Chapter 27 Gretha and Passit

Chapter 27 Gretha and Passit (2)
Gretha is happy to have found Passit and to run away from the forest and the fear with him.She was hungry, but happy, and they feasted on a merry feast.

After dinner they went to another beautiful room, where the crystal walls were covered with pictures. The princess was surprised to find that those paintings were her history from childhood to adulthood, and there was even the portrait of her that Passit found in the forest.

"Your painter is so clever!" she said, pointing to the last painting.

"They should, so I don't forget anything about you."

The princess was about to go to bed, and she arrived in a room of incomparable beauty, where twenty-four beautiful girls served her to bed and sang. The singing is so beautiful, the princess's dream is full of mermaids, cold sea water, and caves. She and Passit took a walk in the cave.

But when she woke up, her first thought was that although the Crystal Palace was so comfortable, she could not stay long, and she wanted to go back to her father.

Twenty-four girls helped her into the beautiful gown that the queen gave her, and she looked even more beautiful.Passit came to see her, and she said she wanted to go home.He was a little sad, and told her to think again, that wicked queen had made her so unhappy, that if she married him, Asgard would be hers, and his only thought was to make her happy.

Nevertheless the princess insisted on going back, but agreed to remain in Asgard for eight more days.

During these eight days, she was so happy that it felt like hours passed so quickly. On the last day, Gretha kept thinking about the situation in her father's palace, so she asked Passit, saying that if he wanted to know, he would definitely know how Gribra explained her disappearance to her father.

Passit began to suggest that someone should be sent to investigate, but the princess said, "Oh, can't you find out sooner?"

"Okay." Passit said, "You can see for yourself."

So they went to the top of the tall tower. The tower, like the rest of the castle, is made of hard crystal.

The prince took Graesa's hand, and she nervously put her pinky finger in her mouth and bit it.She looked ahead, and at once saw the wicked queen walking towards the king, and heard her say, "The poor princess is dead, and there is no great loss, and I order that she be buried at once."

Then, when the princess saw how she buried a coffin, and how the king wept, everyone murmured that the cruel queen had killed Teresa, and that her head should be cut off.

When the princess saw that the king refused to eat or drink for her fake death, she also cried: "Oh, Passit, if you love me, take me back immediately."

Although he really didn't want to, he had to agree to send her back.

"You needn't feel sorry, Princess," he said sadly. "I don't think you love me. I know you'll regret leaving Asgard. How happy we are here!"

But in spite of this she bade her queen farewell, and intended to go back.So Passit reluctantly prepared a sled, she sat next to him, and they had gone twenty yards when there was a loud noise behind them. She turned her head and saw that the Crystal Palace had broken into thousands of pieces, and disappeared like spray from a fountain.

"Oh, Passit," she said, "what's the matter? The palace is gone."

"Yes," he replied, "my palace belongs to the past. You can only see it after death."

"You're angry with me," Gretha said distressedly, "I'm actually more upset than you."

As they approached the palace, the prince made the sleigh invisible so that no one could see the princess.

She ran into the Great Hall, where the King sat alone. At first, he was taken aback by Gretha's sudden appearance, but later she told the king how she had been left in the forest by the queen and pretended to be buried.

The king didn't know whether it was true or not, so he immediately sent someone to dig the grave, and it turned out to be what the princess said.He kissed the princess, and made her dine with him, and they were very happy. At this moment, it was reported that the Queen was back and was having dinner with the King, and she was furious.

The poor king trembled before her.She said that Gracia was not a princess at all, but an imposter, and that if the king did not drive the false princess out at once, she would go back to the castle at once, and never see him again.

He didn't say a word, as if he genuinely believed it wasn't the real Gracia.

The queen won, and immediately sent her lady-in-waiting, who dragged the princess away, and shut her up in the garret. They took all the princess's jewels and fine dress, and gave her a overalls, wooden shoes, and a little cloth hat. There is a pile of straw for her to sleep in the corner of the room, and she is only given a little black bread every day.

Life is so miserable, the princess really misses the Crystal Palace. She wanted to ask Passit to help her, but she knew he was still angry for her leaving, so she didn't dare to expect him to come.

The Queen sent for a wicked Fairy, who was as bad as she was, and said to her, "Find me something I can't do for the Princess, and if she can't, I'll punish her, and she can't do it." Call me unfair." The bad fairy said that she would think about it carefully and come back the next day.

She came the next day with a ball of thread three times bigger than herself. The thread is very thin, and it will break if you blow it over in one breath. It is so messy that you can't find the end.

The queen gave the ball of thread to Gracia and said, "See? Use your clumsy fingers and wrap it up before dawn. If you break a thread, it's your problem." Then she went away. and locked her in the house with three keys.

The princess looked down at the ball of thread, and turned it over to see where the head was, and broke a thousand threads, which she could not arrange now.She threw the ball of thread on the ground and cried: "Oh, Passit, if you haven't forgotten me, come and help me, I'm going to be tortured to death by this ball of thread."

Prince Passit showed up immediately, so fast it was like he had the key.

"Here I am, Princess. I will serve you as before," he said, "though you have not been so kind to me."

As he spoke, he tapped the ball of thread with his cane, and all the broken thread ends were automatically connected, and the ball of thread was surprisingly smooth. The prince asked Gretha if there was anything else she could ask for his help, and if she would not think of him if she did not need his help.

"Don't be mad at me, Passit," she said. "I'm unhappy enough."

"Why are you unhappy, my princess?" he said, "as long as you come with me, we will be happy together."

"But what if one day, you get tired of me?" Gracia said.

The prince was heartbroken by her lack of confidence, and left without saying a word.

The wicked queen is so eager to punish Gracia that she wonders all night that the sun won't rise.At daybreak, before her appointed time, she came with her four maids, and when she opened the door, she said, "I bet this frivolous and lazy girl hasn't done anything at all. She'd rather Sitting there, let her hands grow white and tender."

But as soon as she walked through the door, Gretha handed her the ball of string. She couldn't find anything wrong with it, except that the ball of thread was a little dusty, and for that, she slapped Gretha twice, making Gretha's pink face blue. Then she locked up Gretha again.

Then the queen called the fairy again and gave her a hard lesson: "Don't make this mistake again, find something that is impossible to accomplish!"

The next day the Bad Fairy came again, and brought a great pail of feathers from different birds, nightingales, canaries, cardinals, great tits, parrots, owls, sparrows, pigeons, ostriches, bustards, Peacocks, larks, partridges, and all sorts of other birds. These feathers are all mixed together, and even the birds themselves may not be able to tell them apart.

"Here," said the bad Fairy, "give your prisoner a little work to do; it takes a little experience. Tell her to pick them out and separate them. She'd have to be a Fairy if she could do it well.

The queen rejoiced at the thought of the princess's despair. She gave the bucket to the princess, told her to divide the feathers according to the kinds of birds before daybreak, threatened her, and locked the door.

Gracia got to work right away, but when she took out a bunch of feathers, she realized that it was impossible for her to tell them apart.

"Oh." She sighed, "The queen wants to kill me, so I will die. I can't ask Passit to help me again. If he really loves me, he won't have to wait for me to call him, he will come by himself. "

"Here I am, my Gretha." Passit jumped out of the barrel, "How can you doubt my sincerity to you?"

Then he tapped the bucket three times with his cane, and all the feathers flew out, forming little heaps across the room.

"What would I do without you? Passit." Gretha said gratefully.

But she still couldn't make up her mind to go with him and leave her father's kingdom forever, and she begged him to give her some more time to think about it.He had no choice but to leave disappointed.

The wicked queen came again at dawn, and was surprised and angry to find that the business had been done again. She complained that the feathers hadn't been put away properly, and slapped Gretha again, locking her up.

The Queen called the Wicked Fairy again, scolded her so much that she was terrified, and promised to go home and think of a better way to make Gracea's misfortune.

Three days later, she came with a box: "Tell your servant to send this box to a place, but tell her not to open it. She will open it, and you will be very satisfied with the result." "

The queen went to Greta and said, "Take this box to my castle, and put it on the table in my chamber. But if you open it, I will put you to death."

Gracia went, in her little hat, wooden shoes, and coarse gown. But even though she was so shabby, she was still so beautiful that everyone wanted to know who she was when they saw her.

The sun was very hot, and the box was very heavy. She was tired after walking for a long time, so she sat down to rest under the shade of a tree by the grass. She put the box carefully on her lap, eager to open it.

"What if I open it?" she said to herself. "I don't take anything, I just see what's inside."

Without hesitation, she lifted the lid of the box.

Immediately a group of small people emerged from the box, men and women, no taller than her fingers. They danced in the grass and sang and danced and played games, so at first Gretha was happy to watch them.

However, after a while, she wanted to continue on the road, but found that there was no way to get them back into the box.If she chased them, they ran into the woods; and when she chased them into the woods, they climbed up the trees and hid in the moss, and their mischievous laughter and running came back to the meadows.

Finally, tired and scared, she sat down and cried: "I was wrong, Passit, if you still care about this rash princess, please help me again."

Passit immediately stood in front of him.

"Princess!" said he, "if it were not for this wicked queen, I fear you would never remember me."

"I'll think about it," Gretha said. "I'm not as heartless as you think, I just have to wait. I'm going to love you very much."

Passit was delighted. With his cane he drove the wayward villains back into their boxes, made the princess invisible, and took her to the castle.

The butler laughed when the princess appeared at the door and said the queen told her to put the box on the table.

"Oh no, little shepherdess, this is not your place. The floor here cannot be walked on with wooden shoes."

Gracia begged him to write a note telling the Queen that he would not let her in.He did.The princess went back to the palace with Passit.

As you can imagine, they didn't take the shortest way, but it didn't take long, the Princess thought. Before they broke up, she promised that if the queen still made things difficult for her, she would go to Pasit.

When the Queen saw that she had come back, she began to curse the Fairy, and pulled her hair, and scratched her face, and killed the Fairy if she could die.The princess handed her the box and the letter, and she threw them into the fire without looking at them, as if she were going to throw the princess into the fire next.

But what she did next was to dig a big hole in the garden, put a flat stone over it, and approaching it, she said to Gracia and her maid: "I heard that this There's a treasure hidden under the rock, see if you can lift it up."

So they lifted, and lifted, and Gracia lifted, and when the stone was high enough, she pushed the princess off, and the stone fell. Now, the princess is locked up.

Gretha was really desperate now, even Passit couldn't find her.

"This is burial." She trembled. "Oh, Passit, if you knew, how I'd like to trust you! But how do I know you're different from other men? When you know I love you, Are you going to get tired of me right away?"

While she was talking, she suddenly saw a small door open, and the sun shone into the hole.Gretha walked over without hesitation and came to a garden. There were flowers everywhere, and fruit, fountains splashing, and birds singing in the branches overhead. She went to the shade of the tree, wanting to see where the road leads, but found that she was standing not far from the Crystal Palace.

No mistake, the queen and Passit came to pick her up.

"Ah, princess!" said the queen, "don't let Passit suffer so much any more. How much it must have been for him when you were in the hands of the dreadful queen!"

The princess kissed her gratefully and promised her. Then, looking at Passit with a smile, he stretched out his hand and said:

"Do you remember? You said I could only see Crystal Palace after my death. I don't think you guessed the situation. I want to tell you that I love you with all my heart and I can marry you whenever you want."

Prince Passit held the princess' hand.He was afraid that the princess would change her mind, so the wedding was held immediately. The wedding was lavish, and Gretha and Passit lived happily ever after.
