Chapter 24 What are the types of cutting propagation

Cutting propagation is to use the regeneration ability of plant vegetative organs to make it take root or germinate into new plants under appropriate conditions.Plants propagated in this way grow faster and bloom earlier than seedlings, and maintain the characteristics of the original variety. For flowers that are not easy to produce seeds, this method is often used for propagation. The disadvantage is that the cutting seedlings have no taproot and the growth period is relatively short.

Cutting propagation is usually divided into the following types according to the different plant organs selected and the maturity of cuttings:
Leaf cuttings; whole leaf cuttings; leaf cuttings; stem and leaf bud cuttings; soft branch cuttings; hard branch cuttings; cuttings; root cuttings. In addition, depending on the cutting period and method, there are many names, such as split cuttings, heel cuttings, etc.
