After a couple quarreled and sneered at each other, the wife whimpered and said, "I was wrong. If I had listened to my mother, I would not have ended up like this today."

The husband was surprised: "Why? Your mother opposed our marriage at the beginning?"

"She not only objected, but also obstructed in every possible way!"

"If I knew this earlier, I should have treated her well back then!"
