Planting Tips

Chapter 52

Chapter 52
In the process of growing flowers at home, due to improper management, potted flowers will drop buds, flowers, and fruits. There are many reasons for this, and they can be summarized as follows.

(1) The accumulation of nutrients in the plant is insufficient, which cannot meet the needs of flowering and fruiting in the later stages of flower growth and development.Potted flowers need to consume a lot of nutrients from flowering to fruiting. If potted flowers are in the vegetative growth stage, due to insufficient light, temperature imbalance, improper fertilizer and water, and pest invasion, the growth of potted flowers will be weakened, and it will be difficult to accumulate enough nutrients to meet the needs of flowering and fruit setting. It will inevitably lead to bud drop, flower drop and fruit drop.

(2) Various environmental conditions that are not conducive to flowering and fruit setting cause bud drop, flower drop, and fruit drop.If there is too much rain during the flowering period, it will hinder pollination and cause the flowers to rot; long-term drought, excessive water evaporation, or poor drainage of the pot soil, waterlogged and difficult to dry, etc.

(3) In the vegetative growth stage, too much nitrogen fertilizer will make the plants grow leggy and affect the differentiation of flower buds, making it difficult to bloom. Even if they bloom, they often drop flowers and fruits.

(4) During the flowering period and early fruit setting period of the cracked buds, less water should be poured, and fertilization should be stopped, so as to reduce physiological flower and fruit drop, and increase the fruit setting rate.Watering and fertilizing during the full flowering period and before the young fruit is hung will inevitably cause bud drop, flower drop, and fruit drop.

(5) All kinds of flowers have their own characteristics of growth and development. For example, hibiscus and jasmine like light, fertilizer, and warm and humid climate; pomegranate, crape myrtle like light, fertilizer, and dry climate; Like half shade, like cool, avoid hot climate. If the respective growth and development habits cannot be satisfied, even if the buds are set, they will eventually fall, and the flowers will not bloom, and it will be even more difficult to set fruit.
