Chapter 2 Arhat Recumbent Meditation
what is this……

He carefully looked at the extremely faint golden gas.

Is this mana?
Based on what he knew in his previous life, he could only guess like this.

Suddenly, a thought flashed in my mind.

Before, he didn't respond when he formed the [Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Mantra], is it because he has no magic power?

At this point, he silently recited the [Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Heart Mantra], put his hands together, and formed the [Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Heart Mantra Mudra].

At this moment, he found a faint golden light flashing away from his fingertips.

Immediately, he looked inside again, and found that the ray of mana in his meridian was gone.

The Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's heart mantra handprint needs to consume mana to take effect...

Thinking of this, he broke out in a cold sweat.

In this way, even if you know mantras and mudras, you can't drive away ghosts if you don't have mana!

Carve wooden statues to gain mana..., then carve a few more.

Thinking so, he took the chisel and hammer, and planned to knock some more pieces of wood.

When he went out, he found that except his own monk's room was still lit, the other monk's rooms were already dark.

Is it so late... He began to hesitate, if he walked to the side hall so late, would the chance of encountering a ghost be higher?

After thinking about it, he decided to get the wood.

After all, he was in a panic because he didn't have the power to draw near him.

It was very quiet outside the monk's room, a bright moon was shining in the sky, and the whole dilapidated Lanruo Temple was glowing with a gloomy gray.

Feeling anxious, he ran to the side hall with very little movement. Under the moonlight, he chiseled a large piece of wood with a chisel and hammer, and then hurried back to the monk's house.

He chiseled a small piece of this large piece of wood, added lamp oil, and carved it with the faint light.

This time, it was Buddha Tathagata.

Since he has just carved it, it will be much faster to carve it again.

After a while, the voices of various Buddhist sects mingled.

A warm current flows from the chisel into the meridians.

He looked inside himself and found that just like before, there was an extra ray of mana in the meridians.

After carving a Buddha statue, although he felt sleepy, he still managed to chisel a small piece out of the big wooden block and continue to carve.

But he was already very tired after sculpting during the day, and tonight he concentrated on carving two Buddha statues. After a while, his eyelids felt very heavy.

After he finished carving a Buddha statue again, his sleepiness accumulated more and more, like a mountain pressing down on him.

He closed his eyes irresistibly, and fell asleep on the spot.

The small chisel and the carved Buddha statue rolled down from the loosened hands.

The oil lamp next to it went out after a while because the lamp oil was burned out.

……

The next day, the sun shines on his face through the door paper.

His consciousness gradually became clear, and then with a jolt, he suddenly opened his eyes and sat up.

Looking to both sides, I saw the extinguished oil lamp and the carved Buddha statue.

Then, he looked inside the meridians and found that the mana in the meridians had increased.

In addition to the mana gained from engraving the two Buddha statues later, the mana consumed by the previous seal has also been recovered.

After he went to a well to wash, he went to the front hall to receive dry food.

After the start of work, he just learned that five people died last night, one of whom was a sculptor.

The sculptor was still sculpting the statue of Arhat yesterday, halfway through, and not yet finished.

The supervisor's clerk arranged for Li Fengning to take over his job.

Arhat sculpture is much less difficult than Bodhisattva sculpture.

In addition, he has already carved a Bodhisattva statue, and his sculpture skills have improved. When the sun is about to set, he has finished carving this statue of Arhat.

All of a sudden, all kinds of voices from the Buddhist gate sounded, much louder than the wood carvings last night, but not as grand as the entire statue of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.

A huge warm current flowed into the meridian along his left hand holding the chisel, like the Yellow River breaking its embankment.

He looked inside the meridian, and found that the mana in the meridian was much thicker, and had turned into a dark golden gas.

He waited a little longer and found that no information came to his mind.

"Now it seems that carving small wooden Buddha statues and stone statues carved by others can only get mana, but not other rewards."

Li Fengning thought in his heart.

He originally wanted to stay here to carve Buddha statues after the yamen who oversaw the work left.

But he was afraid that this positive move would attract attention, so he put away his tools and planned to go here tonight to chisel some pieces of wood and go back to the monk's room to carve.

At night, Li Fengning went back and forth three times between the monk's room and the side hall.

In order not to attract attention, each trip is separated by a period of time.

Every trip, I carried three small pieces of wood in my arms and brought them back to the monk's room.

He didn't dare to form the [Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Heart Mantra Mudra] again, because he didn't know how much mana would be consumed in one knot. If the mana was exhausted and ghosts came, it would be for nothing.

Now he can carve three wooden Buddha statues in one night, and each time he finishes carving one, the color of the magic power in the meridian will deepen by one point.

……

Three days later, fourteen of these workers died and nine more were added.

During these three days, three accompanying tourists lived in the vacant monk's room in Lanruo Temple.

On the second day after they lived in, some passing workers smelled the rotten smell coming from their monk's room.

When I opened the door, I saw three shriveled corpses, which were exactly the same as those of the workers.

One worker, under such a terrifying atmosphere, felt more and more pressure in his heart, and planned to escape.

This worker was also a sculptor. He was afraid of unknown monsters in the woods at night, so he didn't dare to run away, so he fled outside the temple when the supervisor's clerk hadn't arrived.

But before he escaped to the gate of the temple, he was surprised to find that the five supervisors had already arrived.

A clerk saw the sculptor was carrying a burden, so he knew what he was planning, went up to him and grabbed him, and put a single knife on his neck.

But I didn't expect that the sculptor had lost a little of his reason under the panic. Even though he was held by a knife, he was still dishonest. He punched the servant on the bridge of the nose and struggled to leave.

The yamen officer suddenly had a nosebleed, and in a rage, he pulled the single knife, ending the sculptor's life.

The body of the sculptor was buried with Li Fengning's help.

He remembered that the sculptor carved the Duowen Heavenly King, only the five sense organs were not carved on the whole body.

He was afraid that the yacha would let other sculptors carve the statue, so he went to the yamen first, saying that he could finish carving the statue of the heavenly king.

The supervisor's clerk naturally didn't know Li Fengning's real thoughts, he just thought that this kid wanted to show off himself, and with a secret smile in his heart, he asked him to continue carving the statue of Duowen Tianwang.

After sculpting the statue of Duowen Tianwang, Li Fengning obtained the mana as he wished, but the mana was not much, about [-]% of the mana statue that he had carved that day.

From this, he knew that the amount of mana gained was related to the remaining progress of other people's carvings.

In the past three days, most of Li Fengning's time was spent on carving the statue of Arhat.

Arhat Detective is one of the Eighteen Arhats.

The image of the hand-probing Arhat in the secular world is very interesting. He sits cross-legged, with his hands up, as if he is stretching, his head is raised, his eyes are half-closed, and he is yawning heartily with his mouth wide open.

The moment the statue of the probing Arhat was carved, the magnificent voices of various Buddhist schools mingled.

A stream of information flooded into my mind.
