Chapter 21 The Picked Up Fox

Saying goodbye to Zhiqing, Hao Mei reluctantly followed Shangguanran and walked down the mountain.

For some reason, the originally long mountain road seemed to be shortened.Hao Mei lowered her head and said nothing, wondering what she was thinking.

Shangguan didn't care about her, but his pace slowed down a lot.

"I can't walk anymore." Hao Mei sat on the ground like a fool, pouted and looked at Shangguanran in front of her.

"Then let's have a rest." He didn't say anything, and turned to sit beside Hao Mei, with a gentle smile and a bit of doting in his eyes.

Hao Mei lowered her head in embarrassment, and her whole face turned red up to her ears.

"What's wrong?" Shangguan asked suspiciously, not understanding why she had such a reaction.

"It's okay." She said coquettishly, turning her eyes to one side.

Suddenly, a snow-white figure appeared in front of him.

She froze for a moment, then stared at the figure closely, stood up and approached it cautiously.

"Fox!" She exclaimed in a low voice, for fear of disturbing it accidentally.

Shangguan Ran followed behind and quickly grabbed Hao Mei, saying something very vigilant.

Hao Mei's whole attention was focused on the fox that appeared suddenly, and regardless of his reminder, she bent over and approached the little fox cautiously.

The fox rolled his eyes twice in a very humane way, and stepped back in fear, but his body was slightly tilted, and he fell to the ground after only taking two steps, as if he was injured.

This made Hao Mei sure that the fox was not in danger, and at the same time, her sympathy began to flood in an instant, and she approached the fox regardless of Shangguanran's reminder.

However, the fox was not very willing to accept Hao Mei's kindness, and retreated with his head shrunk, his eyes rolled twice, which seemed to be hostile.

"Hey, I didn't mean anything malicious. You can see that you're hurt. Just lie there and don't move. My sister is holding you." Hao Mei lowered her voice as much as possible to make her words sound softer.

The little fox moved his body twice, looking at Hao Mei with some doubts, but this time he didn't retreat.

Shangguanran was still worried about letting Hao Mei touch this unknown rabbit, so he stretched out his hand and tugged at her clothes, signaling her not to be impulsive, but Hao Mei naturally ignored it.

The little fox also noticed his existence, turned his big eyes twice and ignored Hao Mei, and jumped into his arms.

Seeing this, Hao Mei opened her mouth wide in surprise, and looked at Shangguanran with wide eyes. There was a bit of dissatisfaction in her eyes. She also knew that she was indeed a bit scary, but she didn't react like this, and touched him resentfully. Touching his nose and curling his lips, he didn't say much.

Shangguanran smiled unnaturally, and lowered his head to look at the fox in his arms. It felt soft and comfortable to the touch.

For some reason, this fox's eyes always gave him a familiar feeling, as if he had seen it a long time ago, but this feeling was not obvious, it was more like an illusion.

Seeing Shangguan Ran like this, Hao Mei curled her lips, turned her head rather dissatisfied, turned around and walked down the mountain without saying hello to him.

"Wait for me!" Shangguan Ran's innocent voice sounded behind him, but it made Hao Mei quicken her pace.

She still remembered a little of the way back, and all the weird events that happened along the way were still fresh in her memory, but Hao Mei didn't think much about it.

"The fox is for you. I really didn't know it would jump on me." Shangguanran looked at Hao Mei with an innocent expression, and put the fox in front of her, his whole face flushed.

"Hmph!" Hao Mei tilted her head in disdain.

For some reason, Hao Mei always felt that this fox was spiritual and hostile to herself.

Maybe he was thinking too much, but as soon as he saw Shangguanran holding it, he felt extremely upset.

Shangguanran was also very helpless, this fox was injured, he would definitely not leave it here to fend for itself, it would be against his conscience to do so.

Hao Mei also thought the fox was very cute. Although she felt unhappy, she didn't say anything, but basically she didn't say a few words to Shangguanran along the way.

Strange to say, the way back was not wrong, but everything on the way was completely different from when we came.

Hao Mei's memory is not bad, so she can say with certainty that everything has changed.

But when I went back to ask Shangguan Ran, he still had that coy look, and he couldn't explain why after talking for a long time.

Either way, you can always go back.

Every time she took a step, she would scold Hades several times in her heart, if it wasn't for him, she wouldn't have come here to experience such unimaginable and strange things.

Come to think of it, Hao Mei's psychological endurance is strong enough, if not for this, she would not be able to live normally in such a strange environment.

"Boom!" A thunderclap suddenly sounded from mid-air.

Hao Mei froze for a moment, then froze instantly, raised her head to look at the sky, and the dark clouds were already rapidly approaching her.

It is going to rain!

"Are you okay?" Shangguanran walked to her side and asked with great concern.

Hao Mei shook her head, her eyes fell on the fox in his arms, and the unknown anger in her heart was raised again, she opened her eyes and stared at him fiercely, and then snorted coldly in what she thought was a very cold attitude.

Seeing that it might rain at any time in this weather, now is not the time for her to be angry here, so she involuntarily quickened her pace, raised her head and tilted her neck to look into the distance.

A dilapidated temple could be vaguely seen in front of her, Hao Mei thought to herself, "That's great" and then walked towards it with quicker pace.

Speaking of which, although my luck has always been bad, every critical moment will be resolved easily, and this time is no exception.

Naturally, Shangguanran also saw the ruined temple, hugged the fox in his arms, followed behind Hao Mei and couldn't help speeding up his pace.

The distance to the ruined temple was not too far, and she had already arrived there before the rain came down.

This dilapidated temple is not too dilapidated, it is more than enough to shelter from the rain.

"Lanruo Temple?" Hao Mei frowned, looked up at the plaque directly above the ruined temple, opened her mouth in surprise, a Chinese Ghost Story involuntarily appeared in her mind.

Inexplicably, there was a feeling of chills down the spine, as if there was really something special in this ruined temple.

"What's the matter? Why don't you go in?" Shangguan Ran didn't know anything about Nie Xiaoqian's story. He followed Hao Mei's eyes and looked at the plaque strangely. After looking at it for a long time, he didn't find anything special about it.

"Boom!" There was another burst of thunder in the sky, and the cloudy sky also poured heavy rain in an instant.
