tell me what benefits you have brought us?"

"I'm here by God's will to evangelize," Charles said.

Next, father and Charles discuss whether God can exist in this land.Preacher is confident about the prospect.Toast Maiqi is skeptical of all this.He asked Charles if his god was Buddha.

The answer is no, but like the Buddha, he also brings happiness to suffering beings.

Toast feels that the difference between the two is too subtle. It's just like the issues that Lama Monba and Jiga Rinpoche argued about when they were competing to see who was more knowledgeable. The issues they debated were: how many yojanas are there for a bodhi tree leaf in the Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha, how many Bodhisattvas who have obtained good fruits can live on such a leaf, and so on.The chieftain was not happy with lamas arguing about such issues. It's not that the cumbersome scholastic philosophy is meaningless, but that it would appear that the chieftain is uneducated.Father said to Charles, who had yellow hair and blue eyes, "You are our guest when you come. You should stay first."

Outside came the smell of using Indian incense to get rid of the musty smell in the room.

The mother high-fives, and the crippled butler enters, leading the guest to the guest room.As everyone was about to leave, I said, "There is another guest. He didn't come with a donkey. He came with a mule."

Sure enough, the dog at the door frantically bit it away again.

My father, mother, and brother all looked at me with special eyes. But I resisted the prickly feeling when they looked at me, and just said, "Look, the guests have arrived."

10. Protestant Grupa
The second uninvited guest was a lama in cassock.

He neatly put the reins on the hitching post in front of the door, and when he went upstairs, his steps were very light, and the purple cassock on his body crackled like a flag unfurling. At this time, there was not even a little wind around. When he went up to the fifth floor, the doors of so many rooms were exactly the same, but the one he opened was the one where someone was waiting for him.

A young and excited face appeared in front of us.

There is some thin sweat on the tip of the nose. His breathing was a little heavy, like a horse that just finished a long run.It could be seen that everyone in the room immediately liked this face.Without even saying hello, he said, "This is the place I'm looking for.

Your place is exactly what I'm looking for! "

The chieftain stood up from his seat: "You've come from far away, you can tell by the boots."

Then the visitor bowed to the chieftain and said, "From the holy city of Lhasa." He was a very enthusiastic guy, and he said, "Give a monk a bowl of tea, a bowl of hot tea. I drank the mountain spring all the way to I came here. I have been looking for this place for more than a year. I have drunk so many mountain springs, sweet, bitter, and salty. No one has ever tasted so many kinds of spring water."

The chieftain interrupted: "You haven't asked us to ask for your dharma name yet."

The person who came patted his head and said, "Look at me, I forgot this when I was happy." He told us that his name is Weng Boyixi, which is the dharma name given by the master when he obtained the Geshe degree.

My brother said, "Are you still a Geshe? We don't have a Geshe yet." Geshe is the highest degree a monk can get. Some people say it means doctor.

The chieftain said: "Look, here comes another learned man. I think you can stay and live in my house or in my temple as you like."

Weng Boyixi said: "I want to establish a new sect here, the great Gelugpa founded by the Supreme Master Tsongkhapa. It will replace those sects that are full of evil views, lax in discipline, and as sinful as the world."

The chieftain said, "What sect did you say it was?"

Weng Boyixi said: "It is under your protection, chieftain, those Nyingmapas, those sects that believe in witchcraft."

The chieftain interrupted the distant guest again, and called the housekeeper: "Smoke a room for the guest with good incense."

The guest actually ordered the housekeeper in front of us: "Ask someone to feed my mule. Maybe your master will ask the mule to leave his territory with the precious gospel."

Mother said, "We have never seen such an arrogant lama like you."

The lama said: "Haven't your Maiqi family not yet become the benefactors of our boundless orthodox church?" Then he calmly retreated from the room.

And I already liked this guy a lot.

But the chieftain didn't know what to do with this Wengboyixi who came from the holy city.

As soon as he arrived, Lama Menba went to the temple of Living Buddha Jiga. The chieftain said, it seems that Weng Boyixi is really a person with a background, and he brought the two enemies together. So they called someone to invite him.Weng Boyixi came. The chieftain put an exquisite cushion in front of him and said, "Originally, seeing how worn your boots are, I should have given you a pair of boots, but I'll give you a cushion instead."

Weng Boyixi said: "I would like to congratulate Chieftain Maiqi. Once you have a connection with the Holy City, your family's inheritance will truly become the eternal inheritance."

"You wouldn't say no to a bowl of light bar," said the toast.

Ong Boisi said, "I refuse."

The chieftain said: "The lamas here will not refuse."

"So the world needs this new sect of ours," said Onboisi, with a shining forehead.

In this way, Weng Boyixi lived in our house. The chieftain did not promise him any special powers, but only allowed him to develop his followers freely.Originally, he hoped that the chieftain would expel the old sect and hand over the parishioners and place to him.The fanatical lama remembered only his master's teachings and his dreams of traveling to a new region to spread the teachings.

Generally speaking, lamas, no matter whether they are new sects or old sects, have foretelling dreams before setting up a diocese in a region. Not long after Ong Boyisi obtained the highest degree of Geshe, he had this kind of dream. In a small loess monk's house in Lhasa, he dreamed of a valley open to the southeast. This valley is shaped like a conch shell, and the sound of running water in the river is like all living beings chanting Buddha's name.He went to the master to realize his dream. The master is a person who has a strong interest in politics, and he is receiving some major from England. He talked about the dream, and the master said, you are going to the farming mountain pass area close to the Han people. In the valleys in those places, people's hearts are all facing southeast. He knelt down and vowed to build many temples of his sect in that valley. The master awarded him nine classics of the school. When the Englishman heard that he was going to a place close to the Han area to spread the teachings, he gave him a mule, and he said that it was an English mule.Whether a mule must also come from England, Umboisi did not know.

But on the way, he knew it was a good mule.

The chieftain said, go find your parishioners yourself.

And who will be his first disciple?Among the four people he saw, the chieftain was not like him, the wife of the chieftain also looked absent-minded, and the youngest son of the chieftain had his mouth wide open, not knowing whether he was focused or stupid.Only the chieftain's eldest son smiled at him.One day, when my brother was about to ride out his horse, Weng Boyixi grabbed his reins. He said to the future chieftain: "I have hope for you, you belong to tomorrow just like me."

Unexpectedly, my brother said: "Don't do this, I don't believe in your set of things.

I don’t believe in you, and I don’t believe in other lamas either. "

This sentence surprised Weng Boyixi too much. For the first time in his life he heard a man boldly declare that he did not believe in the Supreme Dharma.

The young master rode his horse and ran away.

Weng Boyixi discovered for the first time that the air here was also wrong. He smelled the aroma of refining opium. The smell is both comforting and dizzying at the same time. This is a smell worse than the temptation of the devil. He kind of understood what kind of place that dream had led him to.Without making a little achievement, he can't go back to the holy city.

He let out a long sigh, which was deep and long, showing that he had deep yoga skills.

Wengboyixi didn't notice that Lama Menba came behind him, otherwise he wouldn't have sighed quietly like that.Lama Monpa laughed out loud.Weng Boyixi knew it was the monk's laughter without turning his head.He could tell that although this person wanted to show his deep inner strength, the first breath was okay, but the next breath showed flaws.

Lama Menba said: "I heard that there are people from the new sect here. I just wanted to meet for a while, but I didn't expect to meet here."

Weng Boyixi told an allusion.

Lama Monpa also told an allusion.

The previous allusion means that the meeting for a while is the meaning of mana competition.

The latter allusion is that if everyone can compromise, they will coexist peacefully.

In the end, they couldn't talk together, so they turned their backs to each other and walked.

The next day, he tied the key to the guest room around his waist and went down to the countryside to preach.

In the room, Charles told Mrs. Toast a story about a man who was born in a manger.Sometimes I went in to listen to a few words, and knew that the man had no father.I said, that is the same as Solang Zelang.Mother spat on me.One day, Dolma came out of the room crying. I asked her who had bullied her. She swallowed and said, "He is dead. The Romans crucified him."

I walked into the room and saw my mother was wiping her eyes with a silk handkerchief. That Charles had a look of triumph on his face.He put a portrait on the windowsill. The man didn't even have any clothes on his body, revealing countless bones.I think he's the man in the story that made the two women cry.He was hung up like a sinner, with a nail in the palm of his hand, and blood trickled down from there.I thought his blood was running out, otherwise his head wouldn't be hanging on his chest like a broken neck bone, so I couldn't help laughing.

Charles said, "Lord, it is disrespectful to know. Forgive this ignorant man. I will make him your lamb."

I said, "Who is bleeding?"

"My Lord Jesus."

"What can he do?"

"To endure suffering for others, to redeem people from the sea of suffering."

"This person is so pitiful, who else can he help?"

Charles shrugged his shoulders and said no more.

He got the chieftain's permission to search for all kinds of stones in the mountains and plains. He brought us news that Umboisi lived in a cave, and preached gentle teachings and strict precepts.Charles said: "I would say that he was a good monk. But you don't accept good things. So I am not surprised that he is treated with cold hands by you and ridiculed by your people. So, you agree to collect a little I am content with the ore."

This guy is getting more and more stones.

Lama Menba said to the chieftain: "This man will take away our precious treasure."

The chieftain said: "If you know where the treasure is, go and see it. If you don't know, don't tell me to worry about it."

Lama Monpa had nothing to say.

The chieftain asked Jiga Tulku about this. The Living Buddha said: "That's what the wizard said. His knowledge doesn't include such content."

The chieftain said: "You know, when the time comes, I will rely on your new school, which is neither too old nor too new."

The Living Buddha didn't really believe what the chieftain said, and said flatly, "It's nothing more than a heart-to-heart."
