Chapter 19 Doctor Satin

Chapter 19 Doctor Satin (2)
During this time, the little princess has been very anxious. To while away the hours before the date, she was playing with a pet monkey. The monkey grimaced, and the princess couldn't help laughing happily despite her annoyance, and the emperor heard her laugh outside. But gradually, she began to feel more and more uneasy. The signal she had been waiting for never came.So when the watcher--whom the Princess thought she was fast asleep--ordered her to bed, she would have resisted if she hadn't been timid.

For two weeks the poor princess had been spent in anxiety, and had grown thin and weak. Then one morning, when the princess's old nurse went to her own room as usual to write her daily report, she accidentally left the key on the door. The princess locked her in the house quietly when she found out. That way, the princess's old nanny won't find herself locked in her room or go to her prisoner until she finishes her report.

The princess was free at last, and she flew to the window. To her great shock, she found several arrows among the blood-stained bushes.Overwhelmed with fright, she hurried down the stairs, escaped from the castle, and ran for a while along a path.Fortunately, she met her nanny's husband. He had just heard about the princess's imprisonment, and was wondering if he could be of help. The princess begged him to find some men's clothes, and she waited in the nearby forest. The man was very glad to be of service to the princess, and was going at once to the nearest town.Soon he found that there was a shop here.Servants in the royal palace often take the discarded clothes of their masters there to sell. Those clothes are made of good fabric, and there are some gems on them for decoration. The princess immediately disguised herself in the clothes he had bought, and put her own clothes in a bag, which the servant carried on his shoulders. So they set out to find the emperor.

Travel time is much longer than they imagined.During the day, they traveled as far as the princess could, and at night they had to sleep in the wild. One night, they camped in a beautiful small valley with a babbling brook beside it.In the morning, the princess was awakened by a beautiful song, which she loved to sing when she was a child.

She wanted to know who was singing, so she followed the singing to a Myrtle grove, and there she saw a little boy with a quiver on his back and an ivory bow in his hand, humming and singing. Smoothed the feathers off his arrows.

"Aren't you surprised to see me open my eyes?" the little boy asked with a smile. I shot the arrow of Cupid on the day the emperor met. Since I caused the wound, it is my responsibility to heal it."

As he spoke, he gave the princess a small bottle of magical ointment, and asked her to apply it on the wound after finding the emperor.

He said: "In two days, you can reach the palace. Take time, sometimes time is life."

The princess thanked the little boy with tears in her eyes. Then hurried back to wake up the servants, and immediately set off for the palace.

Just as the little boy had predicted, two days later they saw the walls and towers of the Emperor's country. The princess' heart couldn't help beating wildly at the thought that she would soon see the emperor. But when she heard that the emperor's condition had deteriorated sharply, she was overwhelmed with grief. Finally, she plucked up the courage and said that she was a doctor, and if the emperor could be delivered to her, she promised to cure him in a few days.

In order to have a good image in the palace, the little princess decided to make a light blue satin dress. She bought the most expensive and most splendid clothes in the shop, and she called a tailor, and promised the tailor that if he could make it in two hours, she would pay him twice as much. Then she went to the market again, bought a beautiful mule, and ordered the servants to dress it also in blue satin.

When everything was ready, she asked the landlady and mistress if she knew the emperor's attendants. To the delight of the little princess, she found out that the landlady's cousin was the emperor's personal entourage. So the little princess asked her to spread the word everywhere, saying that a doctor with good medical skills heard about the emperor's illness, and he had come from a long way, and he was sure to cure the emperor's illness. If he could not be cured, he would rather be burned alive.

This woman happens to be the kind of gossip who likes to chew her tongue the most. She hurried to the palace and spread the news everywhere without missing a single word.Although the imperial doctors scoffed at such a street news, the emperor's attendants reminded them that despite their best efforts, they could only watch His Majesty's injuries worsen day by day, and he was on the verge of death. That being the case, there was no harm in asking this stranger to come and see.

So the head of the royal family invited the young doctor to come and treat the emperor immediately. The doctor replied immediately, saying that he was very honored to be able to enter the palace.Immediately afterwards he set out on his mule, and the subjects and soldiers on the road exclaimed as they saw him pass:

"Dr. Satin is here! Look, Doctor Satin! Long live Doctor Satin!" When he arrived at the palace, he was immediately led into the dying emperor's room.

The Emperor lay on the bed with his eyes shut and his face as white as the pillow under his head, but when he heard the newcomer's voice he smiled, opened his eyes, and beckoned him to come closer.Dr. Satin bowed deeply, and he assured the emperor that he would certainly cure him, but he insisted that everyone leave the room, except for the most beloved attendant of the emperor. Then he applied the ointment the boy had given him to the emperor's wounds. It relieved the emperor's pain, and the emperor slept soundly throughout the night.

At dawn the next day, the courtiers and doctors hurried to the emperor's chambers. They were very surprised to see that His Majesty the Emperor no longer felt pain. But Dr. Satin asked them to go out immediately. He applied the medicine again to the emperor, and the medicine was very effective. The emperor's wounds were almost healed the next morning, and he could get out of bed.As his body got better day by day, his mind was more and more thinking about what caused him to suffer so much.So as his physical condition got better and better, his mood got worse and worse. The doctor's voice and smile reminded him of the princess, and he even wondered if it was the little princess who betrayed him, which caused him to suffer such a catastrophe.Thinking of this, he couldn't bear it anymore, and tears filled his eyes.

The doctor noticed the sad look on the emperor's face, and he did his best to cheer the emperor up with pleasant talk and amusing stories. Finally, he won the emperor's trust, and the emperor told him how he fell in love with a little princess, but how the princess treated him cruelly. But, despite all this, he couldn't escape his love for her.Dr. Satin listened sympathetically, and at the same time advised the king that perhaps the princess would not be like this and should not be condemned. However, although the emperor hoped so in his heart, it took a lot of time to convince his doctor. Finally, the day came when the emperor basically recovered, and it was the last time that the doctor applied precious ointment to the emperor's wound. Then there is a feeling of loss, indescribable, in both the patient and the doctor. For several hours, although both of them were very sleepy, it was difficult to fall asleep.

Early the next morning the princess decided to put on the clothes she had put in her bag.She adorned herself with care, adorned herself with all the jewels she had brought, and made herself as beautiful as she could be.As soon as she was dressed, the emperor woke up.He thought he was dreaming, otherwise how could he see the princess standing by the curtain of the room when he woke up.

For several minutes, they stared at each other, unable to speak for a long time. Then they both cried out with joy and gratitude.Slowly the princess told him of her own adventures since they last met in the Desert Tower.Although the emperor was still a little weak, he knelt down in front of her and expressed his gratitude and deep love to her, regardless of the fact that the courtiers and imperial physicians were waiting in the waiting hall to be summoned.

The emperor was anxious to prove how grateful he was to Dr. Satin. He opened the door himself, and everyone was amazed to see him in such good health. They scrambled to praise and flatter Doctor Satin. However, to their surprise, Dr. Satin was gone, and standing there was the cutest princess in the whole world.

"While thanking Dr. Satin for creating medical miracles, I would like to express your respect to your queen," said the emperor. He wanted to have the wedding today, but the princess said that she must first get her father's permission.

Accordingly, the emperor at once sent messengers to the capitals of neighboring countries, who soon returned with the king's sanction.

Because the king later found out that all these disasters were caused by his eldest daughter.

The wicked princess was very angry when she saw her plan fail. She lay on her bed, dying of rage and jealousy. No one mourned her death, and the king, tired of governing, gave the crown to his youngest daughter, and so the two kingdoms were united into one.
