The culture soil required by general potted flowers must first be loose, with good drainage and air permeability to meet the needs of root respiration; second, it must have sufficient nutrients, rich in humus, good fertilizer and water retention, and meet the needs of flower growth and flowering; It must be suitable for the pH of flower growth; the fourth is that it does not contain harmful microorganisms and other harmful substances, egg masses of disease insects and live bodies, etc.

Soils that fully meet the above requirements are difficult to find in nature.In order to raise flowers well, it is necessary to manually prepare the cultivation soil according to the requirements of the ecological habits and growth and development stages of the flowers.

The preparation method of common culture soil is as follows.

Rotten leaf culture soil: In autumn, use 5 parts of deciduous broad-leaved tree leaves, 3 parts of herb stems and leaves, 2 parts of sawdust, and 10 parts of horse manure, pile them up in layers, pour them with human feces and urine as they pile up, and cover with 4 cm thick pastoral soil. It ferments and rots.In the spring of the second year, smash the rotten leaves, and then use 4 parts of rotten leaf compost soil, 2 parts of plain sandy soil, and 2 parts of furnace ash soil according to the volume ratio, mix them evenly, and pile them up for a period of time. Turn it over 3 to [-] times to fully mix the fertilizer with the soil, and then use it.

Peat cultivation soil: 4 parts of peat soil, 4 parts of plain sandy soil, 2 parts of horse manure or rotten leaf compost soil, mix and pile up, keep moist, and often overturn.When there is no horse manure, thin human excrement and urine can be poured, and it can be used after being fully fermented and decomposed.

Natural humus culture soil: According to the humus content and sticky degree in the forest humus soil, it is mixed with garden soil or river mud and thin human excrement, piled up for a period of time, and can be used after it is fully fermented and decomposed.

The stacking time of various culture soils, general flowers can be used in the same year, and delicate flowers.Or when it is used as soil for cuttings, it needs to be used every other year.Before using the culture soil, it is necessary to use a sieve to sieve it into a granulated state while it is wet, and it must also be mixed with an appropriate amount of insecticidal and sterilizing pesticides for disinfection and sterilization.
