Meditation I

Chapter 18

Chapter 18

You have to learn to meditate, not only to have insight into the law of mutual transformation between things, but also to keep paying attention to this law of change, and to practice yourself from the height of philosophy.

Karma intertwines you with what happens through eternity

Then, O my soul, are you no longer good, simple, simple, frank, more obvious than the body?Have you grown tired of this kind of love and contentment? Are you no longer willing to have pleasure and enjoyment with an attitude of abundance, of wanting nothing—whether it be with animate or inanimate things?Have you no longer longed for long hours of pleasure, for pleasant dwellings and climates, for life in harmony with men? However, you are satisfied with the status quo, you are full of joy in the things around you, and let yourself believe that everything you have is a gift from God, and it is the best gift for you, and you believe that things that can make God feel at ease must be good, The perfect life form preserved by the gods and the things that are true, good and beautiful are all good, not only generating and containing all things, but also containing, dissolving, and generating other similar things?Would you not find fault with gods and men, and not be blamed by them, when you lived with them?

You are only dominated by your nature, so you should abide by the various requirements of your nature, and you must satisfy it. Your nature as a living body will not let you be damaged by it.Then you must follow your nature and understand what it requires of you as a living being. You should let yourself do your best to meet these requirements, and your rational animal nature will not bring you any harm. But the rational animal is also a political (social) animal. So use these rules and don't let anything else bother you.

Everything that happens is either within the tolerance range of your nature or outside the range of your nature tolerance. If what happens is within your natural tolerance, then do not complain, but bear it with your natural ability. But if what happens is beyond your natural tolerance, then don't complain, because it will wear itself out before it wears you down.Instead, remember this: You were born to put up with it.And you have to turn it into something bearable according to your own thoughts. It is not only your right but also your duty to think this way.

If someone makes a mistake, you should kindly guide him and point out the error. But if you cannot do this, blame yourself, or even not blame yourself.

Everything that happens to you is already prepared for you by eternity, and the cause and effect in life intertwines you and what happens in eternity.

Whether the universe is a synthesis of atoms, or nature is a whole system, first of all, it must be confirmed that I am only a part of the whole universe dominated by nature; secondly, I am closely connected with other parts of the same nature as myself .Since we are to remember that we are only parts of the whole, I shall have no complaints about all that the whole assigns to me; what exists for the good of the whole does not harm a part of the whole. The final reason is that the whole does not contain what is unfavorable to it; all things governed by nature have this common principle. But besides this, there is in the nature of the universe the principle that it cannot be compelled to produce anything harmful to itself, even by external factors. So, remembering that I am part of the whole, I will be happy with all that happens. And in a way, I'm related to those of my own kind, so I don't do anything antisocial, I lean more toward my kind and put all my energy into To invest in the common good, not to do the opposite. If we really do this now, then our life will be smooth and happy, and this is exactly what you can see: as a citizen, serving the public is a happy life, and working for the country is a joy.

I mean that the parts belonging to the whole of the universe, everything in the universe, necessarily perishes; but destruction is to be understood in such a sense that it is nothing but a necessary change. But if this change were both an evil and a necessity for the parts, the universe as a whole would therefore be unable to continue to exist under good conditions; for the parts are changing and structurally Also doomed to destruction in a different way.Is the crime of evil committed against the part of the universe designed and destined to suffer by nature, or is it that nature does not know that these results occur? In fact, these assumptions have no basis in fact.If one does not use the word "nature" (as a force at work), but speaks of these things as "natural" or "by nature," then this is obviously absurd. thing.

For, on the one hand, this approach affirms that the parts of the whole are subject to the law of change according to their nature, and on the other hand, at the same time, they are particularly surprised and puzzled by the fact that one thing falls apart and then recomposes another thing. The various constituent elements of things will disperse or change, any solid will turn into dust, everything in the air will turn into elements of air, and all material parts will return to the embrace of the universe as a whole according to the rationality of the universe. Burned out by fire within the cycle, or replaced by the eternal change of the universe.Never have the misconception that solid and gaseous matter is yours when you create it.Because these substances were obtained from food and air yesterday or the day before yesterday. So, everything that you grow and change is not born of your mother. But there is nothing contrary to the foregoing to say that your mother put you in close relation to other things of the same variable character.

If you already have kindness, humility, sincerity, reason, calmness and open-mindedness, then please don't change these good qualities easily; if you lose these, then please quickly get them back.Remember: the word "reason" signifies a clear awareness of all particulars and complete freedom from ignorance; the word "calm" signifies a willing acceptance of whatever the universal universal assigns you; The term signifies that part of the intellect that transcends the pleasure or pain that the flesh can cause, and transcends all poor things, such as so-called good fame or death. You have to maintain the above-mentioned virtues in yourself, and don't just think that others will praise you in this way, so that you can become another you and enter another state of life at the same time.

Because, if you continue to be the same as you were, and are ravaged and desecrated by such a life, then you can only be said to be a big fool, and you are the kind of life-greedy and fearful people who cherish life too much, just like those who live in Like the gladiators who are bitten half to death after a fight with wild beasts, they beg to live another day even though they are covered in wounds and blood clots, when in fact they are still torn apart by the same claws. So, you have to continue to maintain these virtues, if you can practice these virtues, then you will have the feeling of being on the island of happiness. However, if you have felt that you are far from these virtues, and can no longer hold them in your hands, then please be brave to hold your last position, and even lose your life at once, not out of passion, but All out of simplicity, freedom and humility.Say goodbye to life at least after doing this most admirable thing. You must bear in mind that the gods exist, and you must also remember that the gods do not like to be flattered, and that what the gods desire is that all rational things be fashioned to be exactly like them; All a fig tree has to do is to be a fig tree, and all a dog has to do is to be a dog, and a bee has to be a bee, and all a man has to do is be a man; and, Doing so alone will bring you the greatest benefit and will help you to remember all the above-mentioned virtues.

Farces, wars, surprises, torpor, and slavery will wear down your divine principles day by day.How many things have you drawn to arbitrary conclusions from your imagination without having studied them carefully at all, and how many others have you neglected? Therefore, you should face everything carefully, do everything, and treat everything in the same way. Your ability to respond to the time can be perfected, and in this way you can exercise your thinking ability and maintain awareness of known facts. Don't show off your confidence, but you don't need to hide it either.Because when will you learn to enjoy the beauty of simplicity and beauty of dignity? When will you be able to enjoy the joy of knowing everything? These understandings include: What is the inner substance of things?Where is it in the universe? How long can it exist?Made of what?Where does it belong? And who can give and take it?
Follow the law of all things to walk out of the straight road

A spider is proud when it catches a fly; when another carnivore catches a poor hare, or a fisherman catches a few small fish in his net, or a hunter catches a boar or a bear, or even in When capturing Sarmatians, the victor always puts on a proud pose. But if you examine their perception, aren't these robbers?
You have to learn to meditate, not only to have insight into the law of mutual transformation between things, but also to keep paying attention to this law of change, and to practice yourself from the height of philosophy.Because nothing can bring you a more open-minded sentiment than this method. And the open-minded person, who is usually able to get rid of the body, knows that at any time—no one knows when—will die, give up everything, and put all his energy into everything, in everything. All surrender themselves to the nature of the universe. He never asks how others comment on him, what they think of him, and he doesn't care whether others disagree with him.The two things that satisfy him are as follows: the first, that he remains just in what he has at hand;He put aside all the pursuits that would keep him distracted and busy.Because, apart from this, there is nothing else to be desired--following the law of all things, you can walk a straight path, and under the guidance of this straight path, you can follow the gods.

When you need to decide what to do with your own ability, what are you afraid of deciding? If you can see the road clearly, then go on without turning; if you can’t see clearly, then stop and discuss with the best advisor. If you encounter any obstacles, then please move forward after careful consideration, and you must maintain a proper posture.Because reaching the goal is the best, and if it fails, it is also a failure after trying.Reasonable people will be calm and positive in everything, and they will not lose their composure in the midst of hilarity.

When you first wake up, ask yourself right away: If other people did what is just and reasonable, would it make any difference to you?no difference.

I assume that you haven't forgotten what kind of people those people who praise and criticize others while being arrogant are like people in bed and at the dinner table. How they steal and rob, but not with hands and feet, but with the most precious part of them. And if a person makes up his mind, he can use this precious part to create a loyal, humble, sincere, law-abiding and good elf (happiness).

To Nature that gives all and takes all back, the cultured and the humble say, Give as you will; take as you will. However, he does not say this with arrogance, but with an attitude of surrender and joy.
