Chapter 717 Telling the child to argue

Chapter 717
The more people die, the unspoken rules will naturally form, and the experience will naturally increase.

There are at least 300 people who died in fights due to conflicts of ideas, or who are still in labor camps.

This Confucian scholar came from another place, how could he know these experiences.

Some Confucian scholars who have lived in Sishang for a long time and fell in love with the Mohist family knew it was over when they heard this, especially a few people around them knew that they were also Confucian scholars and stared at them viciously. Said: "That's not what I said... I also feel... no..."

I held back for a long time, but I didn't know what to say, I can't say that self-denial and courtesy are wrong, right?Self-denial and reverence are all wrong, so what kind of Confucian scholar should you be?
In desperation, the Confucian scholar who had been surrounded for a long time hurriedly said: "He is not a real Confucian scholar!"

"The true Confucian scholars talk about self-restraint and restoration of propriety, which means that the princes and nobles should restrain themselves. They did it first, and then everyone did it... It's not that you are not allowed to use food that is beyond your control..."

Another Confucian scholar next to him immediately cursed: "Shameless person! Cowardly person! If a person can overstep, what kind of courtesy is there? You are afraid of being beaten, but I am not afraid of it!"

He stared at the angry eyes looking around, and said loudly: "The decree of Sishang, anyone who fights in the public will be sentenced to labor reform, and summer wheat will be harvested soon. If you want to go to labor reform, then do it. I am not afraid of you." !"

After the stage finally calmed down, the Confucian scholar was terrified, so he had no choice but to get off the stage in desperation, and hid in the group of Confucian scholars under the gaze of eager to eat his flesh.

Another Confucian scholar came to the stage, and Gao Zi asked, "Do you also think that human nature is inherently good, and what is not good is not human nature?"

"Of course."

"So, a red wooden ball, can you say that red is all there is to this red wooden ball?"

The Confucian scholar said: "However, red is the basis for distinguishing whether it is not a blue ball or a yellow ball."

Gao Zi asked, "So, anyone who doesn't follow your Confucian benevolence and righteousness is not a human being, right?"

The Confucian scholar said: "No, it is a gentleman who can be benevolent and righteous."

Gao Zi laughed and said, "That is to say, benevolence and righteousness are the gentleman's nature of your Confucianism. Those who conform are gentlemen, and those who do not conform are not what you think are gentlemen. Then how can you say this is human nature?"

"It's like, rape a woman, this is the nature of a foreman, and those who meet this characterization are fornicators; steal other people's property, this is the nature of a thief, and those who meet this characterization are thieves. Can you say that these are human nature?"

"For example, a yellow dog. You Confucians say that only yellow dogs are dogs. Isn't that ridiculous? Isn't a white dog a dog?"

"White dogs and yellow dogs are all dogs, but are yellow and white the same nature of dogs?"

"Dog nature should be possessed by all dogs, so it is called dog nature. The whiteness of a white dog is the whiteness of a white dog; the yellowness of a yellow dog is the yellowness of a yellow dog. However, yellow and white are both Not doglike."

The Confucian scholar said helplessly: "Yes. However, I think you Mohists say that human nature is neither good nor evil, and you recognize people's needs, and that will cause chaos in the world."

Gao Zi said seriously: "Do you know how to debate? I will talk to you about human nature, and you will talk to me about ordering chaos in the world? I will talk to you about ordering chaos in the world, and then you will talk to me about human nature. Now I only ask you , eating, is it human’s innate sex? Please answer yes or no. My definition of sex is born with it. You have to answer yes or no within my range. Do you need me to teach Zimozi Let me tell you the basis of the compiled rhetoric again?"

The Confucian scholar pondered for a while and said, "Yes, and no."

Gao Zi smiled and said, "A thing can be a dog or not a dog, but it can't be a dog and not a dog. If it is, it is, if it is not, it is not."

The Confucian scholar said: "White and red are both colors. If they are not white, then they must not be white, but they are not necessarily red, they may be black. In addition to human nature, it is not necessarily inhumane, but there are other things. For example, benevolence , what is unkind is not necessarily cruel, it may just be numb.”

Gao Zixin said, what are you talking about?
After sorting it out for a long time, I seemed to understand, and said with a smile: "You are secretly changing the concept again, you have replaced the gentleman's nature with human nature. Red and black are gentlemen or villains, but people are like a bundle of silk, red and black, It is external, but the nature of silk is just silk. If it is not silk, it must not be silk; if it is not red silk, it may be black silk."

"I'll ask you again now, is it human nature to eat, and is there anyone who doesn't eat?"

The Confucian scholar had no choice but to say: "No. If sex is what you define as sex, then eating is a manifestation of human nature."

"However, there is also a difference between nature and human desire. If you are full, you will not die from hunger. That is your nature. If you want to eat well, that is human desire. Therefore, human nature is to eat to live, but it is not human nature to want to eat well. That's why I said that eating is human nature or not human nature."

"You Mohists say that the satisfaction of people's needs and desires is human nature, and that is causing chaos in the world. People must distinguish between their own nature and their own selfish desires, so that the world can be brought into order."

Gao Zi said: "Eating is selfish desire. People eat because they want to live. Wanting to live is desire. Eating is not for eating. Eating is not a human nature, but an external manifestation of human nature. The purpose of eating, It is living, and all kinds of behaviors that people do for their own desire to live are human nature."

"Human nature itself is neither good nor evil. Only actions can have good and evil, and good and evil are determined by people."

"So, there are people first, and the moment there are people, there is humanity. Then there is the system of the world, and then there is good and evil. Li, so there is no good or evil now. How can you say now that li is human nature? Is it human beings that existed first? Or good and evil that existed first?"

Confucianism said: "There are good and evil first, and then there are people. In other words, good and evil are predestined by destiny. The moment a person appears, there is good and evil. So the etiquette is greater than the human nature you said, at least it must be equal."

"In ancient times, people gathered together to live, drink blood, and work together. This is because goodness precedes others. But now people forget goodness and lack education, so everyone seeks profit."

"If everyone seeks profit, how could there be good governance in ancient times where people work together and work together?"

Gao Zi said: "Because in ancient times, people didn't know how to plant and wild animals were everywhere, and people couldn't live without their ethnic group. It is precisely because of human nature and the desire to live and reproduce that they turned themselves into co-workers. The ancient times. Because those who wanted to go out to live on their own were eaten by wild animals, sick and no one took care of them, and those people died. Therefore, the people self-transformed out of human nature into what now seems to be a great good government in ancient times. Time."

He used "self-transformation" to explain, and some of the Taoists who were listening to him nodded their heads, thinking that the Mohism's principles were quite correct.

It was precisely because of the situation at that time that Taoism always believed that the sage knew what the hell?It is precisely because there are no sages that all things can transform themselves, and the good governance of the ancient times appeared. If there were sages at that time, stipulating the rituals and rules of the present, people would perish.

Many disciples of the Taoist school thought: All things transform themselves, and your Mohists also recognize this truth.

Gao Zi continued: "If etiquette is something that is difficult for all ages, then the etiquette of intimacy between men and women and proper attire, as the greatest rules in ancient times, could people survive in ancient times? Therefore, rituals are not difficult for all ages, but just appropriate for a certain era.”

"The laws and policies in the world can rely on the self-transformation of all things, and they can also be known through the study of the will of heaven. If there is a person who knows this will of heaven, he can also achieve the effect of self-transformation of all things in ancient times. The result of the self-transformation of all things is the same as the result of rationally promoting evolution after knowing the will of heaven."

The disciples of the Taoist school below all laughed and said: "Let's go on arguing with these Confucian scholars first. The debate between Mo and Taoism is secondary. These Confucian scholars know how to self-transform? They think that saints are born with it, and they You think etiquette is prior to people."

Gao Zi thought to himself, do you think I am willing to debate with you?The main reason is that I am a Mohist, and I am also a member of the Central Committee. I have to talk about politics. After I talk about self-hua, I must follow the sentence of rationality. It can be achieved not only by self-hua, but also by rational reasoning. Otherwise, there is nothing to do. Farmer sure It would be better to restore the etiquette and law of the feudal patriarchal system than to make their lives worse than death caused by industrial and commercial people.

If you don't follow this sentence, it's a public place, and if you are grabbed by people in the future, it will be troublesome.

As soon as the Confucian scholar heard what Gao Zi said, he immediately changed the subject and asked loudly, "I'll ask you, do animals have benevolence and righteousness? If animals don't, then is benevolence and righteousness the nature of human beings? Human nature is inherently good!"

Gao Zi also asked loudly: "I've been talking about it for so long, why don't you understand? Even if you say that benevolence and righteousness exist, it is like eating shit to a dog and swimming to a fish. Generally speaking, eating shit is a dog Sex, but just eating shit is not all about dogs. The same is true for fish, swimming is one of the sexes of fish, but if you only talk about swimming, you are not necessarily a fish.”

"Even if the benevolence and righteousness you mentioned exist, if they exist. Then, if benevolence and righteousness are human nature, is it true that a person without benevolence and righteousness is not a human being? Just as the distance from a fixed point to any place is not all the same, then this figure Definitely not round."

The Confucian scholar said: "Everyone has a heart of benevolence and righteousness, but it is hidden in the bottom of the heart. You can't see it, and sometimes you don't show it. Compassion, everyone has it; shame, everyone has it; respect, everyone has it." Everyone has the heart of right and wrong. Compassion belongs to benevolence; shame belongs to righteousness; respect belongs to propriety; right and wrong belongs to wisdom. This benevolence, righteousness, propriety and wisdom are not added to me by external factors, but my own It’s inherent, but it’s just that I don’t think about it so I don’t feel it.”

"Everyone has a heart of benevolence and righteousness, but sometimes the heart of benevolence and righteousness may not be manifested, so you cannot say that he does not have it. Then, as long as he has a heart of benevolence and righteousness, he is a human being. Although you cannot see this heart of benevolence and righteousness, Sometimes it doesn’t show, but definitely everyone has it.”

"It's like the air you Mohists say, you can't see it, you can't touch it, but it exists."
