Chapter 14

Dear Daddy Long Legs:
The students are all engaged in the intense review, throwing away the holiday just finished. In the past 4 days, I have recited 57 irregular verbs, I hope I have not forgotten them all before the exam.

Many students will sell the textbooks they have read before, but I plan to keep them all. After graduation, I will display the things I have learned on the bookshelf. I can check the details at any time if I don’t understand them. This is easier than keeping everything in my mind. Much more convenient and certainly more accurate.

Julia Pendleton paid a courtesy visit to my dorm tonight and sat for an hour. She talked about her family, but I couldn't interrupt the conversation. She asked my grandmother's family name—did you ever hear anyone ask such a question to an orphan so presumptuously?I didn't have the courage to say "I don't know", so I just made up a Montgomery. She asked if it was the Montgomery family from Massachusetts or the Montgomery family from Virginia?
Her mother's surname is Rudford, a surname that can be traced back to the Ark Age, and was married to Henry VIII.Her sire line began with Adam, and the first line was a group of well-bred apes with moist coats and long tails.

I would have been happy to write you a kind and amusing letter tonight, but I feel too idle and my mind is full of worries.well! It's not easy being a new student!

Judy is preparing to review her homework
