Chapter 51 The Queen's Funeral

Chapter 52 The Queen's Funeral

"My lord, the concubine's father, Lord Zhou, and the concubine's brother, General Zhou Pocket Watch, have arrived outside the gate!" A guard reported.

"Please!" Li Hongwen said as he walked out of the mourning hall.

Not long after, Li Hongwen walked in accompanied by a 50-year-old Mr. Zhou with gray temples, thin body and red and swollen eyes, and a powerful and handsome Zhou Huaiqing who was in his early thirties.

Gu Yidie asked Bao'er to kneel on the first filial table beside her.

Elder Zhou went straight to the coffin, looked at An Ning's daughter, couldn't help crying loudly, and patted the coffin with both hands.Zhou Huaiqing shed tears silently, held his head up and closed his eyes, and clenched his fists into hiccups.

"Xinyan! Daughter, why did you leave just like that? Poor child!" The distressed and loving father couldn't wake up the sleeping daughter.

Li Hongwen at the side supported the old man by his arms, said comforting words, and brought the old man to the side hall.

Zhou Huaiqing stared at her sleeping sister for a long time, motionless.None of the servants and deacons in the mourning hall dared to persuade him.Gu Yidie knelt behind Bao'er, sizing up General Zhou.

"Bao'er, get up!" Li Hongwen held Bao'er's hand, and Bao'er looked back at Gu Yidie, followed his father to Zhou Huaiqing, and said, "Brother, please mourn! This is the son of my foreign family." Li Shiqian, nicknamed Bao'er!" He said to Bao'er: "Bao'er, this is the eldest brother of the princess, General Zhou Huaiqing, who is also your uncle, and his name is Big Uncle!"

Bao'er blinked, bowed respectfully, and said, "Bao'er has met uncle!"

Zhou Huaiqing was not surprised at all, and the group helped Bao'er up and said, "No! Good boy!" He nodded to Li Hongwen, so Li Hongwen carried Bao'er and Zhou Huaiqing to the side hall.

Gu Yidie walked to the coffin and looked at the peaceful princess, she couldn't help but shed tears, she hurriedly wiped them away with her sleeves, stopped looking at the princess, walked to the corner alone, and looked at the busy people.

After Bao'er returned to the mourning hall, the mourning hall soon became busy and did not calm down until noon.

Seven days later, on the day when the princess was buried, the grand and pampered funeral procession was only five miles long. Baoer sat in front of the carriage holding the coffin of the princess, while Gu Yidie and Da Neng walked beside the carriage.

The common people who came to live by the stone bridge outside the city stopped in their tracks and looked at the funeral procession coming out of the city gate.Qiao Jiu was standing by the side of the road with her seven-day-old baby in her arms, staring straight ahead.

The funeral procession gradually approached, Qiao Yiyi and Chunling walked to Qiao Jiu's side and looked at the coffin passing by. "Wow!" A baby's cry was mixed with the sound of drums, and few people paid attention to it.

Gu Yidie heard it very clearly, she stopped and looked at the source of the sound.Qiao Jiu was standing five meters away from her, and the mourners passed in front of them, as if time stood still on them.

"Mom!" Bao'er turned her head and called Gu Yidie in a panic. He wanted to jump out of the car, but was grabbed by Da Yong.

"Master Bao, don't worry, Madam will be fine, trust me!" Dayong said, looking back at Gu Yidie.

Bao'er anxiously watched Dayong return to his original position, and kept looking back at Gu Yidie.

Qiao Jiu turned around quietly and left the crowd. Qiao Yiyi inadvertently raised her head and glanced at Gu Yidie in front of her. She was taken aback for a moment, but in a split second, why did she suddenly disappear when she saw a person just now?She searched around busy.

"Strange!" She said to herself, "The person just now looks a little familiar, why do you feel that he has been watching Jiu'er?" She quickly searched for information about that person in her mind.

"That's right! It's him. He has a special big beard. He didn't look like the king of Xiang that day. Why is he here today? Strange!" Qiao Yiyi looked back while thinking.

"Miss Qiao, where is Mr. Qiao going?" Chunling pulled Qiao Yiyi who was talking to herself and asked.

"Ah! Chunling! You go back first, Jiu'er will definitely go back, don't worry, I'll go and have a look!" Qiao Yiyi said and quickly chased after Qiao Jiu.

"Miss Qiao, where are you going?" Chun Ling looked at Qiao Yiyi who had gone away, and sighed softly.Looking back at the funeral procession that had already passed by, she quietly followed.

After the princess was buried, it was already sunset and dusk when the mourners returned to the city.

Everything was quiet, the sky was getting dark, and the candles in front of the princess's tomb had been burned out.Qiao Jiu walked in front of the grave with the baby in his arms.

"Jiu'er, don't think about it anymore! Talk to eldest sister, you haven't said a word for seven days! Talk to me! Jiu'er!" Qiao Yiyi stretched out her arms to hold the baby and looked at the indifferent Qiao Jiu.

"Forget it! Jiu'er, go back with the elder sister! You haven't forgotten what the concubine told you when she was dying, think about this child! She needs you, Jiu'er, wake up!"

Qiao Jiu still stood there blankly, like a stone statue.

Qiao Yiyi accompanied him impatiently. Suddenly, Qiao Yiyi glanced around vigilantly, and there were more than a dozen men in black standing not far from them with swords in their hands.

"Jiu'er!" Qiao Yiyi calmly stared at the man in black.Qiao Jiu was still standing there motionless!Qiao Yiyi impatiently stuffed the baby into Qiao Jiu's arms and hid him behind her.

"Are you Qiao Jiu?" a man in black at the head asked.

Qiao Jiu was silent.

"Who are you?" Qiao Yilin protected Qiao Jiu.He drew out the soft sword at his waist and asked.

"That's right, we are debt collectors!" As the men in black rushed forward, Qiao Yiyi pulled Qiao Jiu and the men in black to circle around.

"Sister, here we come!" The four teenagers quickly joined the fight.

Gu Yidie walked halfway, suddenly panicked, she looked back, she said to Bao'er: "Bao'er, let me go to make it easier, you and Uncle Dayong go back to the palace!"

"Sir!" Bao'er took Gu Yidie's hand.

"Don't worry, I'll be back soon!" After speaking, Gu Yidie turned and walked towards the distant forest.

"Chun Ling, are you alright?" Qiao Yiyi pushed Qiao Jiu away to catch Chun Ling who fell because of Qiao Jiu's sword.

"Chunling, Chunling..." Qiao Yiyi hugged Chunling and covered her wound.

Chunling smiled faintly and closed her eyes.

Qiao Jiu sat on the ground blankly, still indifferent.Qiao Yiyi put down Chunling impatiently, blocked the sword that was stabbing at Qiao Jiu, and tried her best to protect Qiao Jiu's father and daughter.

When Gu Yidie arrived, Qiao Yiyi and her people were all injured, and one person fell down. Gu Yidie was anxious and didn't know what to do!Why did Qiao Jiu not move at all, which puzzled her!But at this moment, no matter what, saving people was the most important thing, so she rushed to Qiao Jiu and grabbed him.

Qiao Jiu shook off her hand.

"What are you doing, Qiao Jiu?" Gu Yidie grabbed him again angrily, and said, "Follow me!"

Qiao Jiu grabbed her hand suddenly and asked, "Is it you? You are finally willing to come to see me!"

Gu Yidie was taken aback, then broke away from his hand, and said, "If you die, I will never forgive you in my life! Qiao Jiu, you have to pay back what you owe me! I won't let you die!"
