Chapter 32

Dear Daddy Long Legs:
I have long wanted to write to you, thanking you for the check you sent me at Christmas, but life at Macbeth's is so full that I hardly find a moment to sit down at the table.

I bought a piece of clothing that wasn't necessary, just wanted. My Christmas present this year was from Daddy Long Legs and the family sent nothing but love.

I had a wonderful holiday at Sally's.She lived in a big old house, painted white, backing onto the street—exactly the kind of house I used to see at the John Gorier Orphanage and wonder what it was like to live in, and I never Didn't expect to see it with my own eyes - and now, I live here!Everything is so comfortable, comfortable, comfortable and beautiful.I walked around the room, looked at their furnishings carefully, and lost myself in it.

This is the most ideal place to raise children.Shady nooks for hide and seek, fireplaces for popcorn, and lofts for fun and games when it rains. The balustrade was bare, with a comfortably flat handrail at the lower end.The kitchen is spacious and bright, and there is a fat, cheerful cook who has been here for 13 years and often leaves a small piece of bread for the children to bake.Seeing such a scene, I really want to go back to my childhood. As for this family!I never dreamed they were so friendly.Sally has a father, mother and grandmother, a cute 3-year-old little sister with curly hair, a small brother who always forgets to wipe his feet when entering the door, and a tall and handsome brother Jimmy, who is now a Princeton University student. third grade students.

The most wonderful moment is at the dinner table - everyone is joking and no one gives in.It was a relief not to say prayers before meals, not to have to be thankful for every morsel. (I do not have enough respect for the gods, and if you are as thankful as I am, you must feel the same.)
We do too much to know how to tell you.Mr. Macbeth has a factory. On Christmas Eve, he prepared a Christmas tree for the employees' children and put it in the packing workshop. The workshop has been decorated beautifully for Christmas.Jimmy dressed as Santa while Sally and I helped distribute presents.

God, Uncle, it was so enjoyable.I feel as kind as the trustees of the John Gorier Orphanage.I kissed a bunch of scruffy, cute little boys - but I didn't remember to pat their heads!

The day after Christmas they threw a dance at home for me.

This was my first proper prom - the college prom didn't count because I could only dance with girls.I was wearing a brand new white evening dress (your Christmas gift - thank you so much), long white gloves, and lovely white shoes.I was completely blissful, and the only regret was that Mrs. Lippy didn't see me ballroom dancing with Jimmy Macbeth. Please tell her the next time you're at the John Gorier Orphanage.

your forever judy albert
