Chapter 40 Jin's Three Needle Therapy

Jin's three-needle therapy is an academic school of Lingnan acupuncture.Professor Jin Rui is the founder and representative of this therapy.

The meaning of "three needles" mainly has the following two aspects: one is that certain diseases need acupuncture three times to control the symptoms; Three needles, etc.; in addition, some are a combination of three acupuncture points, such as Quchi, Waiguan, and Hegu, which are mainly used for hand pain and upper limb paralysis.

"Three" is singular and belongs to Yang. "Three" is Shaoyang, the yang energy is newly born, full of vigor, and gradually flourishes; "Three" is a homonym for "sheng", which means endless and infinite expansion.

[-]. Sishen needle
Positioning: 1.5 inches from the front, back, left and right sides of Baihui.Indications: Mental retardation, dementia, headache, dizziness.

[-]. Wisdom three needles
Point group: the Shenting point is the first needle, and the left and right Benshen points are the second and third needles.

Location: Shenting point - on the head, 0.5 inches straight above the center of the current hairline.

This acupoint—on the head, 0.5 inches above the current hairline, 3 inches away from the Shenting, at the intersection of the inner two-thirds and outer one-third of the line connecting the Shenting and the head dimension.

Indications: mental retardation, mental disorders.

[-]. Three temporal needles
Positioning: Straight up from the tip of the ear, two inches above the hairline is the first stitch, and one inch from the front and rear side of the first stitch is the second and third stitches.

Indications: Sequelae of cerebrovascular accident, hemiplegia caused by traumatic brain injury, crooked mouth and eyes, cerebral arteriosclerosis, tinnitus and deafness, migraine, Parkinson's disease, brain atrophy, senile dementia.

Point groups: Naohu, left and right brain empty.

Location: Brain—on the back of the head, in the depression above the outer occipital tuberosity.Naokong - 2.25 inches on the left and right sides of the Naohu.

Indications: Limb movement disorder, body imbalance.

[-]. Hand wisdom acupuncture
Acupoint group: Neiguan Shenmen Laogong Location: Neiguan—sitting or supine position, palms up.2 cun above the transverse crease of the wrist, between the palmaris longus tendon and the flexor carpi radialis tendon.Lao Gong——In the palm of the hand, when the second and third metacarpal bones are offset from the third metacarpal bone, at the tip of the middle finger when the palm is flexed.Shenmen—on the wrist, at the ulnar end of the transverse crease on the palmar side of the wrist, in the radial depression of the flexor carpi ulnaris tendon.

Indications: ADHD and epilepsy in mentally handicapped children.

[-]. Zuzhi Needle
Positioning: Yongquan is the first needle; the midpoint of the line from the metatarsophalangeal joint to the heel is the second needle, also known as Quanzhong point; the opening of Quanzhong point 0.8 inches inward is the third needle.

Indications: Mentally handicapped children with autism and speechlessness.

Seven, hand three needles
Point group: Quchi Waiguan Hegu

Location: Quchi—at the elbow, when the elbow is flexed, at the midpoint of the line connecting the lateral end of the transverse elbow crease and the lateral epicondyle of the humerus.Waiguan—two cun above the transverse crease of the dorsum of the wrist, between the radius and the ulna.Hegu—on the back of the hand, between the first and second metacarpal bones, at the midpoint of the second metacarpal bone.

Type of treatment: upper limb paralysis.

Eight, foot three needles
Point group: Zusanli Sanyinjiao Taichong Location: Zusanli—on the anterolateral side of the calf, 3 inches below Dangdubi point, one finger (middle finger) away from the front edge of the tibia.Sanyinjiao - on the inside of the calf, 3 inches above the tip of the medial malleolus, behind the medial border of the tibia.

Taichong—the dorsum of the foot, the depression in front of the junction of the first and second metatarsal bones.Indications: lower extremity sensory or motor impairment.

Positioning: Needle I on the shoulder—directly facing the subacromial depression.Shoulder II needle—the depression about 2 inches before the shoulder I needle.

Shoulder III needle—the depression about 2 inches behind the shoulder I needle.

Indications: Frozen shoulder, shoulder arthritis, paralysis of the upper limbs, inability to lift the shoulder.

Ten, three neck needles
Point group: Tianzhu Bailao Dazhu

Location: Tianzhu——in the neck, in the hairline depression behind the outer edge of the trapezius muscle, about 1.3 inches away from the middle of the posterior hairline.

Bailao - open about two inches straight above Dazhui and 2 inches to the sides.

Dazhu—on the back, under the spinous process of the first thoracic vertebra, 1.5 cun laterally.Indications: cervical spondylosis, neck pain.

Eleven, back three stitches
Point group: Dazhu Fengmen Feishu

Location: Da Zhu Yi is on the back, under the spinous process of the first thoracic vertebra, 1.5 cun apart on the left and right sides.

Damper—on the back, under the spinous process of the second thoracic vertebra, open 1.5 inches on the left and right sides.

Feishu—on the back, under the spinous process of the third thoracic vertebra, 1.5 cun apart on the left and right sides.

Indications: bronchitis, asthma, back pain.

Twelve, three waist needles
Point group: Shenshu Dachangshu Weizhong
Location: Shenshu——at the waist, under the spinous process of the second lumbar vertebra, 1.5 inches apart on the left and right sides.

Dachangyu——at the waist, under the spinous process of the fourth lumbar vertebra, 1.5 inches apart on the left and right sides.

Weizhong - at the midpoint of the popliteal crease, between the biceps femoris and semitendinosus tendons.

Indications: low back pain, lumbar hyperplasia, lumbar muscle strain, sexual dysfunction, nocturnal emission, impotence, irregular menstruation.

Thirteen, knee three needles
Acupoint group: Knee Eye Liangqiu Xuehai

Location: Knee eye—knee flexed, in the depression on both sides of the patellar ligament.Liangqiu——Bend the knee, two inches above the outer edge of the patella.Sea of ​​Blood—Bend the knee, two inches above the medial superior edge of the patella, when the medial head of the quadriceps rises.

Indications: Knee joint swelling or weakness.

Point group: Jiexi Taixi Kuncang

Location: Xiexi—in the central depression of the transverse crease at the junction of the dorsum of the foot and the calf, between the tendons of the extensor digitorum longus and the extensor digitorum longus.

Taixi - On the inside of the foot, behind the medial malleolus, in the depression between the tip of the medial malleolus and the Achilles tendon.

Kuncang——Behind the lateral malleolus of the foot, it is the depression between the tip of the lateral malleolus and the Achilles tendon.

Indications: Ankle joint swelling and pain, mobility disorders, heel pain.

Acupoint group: ischial point Weizhong Kunlun
Location: Ischia point—the level of the end of the gluteal groove, about 3 inches away from the posterior midline.

Weizhong - at the midpoint of the carmine crease, between the biceps femoris tendon and the semitendinosus tendon.

Kunlun - behind the lateral malleolus of the foot, in the depression between the tip of the lateral malleolus and the Achilles tendon.

Indications: Sciatica.

Sixteen, eye three needles
Point group: eye Ⅰ needle eye Ⅱ needle eye Ⅲ needle
Positioning: Eye I Needle - 2 points above Jingming Point.Eye II needle—the upper edge of the lower eye socket, facing the pupil.Eye Ⅲ needle—the lower edge of the upper eye socket, facing the pupil.Indications: optic atrophy.

[-]. Nasal three needles
Acupoint group: Yingxiang Bitong (Shangyingxiang) Cuanzhu (or Yintang)

Location: Yingxiang - at the midpoint of the outer edge of the nose, in the nasolabial fold.Cuanzhu—on the face, when the brow is sunken, at the supraorbital notch.Yintang—on the forehead, between the brows.Nasal passage—in the nose, at the upper end of the nasolabial fold in the depression under the nasal bone.Indications: allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, epistaxis.

Positioning: Shanglianquan point is the first needle, 0.8 cun away from the left and right side of Shanglianquan point is the second and third needles.

Indications: salivation, apoplexy, strong tongue, slurred speech, delayed speech development.

Nineteen, ear three needles

Point group: Tinggong Tinghui Wangu

Location: Tinggong—on the face, in front of the tragus, behind the condyle of the mandible, in a depression when the mouth is opened.

Listening—on the face, in front of the intertragus notch, at the posterior edge of the mandibular condyle, where there is a depression in the opening of the mouth.

End bone—on the head, in the depression behind the mastoid behind the ear.Type treatment: deafness, tinnitus.

Point group: eye muscle group: Sibai lower eyelid Ashi point

Point group: Zhongwan Neiguan Zusanli Location: Zhongwan—on the upper abdomen, on the front midline, 4 inches above the navel.Neiguan—on the palm side of the forearm, on the connecting line between Quze and Daling, 2 cun above the transverse crease of the wrist, between the palmar longus tendon and the flexor carpi radialis tendon.

Zusanli——On the front and outside of the calf, 3 inches below Dangdubi Point, one finger (middle finger) away from the front edge of the tibia.

Indications: epigastric pain, gastritis, ulcer, indigestion.

22. Intestinal three needles
Point group: Tianshu Guanyuan Shangjuxu
Location: Tianshu——In the middle of the abdomen, 2 inches to the left and right of the flat navel.

Guan Yuan - in the lower abdomen, 3 inches below the middle of the navel.

Upper Juxu——on the front and outside of the calf, when the outer knee is 6 inches below the eye, and one finger (middle finger) away from the front edge of the tibia.

Indications: abdominal pain, enteritis, dysentery, constipation.

23. Gallbladder three needles
Acupoint group: Riyueqimen Yanglingquan
Location: Sun and Moon——in the upper abdomen, when the nipple goes straight down, at the intersection with the seventh intercostal space, 4 cun away from Ren Meridian.

Qimen——In the chest, when the nipple is straight down, at the intersection of the sixth intercostal space, open 4 inches beside the Ren Meridian.

Yanglingquan—on the outside of the calf, in the depression anteriorly and inferiorly to the head of the fibula.Indications: gallbladder disease.

24. Three needles in urine
Point group: Guanyuan Zhongji Sanyinjiao
Location: Guan Yuan - in the lower abdomen, 3 inches below the middle of the navel.

Zhongji—on the Ren meridian of the lower abdomen, 4 inches below the navel.

Sanyinjiao - on the inside of the calf, three inches above the tip of the medial malleolus, behind the medial edge of the tibia.

Indications: urinary diseases, abdominal pain.

25. Yin three needles
Acupoint group: Guan Yuan returns to Sanyinjiao
Location: Guan Yuan - in the lower abdomen, 3 inches below the middle of the navel.

Returning——in the lower abdomen, 4 inches below the navel, and [-] inches beside the Ren Meridian.Sanyinjiao - on the inner side of the calf, three inches above the tip of the medial malleolus, on the posterior edge of the medial side of the tibia.

Indications: irregular menstruation, infertility, pelvic inflammatory disease.

26. Yang three needles
Acupoint group: Guanyuan, Qihaishenshu
Location: Guan Yuan - in the lower abdomen, 3 inches below the middle of the navel.

Sea of ​​Qi——In the lower abdomen, 1.5 inches below the middle of the navel.Shenshu - in the waist, when the spinous process of the second lumbar vertebra, 1.5 inches apart on the left and right sides.

Indications: impotence, nocturnal emission, infertility.

27. Fat three needles
Point group: Neiguan Zusanli Sanyinjiao

Location: Neiguan—on the palm side of the forearm, on the connecting line between Quze and Daling, 2 cun above the transverse crease of the wrist, between the palmar longus tendon and the flexor carpi radialis tendon.

Zusanli - three inches below the knee, a horizontal finger (middle finger) beside the front edge of the tibia.

Sanyinjiao - on the inner side of the calf, three inches above the tip of the medial malleolus, on the posterior edge of the medial side of the tibia.

Indications: increased cholesterol, hyperlipidemia, arteriosclerosis, coronary heart disease, stroke sequelae.

28. Protruding three needles
Acupoint group: Tiantushuitufutu

Location: Tiantu - the center of the suprasternal fossa.Water protrusion - in the neck, at the front edge of the sternocleidomastoid muscle, at the midpoint of the connecting line between the human body and the Qishe.Futus—on the outside of the neck, next to the Adam's apple, between the anterior and posterior borders of the sternocleidomastoid muscle.

Indications: hyperthyroidism, goiter.

29. Fat three needles
Point group: Zhongwan Zusanli with pulse
Location: Belt vein—the No.11 rib end directly below the umbilical cord.Zhongwan—on the midline of the abdomen, 4 cun above the middle of the navel.

Zusanli——On the front and outside of the calf, 3 inches below Dangdubi Point, one finger (middle finger) away from the front edge of the tibia.

Indications: Obesity.

Thirty, fork three needles
Acupoint group: Sunxiaguan Ashi point
Positioning: The sun—in the temporal part, between the tip of the brow and the outer canthus, in the depression about one finger backward.

Xiaguan——in front of the ears on the face, in the depression formed by the zygomatic arch and the mandibular notch.

Indications: trigeminal neuralgia.

31. Three needles for epilepsy
Point group: Neiguan Shenmai Zhaohai

Location: Neiguan—on the palm side of the forearm, on the connecting line between Quze and Daling, 2 cun above the transverse crease of the wrist, between the palmar longus tendon and the flexor carpi radialis tendon.

Shenmai——in the depression on the lower border just below the lateral malleolus.Zhaohai——In the depression on the lower edge just below the medial malleolus.Insect treatment: epilepsy.

32. Three needles for flaccidity
Acupoint group: Upper limb: Hegu Quchi Chize Lower limb: Zusanli Sanyinjiao Taixi Location: Hegu—the back of the hand, between the first and second metacarpal bones, about the midpoint of the second metacarpal bone.

Quchi - at the lateral end of the transverse cubital crease, when the elbow is flexed, at the midpoint of the line connecting the lateral end of the cubital crease and the lateral epicondyle of the humerus.

33. Needle for dizziness and pain
Point group: Sishen Needle Yintang Taiyang
Positioning: Sishen Needle - 1.5 inches in front, back, left, and right sides of Baihui (Du Meridian), that is, 0.5 inches in the side of Sishencong (Jingwai Qi Point), a total of four needles.

Yintang—on the forehead, between the brows.Sun——In the temporal part, between the tip of the brow and the outer canthus, in the depression about one finger backward.

Indications: dizziness, headache, neurasthenia.

34. Acupuncture for facial paralysis
Point group: Group 1: Yangbai Sibai Taiyang Group [-]: Yifeng Dicang Toujiao Che Yingxiang Location: Yangbai—on the forehead, when the pupils go straight up, [-] inch above the eyebrows.Sibai - on the face, looking straight ahead, with pupils directly below, in the depression of the infraorbital foramen.

Jianjing—on the shoulder, facing the center of the breast, at the midpoint of the line connecting Dazhui and the acromion.

Indications: hyperplasia of mammary glands, insufficient milk, benign lumps of mammary glands.

36. Brown three needles
Point group: Zygomatic Iliac Taiyang Xiaguan

Positioning: Zygomatic Iliac—Sitting or supine position.On the face, directly below the outer canthus, in the depression at the lower border of the cheekbones.

The sun - sitting upright or sitting sideways.In the temporal part, between the tip of the eyebrow and the outer canthus, in the depression about one finger backward.

Xiaguan—in front of the ears on the face, in the depression formed by the zygomatic arch and the mandibular notch.

Indications: brown spots, macula, dark spots.

37. Tranquility needle
Positioning: Dingshen I Needle: 5 points on Yintang.

Dingshen II and III needles: 5 points above Yangbai.

Indications: Children with ADHD, strabismus in children with cerebral palsy, mentally handicapped children or other diseases with blind eyes, forehead pain.

38. Close three needles
Point group: Shixuan Yongquan Renzhong

Positioning: Ten Xuan——raise the palm, and bend the ten fingers slightly.At the tip of the ten fingers of the hand, 0.1 inch (finger inch) from the free edge of the nail.There are 10 acupuncture points in total.

Yongquan——on the bottom of the foot, in the depression of the front of the foot when the foot is rolled, approximately at the intersection of the front 1/3 and the back 2/3 of the line connecting the head of the second and third toe seam and the heel.

Renzhong—on the face, at the intersection of the upper 1/3 and middle 1/3 of the Renzhong groove.Indications: closed certificate.

39. Take off three needles
Point group: Baihui Shenque Renzhong

Location: Baihui - on the head, 5 inches straight above the center of the current hairline, or at the midpoint of the line connecting the two ear tips.

Shenque - in the middle of the abdomen, the center of the navel.Renzhong—on the face, at the junction of the upper 1/3 and lower 2/3 of the Renzhong groove.Indications: out of evidence.
