Chapter 1 Preface
I have wanted to write such a book for several years, but I have not put it into action, mainly because writing a book does not have much practical significance for the author. At the beginning of this year, I suddenly felt a little emotional. I felt that there were not many things in my life that I was able to do, liked to do, and at the same time could help others to some extent. Therefore, I decided to write this book, just to realize my little self. wishes.

I have been engaged in project management consulting and training since 2005. I have contacted many companies and many project managers. I have some understanding of the various problems encountered in the practice of enterprise projects. However, in this book, there is no topic related to "methodology" or "organizational project process". It is more about how to solve some specific problems in China's market environment and corporate culture from the perspective of project managers. and real problems.

Strictly speaking, the more than 50 topics discussed in this book, including some important scenarios, stories, and problems, are all "little truths", but they have very important practical significance for project managers. In China, many projects have problems, not because managers lack knowledge, but because they lack experience in how to "apply", that is, how to "land" Western management methodologies in the Chinese cultural environment.

The project manager is not the boss, but a weak manager with relatively little actual power, but is responsible for the success or failure of the project, so more soft skills are needed to solve various practical problems in the project through communication. This book also attempts to discuss from this perspective. In a certain sense, the topic discussed here is the "survival skills" of project managers.

Project manager is definitely not an easy job, but it is an important accumulation process for individuals. When you feel very difficult and very hard, please believe that one day, these little efforts will be rewarded.
