Yi, Zhenji.Guan Yi, ask for the truth.

"Xu Gua Zhuan" said: "The animals and animals can be raised afterward, so if you eat them, you will feed them."

The shape of the Yi hexagram is like an open mouth, with the upper and lower teeth facing each other, and food enters the body through the mouth to provide nutrition; therefore, it has the meaning of nourishment.Looking at the upper and lower hexagrams separately, the upper hexagram "Gen" means stop, and the lower hexagram "Zhen" means movement. When eating, most of the upper jaw does not move, but the lower jaw is moving;

This "guaci" is an inverted sentence.Observe what a person raises throughout his life?And how did he fill his own stomach and feed himself?You can understand that it must be right to be auspicious.

"Yuan" says: Yi "Zhenji", nourishing upright is also auspicious. "Looking at the Yi" means observing what it nourishes; "seeking for the truth" means observing its self-support.The heaven and the earth nourish all things, the sages nourish the virtuous and all the people, what a great time to eat!

The Yi hexagram, right will be auspicious, it means that raising others and oneself must be right to be auspicious. "Guan Yi" refers to observing what kind of characters he raised? "Self-seeking the truth" means observing how he feeds himself?The heaven and the earth nourish all things, the sages nurture the virtuous, and expand and popularize all peoples. It can be seen that the principle of nurturing according to the current situation is too great!
"Xiang" said: "There is thunder at the foot of the mountain, and it is irritating; a gentleman should be cautious in his speech and eat austerely."In this hexagram, the upper hexagram "Gen" is the mountain, and the lower hexagram "Zhen" is thunder. When the spring thunder shakes at the foot of the mountain, the vegetation on the mountain will sprout and grow, so it symbolizes nurturing.A gentleman should emulate this spirit.Speech is cautious to cultivate virtue; diet is to nourish the body.

Ninth day: Sheer turtle, watch me eat, fierce.

"Elephant" says: "Watch me eat", and it is not expensive. "Turtle" was used for divination in ancient times, and it can go without food or drink for many days, so it is called "spiritual turtle". The original meaning of "Duo" is that the branch is drooping, and "Duoyi" is the image of drooping jaw and opening the mouth to eat. "Er" refers to "the ninth day of the junior high school", and "I" refers to "June [-]th".

"Junior Ninth Day" is masculine, at the lowest position, and is a resolute person in the lower class of society.However, because of his correspondence with the "June [-]th" villain, he developed greed, ready to move, abandoned his own wisdom like a turtle, and opened his mouth blankly, watching the food in other people's hands. "Xiang Zhuan" said: only envious of other people's wealth, do not know how to use their own wisdom, is not enough to be rich.So dangerous.

This line shows the reason why Linyuan is envious of fish, it is better to retreat and make a net.Sixty-two: Dian Yi, brush the sutras in Qiu; Yi, levy fierce.

"Xiang" said: "Six two" "signs evil", and the behavior is out of category. "拍" means violation, "jing" means normal, and "把经" means against common sense.

"Qiu" is a high ground, referring to the "upper" position. "Six Two" is feminine, which symbolizes that a woman cannot live alone, but must be attached to a masculine man.Therefore, "June [-]" seeks support from "Junior Ninth".However, it is against common sense to seek the "Ninth Day" support at the bottom, so I want to seek the "Shang Ninth" support again.However, the status of "Shangjiu" is too high, and it does not correspond to "June [-]", and there is no obligation to support it, so it is dangerous to go there. "Xiang Zhuan" said: "Ninth day of the first day" and "Shang Ninth day" do not correspond to "June [-]nd", and they are not of the same kind. Therefore, there will be no results if you go there.

This line shows that seeking support must follow common sense and not violate principles.Six three: Fu Yi, chaste and fierce, don't use it for ten years, no profit.

"Xiang" said: "Don't use it for ten years", which is a big contradiction. "Six Three" is feminine, neither neutral nor upright.Moreover, in the next hexagram "Zhen" is the highest position of movement, which symbolizes that improper actions have reached the extreme, and any means will be used to achieve the goal.It violates the principle of raising.Because the method of raising is improper, and the purpose of raising is justified, it will be dangerous, so that for a long period of ten years, there will be no support and no benefit. "Xiang Zhuan" said: because it completely violates the truth.

This line shows that proper means must be used to seek support.

June [-]: Dianyi, auspicious, eyeing a tiger covetously, wanting to chase after him, no blame.

"Xiang" said: "The auspiciousness" of "Dianyi" is also the light of Shangshi. "Covetously" means a tiger looking down. "Chasing by" is insatiable. "Six Fourth"

Yinrou, although she is in the position of supporting others in the upper hexagram, she can't even support herself, so she has to turn upside down and seek support from the "ninth day of the first day".However, "June [-]th" is different from "June [-]nd". Both "June [-]th" and "June [-]th" are correct, and they correspond to each other. It is only natural that the compliant and righteous "June [-]th" should be raised in the upright "Ninth Day". , so it is auspicious.

However, if a weak superior seeks support from a strong subordinate, he may be despised and threatened by the subordinate.Therefore, it must be like a tiger staring at it, powerful but not fierce; moreover, the requirements must be stricter and stricter to ensure that there is no blame.

"Xiang Zhuan" said: "June [-]th" in turn asked "June [-]th" for support.It is for the sake of giving to the vast number of people, and of course there is no blame for being wronged for the sake of feeding the world.

This line shows that as long as seeking support is upright, you might as well take it from the people and use it for the people.

Sixth Five-Year: Brush the scriptures, live in Zhenji, and don't get involved in the big river.

"Xiang" said: "Jizhen" is "auspicious", and obedience means obedience.

The "Sixth Five-Year Plan" is feminine and not upright. Although he is in the throne, he cannot support the world, so he has to resort to the masculine "Shangjiu"; this is against common sense.However, this is for the sake of raising the world. It is a last resort and the motivation is pure. As long as you stick to the right way, you will be like "Xiang Zhuan" said: obediently obey the "Shangjiu", trust each other, and you will be auspicious when you succeed: because you don't have Strength, don't take risky actions.

This line shows that seeking support can even be done expediently as long as the motive is pure.

Upper Nine: Youyi, Liji, Lishe Dachuan.

"Xiang" said: "You Yi Li Ji", there is great celebration.In the "June Fourth" of the throne, relying on the "Shangjiu" to support the people; therefore, the people are supported by the "Shangjiu".However, "Shangjiu" is a position without status. Due to the trust of the monarch, if the status even surpasses the monarch, one has to be cautious and fearful, and it will be auspicious.However, "Shangjiu" is resolute and in the top position, able to overcome all difficulties and help the people without fear; therefore, "Xiang Zhuan" says: There is great auspiciousness.

This line shows that making offerings is a good deed and worth the risk.Yi hexagram, explaining the principle of nourishment.When the accumulation of materials is abundant, it is possible to nourish the world.You should rely on yourself, not rely on yourself, and not envy. You should use your wisdom to make the world be supported.Parenting must follow common sense, adopt proper means, and not violate principles.However, when it is unavoidable, as long as it is upright, it may as well take it from the people and use it for the people, but it should be majestic but not fierce, fair and strict.As long as the motive is pure, it may even be expedient, without violating the principle.In conclusion, making offerings is a legitimate act, and it is worth going all out for in any difficult situation.

A Comprehensive Overview of Yi Gua

[Meaning] rest and rejuvenate—self-reliance, accumulation of strength.

[Hexagram Meaning] Nourishing by mouth, seeking truth from one's own words, nourishing the peace of heaven, and being self-reliant.

【Introduction】Yi is the jaw, as explained in "Che Ke", the shape of its hexagram represents the upper jaw and the lower jaw.And the (gen) of the upper hexagram is "stop", and the (shock) of the lower hexagram is "movement", which coincides with the movement of the jaw.People have to move their jaws to eat and drink, and nourish their body. Because of this, Yi means "nourishing": nourishing the body, nourishing the spirit, nourishing others, nourishing things, etc. There are many ways of "nourishing", so we must be very careful .Sickness enters through the mouth, and misfortune comes out through the mouth, so be careful with your words and diet.

[Gua Yi] The upper hexagram Gen is a mountain, and the lower hexagram earthquake is thunder.Thunder shook down the mountain.The sound of thunder brings spring and makes the grass and trees on the mountain sprout and grow.This symbolizes upbringing.This shows that a person should have all aspects of self-cultivation and virtue in his life.It is everyone's responsibility to nurture ourselves and nurture all things in nature.

[Structural model] benefiting the great river, acting expediently, using yang to nourish yin, the means are legitimate, seeking nourishment is reasonable, Linyuan envies fish, and eats (nourishment by mouth).

[Yin and Yang] Two yang and four yin, more yin and less yang.

[Position] The second and fourth yao are in the yin position, the first yao yang is in the yang position, the third and fifth yin lines are in the yang position, and the sixth yao is in the yin position.

[Status] It is auspicious to support others and oneself.

[Hexagram Image] The upper hexagram Gen is the mountain, and the lower hexagram is thunder and movement. When combined, two images can be formed: (1) moving but not up, which symbolizes that when a person stutters, the lower palate moves and the upper palate does not move. , which symbolizes the open mouth, and the four yin lines in the middle are the opposite teeth, through which food enters and supplies nutrition. (2) The bursts of spring thunder rang down the mountain, and at the same time, the vegetation on the mountain was full of life and sprouted.The sight of nature nourishing all things.
