Chapter 1 Preface
When I first came to the United States more than [-] years ago, I was completely confused and had only passion. All I can think of is to bring out the vigor of the Chinese people and work hard in this magical land.At that time, like many young people who just graduated from university today, I was full of energy and impulsiveness, with a little arrogance. I believed that hard work will win, and I believed that the world is vast and the future should be developed by our generation. There is no difficulty that we cannot overcome.

Whether standing on the streets of Washington, sitting in a Chinese restaurant in Manhattan, or lying in a low basement with only a bed and a table, I feel that "this is how the world should be" "things should be that" "People should think like this"——we all thought like this when we were young, with romance and enthusiasm filling our hearts, and heroism and bravery entwining our minds.

But it turned out that what I thought was right at first was always wrong in the end. Many people who stubbornly believe that "should be so" like me also hit the wall, and then became confused: it turns out that we are only standing at the bottom of the pyramid of wisdom, and have never opened the box of destiny deeply to see those decisions Our destiny and the knowledge that shapes our future - what are they really made of?I thought I was smart enough, but in the process of struggling, I gradually discovered that "I am stupid" is the biggest gain I have made along the way.

All this is due to our misreading of common sense and our misunderstanding of what wisdom is.

When people take the first step with ambition, the understanding and application of common sense is determining everyone's destiny. It controls every second of our thinking, determines our every action now and in the future, and even controls our memories-how we view our past.

Common sense is so important that common sense is a class. The essence of common sense is materialism, not idealism. The basis of materialism is to abide by objective laws, and to use rather than violate or fight against it.Only by abiding by common sense, rather than breaking common sense, can people grasp the greatest probability of success.Boats rely on the wind and the direction of the water to sail far away; water depends on the terrain and along the gullies to converge into the sea.Of course, it also depends on whether you believe in correct common sense or false fallacies.

Just like the essence of brainwashing is to use specific methods to make people believe in certain ideas and regard them as unchangeable truths, in more than ten years of working life, I found that most people make a mistake-they take some mistakes The principle of life is regarded as a belief in life, forming a wrong common sense, and I firmly believe in it, hold on to it, do not allow others to have half doubts, and live in it narcissistically.

When you try to wake them up, you often get complaints, resentment, and curses instead of thanks. This phenomenon is deeply imprinted in my experience, and it often makes me lament the fragility of human thinking and the lack of discovery power of most people. This lesson is lacking in our school education, and there will be no one in social practice who specializes in common sense training. Therefore, the more people who lose their destiny, the easier it is to shift the responsibility to the outside world instead of themselves; the more lost people are, the more they like to complicate the problem and miss the most critical clues.

In Pennsylvania, I have a friend of many years named Regman. He graduated from Harvard Law School and has worked in the US criminal justice system for more than ten years.Regman has handled quite a few difficult cases, and has also cooperated with the FBI, and I have dealt with related business. He and I often had disputes when discussing issues, sometimes even with loud voices and shouting at each other with red eyes.

Whenever the two sides entered a dead end—seeing that the two sides were about to quarrel to the point where one of them had to slam the door to give himself an explanation, Regman would wave his hands, stop, close his eyes, frown, and feel melancholy. After a while, then in a low voice, "Grande, I'll take another look at the file and give you my opinion on the matter tomorrow, okay?"
So the next day, I would be countered by his stronger firepower.Sometimes, I have to use certain gray and overbearing clauses of the FBI—such as "no comment according to law"—in order to avoid his persistent "pursuit" on certain sensitive issues.

Are we arguing about who is right and who is wrong? No, he was more discussing the pros and cons of the matter with me, and the appropriateness of the FBI's covert approach to investigations that circumvented the permissible limits of relevant laws.Through my contact with him, I discovered an interesting phenomenon: people who like to argue about gains and losses always have a broader vision than those who are obsessed with right and wrong. They can discover deeper problems and grasp the essence of things.Just like Mr. Regman, he is an excellent legal expert, a celebrity of the federal government, and also a "thorn in the side" and a "nightmare" of those FBI agents who like to do their own way.

After coming out of the FBI, after a period of tempering and careful preparation, I co-founded Gaode Investigation Company with my current business partner. When I started to give training to enterprises, I always had a wish, which is to tell this part of the very important "skills of understanding and analyzing the world", and pass it on to Chinese entrepreneurs in the form of courses, so that more and more of Chinese employees know how to analyze problems, how to abide by principles, and what attitude to use to acquire common sense and make good use of it.

It's not a world-changing skill, but one that makes our lives, jobs, and businesses simple, straightforward, and effective. It should not be the patent of a few elites, but should be popularized by most people.I always believe that knowledge cannot help a person become a strong person, only "common sense" can. Most of those great entrepreneurs and politicians are people who apply common sense to the extreme, not talented students.

In this book, I will share with you how to judge the development of things based on common sense. This common sense is an "open secret" lying in a corner. For example, Roosevelt, the only American who has been elected president for four consecutive terms in history, what he believes in is not a political belief, but a simple life principle: life is like playing rugby, neither foul nor dodge the ball, but to The bottom line went straight through.

I believe that through this book, you will understand the common sense I have mentioned-they are not only about the secrets of success, but also reveal the common sense that a person needs to survive and those displayed on the right path. Valuable quality. This is what we should care about, and it is worth learning for everyone.
