Chapter 40 Minikin

Chapter 40 Minikin (1)
Long, long ago, there was a poor couple who lived in a simple hut with nothing but black melancholy. They had no food and no wood for warmth.Although they had nothing, God blessed them and gave them children, one child a year. The man is not happy to have so many children, he always complains that there are too many children.

Another child was about to be born, and the man went into the woods to gather wood, because he did not want to see any more children.

Immediately after the child was born, he looked round and said, "Oh, my dear mother, give me some old clothes of my brothers, and food for a few days, and I shall go out into the world and try my luck. Here you There are enough children!"

"God bless you, my son!" said the mother, "you can't do that, you're still a child."

But the little guy decided to do it.He begged and begged, but his mother had to give him some old clothes, find something to eat, and he left happily.

However, no sooner had he left the house than another boy was born.He also looked round, and said, "Oh, my dear mother, give me some old clothes of my brothers, and food for a few days, and I shall go out into the world and try my luck.

You have enough children here! "

"God bless you, my son!" said the mother, "you can't do that, you're still a child."

But she said it was no use, and the child begged and begged until he got old clothes and food, and bravely went out to find his twin brother.

The younger brother walked for a while, and when he saw that he was not far away, he told him to stop: "Wait for me! You are walking too fast, you should see your younger brother before he comes out to venture into the world."

The older brother stopped, looked back, and the younger brother caught up with him, told him he was his twin brother, and said:

"Let's sit down and see what Mommy gives us." So they sat down.

They walked a little further, and saw a brook running round a green meadow. The younger brother said they should baptize each other. "Since we left in such a hurry, we didn't have time to baptize at home, so we should baptize here."

"Then what do you want to be called?" asked the brother.

"Minikin," said the younger brother, "and you?"

"Gimpipin," said my brother.

After they are baptized, they move on.As they walked, they came to a crossroads. They decided to break up and go their own way. They did so, but after a while they ran into each other again. They separated again and met again after a while. They went back and forth three times like this. They decided to each choose a direction, one person went east, and the other went west.

"If you get into any trouble, call me three times, and I'll help you," said the elder brother, "but don't call me until it's an emergency."

"We won't see each other for a while," Minikin said.

Then they said good-bye, and Minikin went east, and Gympippin went west.

Minikin walked a long way alone, and met a hunchbacked one-eyed old witch, whose eye was stolen by Minikin.

"Ah! alas!" cried the old witch, "who stole my eyes?"

"I'll give you my eyes back, what will you give me?" said Minikin.

"I will give you a dagger, a dagger that can conquer an entire army, no matter how powerful it may be," replied the woman.

"Then give it to me first," Minikin said.

The old witch gave him a short sword, and he gave her the eyes back, and walked on.

He walked for some time, and came upon a stooped old one-eyed witch, whose eye was stolen by Minikin while she was asleep.

"Ah! alas!" cried the old witch, "who stole my eyes?"

"I'll give you my eyes back, what will you give me?" said Minikin.

"I will give you a boat. It can sail on fresh water as well as on sea, and it can fly over mountains and valleys," answered the old woman.

"Then give it to me first," Minikin said.

The old woman gave him a boat, and he put it in his pocket, and gave her the eye back. They went their separate ways.

As he walked for some time, he met a third hunched one-eyed old witch, whose eye was stolen again by Minikin. When she wailed mournfully and asked who had stolen her eyes, Minikin asked her what she gave him to give them back.

"I'll teach you a way to brew a hundred barrels of malt at a time."

After teaching this way, the old woman took back her eyes, and they went their separate ways.

Minikin hadn't gone a little while before feeling that he ought to see what his boat was for, so he took it out of his pocket, and first he put one foot in, and then the second. As a result, the ship became bigger and bigger, and later, it sailed on the sea.

Said Minikin, "Say now to the fresh water, and to the sea, and through mountains and wide valleys, and stop at the palace."

The boat flew fast and steady like a bird in the air, and did not stop until it was over the palace.

Many people in the palace had seen Minikin flying over from the windows, and they were so shocked that they ran down to see who it was that flew over by boat.

They ran from the palace, and Minikin had disembarked and put the boat in his pocket. As soon as he stepped off the boat, the boat shrank back to its original size. They ran out and saw nothing but a ragged little boy standing by the sea.

The king asked him where he came from, and the boy said he didn't know himself, and he didn't tell how he got here, but he sincerely asked the king to offer him a position. If there is nothing for him to do, he is willing to collect firewood and water for the cook, and the king agrees.

When Minikin entered the palace, he saw black cloth hanging up and down everywhere, and asked the cook what was the matter.

"Oh, yes," said the cook, "the king promised the three giants a long time ago to give them his daughter. They will come to fetch her next Thursday night. Wicked Red said he could bring the princess back. But who knows What? So, you see everyone is very sad."

When Thursday night came, Bad Red accompanied the princess to the seashore, where she was going to meet the giant, and Bad Red would be with her to protect her.But no matter what, the villain red can't beat the giant.

The princess sat down by the sea, and the villain Red climbed up a tree and hid among the branches. The princess was crying and begging him not to leave her.But he didn't care much about her, and said, "No matter what, one death is better than two."

Minikin begged the cook to let him go to the sea.

"What are you doing at the seaside?" asked the cook. "You can't be of much help."

"Oh, let me go," said Minikin. "I want to play with the other kids."

"Well, well, go," said the cook, "before I put the pot on the fire for supper, you must come back with a bundle of wood to light the fire."

Minikin agreed, and ran to the seashore.

As soon as he reached the beach, the giant rushed over with a roar. This guy is so big, so fat, and has five heads, it's ugly.

"Shoot!" cried the giant.

"Shoot yourself," Minikin said.

"Want to fight?" the giant growled.

"No, I can learn." Minikin said.

Then the giant threw the iron rod in his hand at Minikin, and the turf flew five feet high.

"Pooh!" said Minikin. "Not even the wind! Come and see mine."

He took out the dagger which he had obtained from the witch and struck at the giant, and all five heads flew into the sand at once.

When the princess saw it, she was so happy that she didn't know what to do. She jumped and ran, and said to Minikin, "Come, lie on my lap and sleep for a while." Minikin really fell asleep. The princess covered him with a golden garment.

Seeing that there was no danger, the villain Hong climbed down from the tree without losing the opportunity, and threatened the princess. The princess was afraid of being killed by him, so she had to promise to tell her father that he saved her.

He put the giant's lungs and tongue in his pocket, and took the princess back to the palace, and he got all the glory.

The king didn't know how to respect him, so he always sat him at his right hand.

And Minikin, he ran to the giant's ship, took a lot of gold and silver rings, and ran back to the palace.

The cook was astonished when she saw the gold and silver, and asked, "My dear friend Minikin, where did you get these things?" She was afraid that he would steal them.

"Oh," said Minikin, "I'm coming home, and I've brought so many rings out of the drawer for you."

The cook heard that it was all for her, so she didn't ask any more questions. She thanked Minikin and nothing happened.

It's Thursday again and everyone is sad.The villain Hong said that since she saved the princess once, she could save the princess a second time. So, he took her to the beach. He didn't really intend to do anything this time, the giants were coming soon, he still said that one would be better than two, and then climbed up the tree.

Minikin begged the cook again to let him go to the seaside for a while.

"Then, what are you going to do?" the cook asked.

"Let me go, my dear," said Minikin. "I'll go over there and play with the children."

This time she agreed. However, he had to come back before the meat was burned, and bring back a bundle of firewood.

When Mini King Kong reached the beach, the giant roared to him.He was twice the size of the first giant and had ten heads.

"Shoot!" screamed the giant.

"Shoot yourself!" said Minikin.

"Want to fight?" growled the giant.

"Can't fight and can't learn?" Minikin said.

The giant's iron rod hit Minikin.Even the iron staff, this one is thicker than that giant's.The soil on the ground flew more than ten feet high.

"Bah!" said Minikin. "Worse than the wind! Now look at me!"

He took out his dagger, and stabbed at the giant, whose head rolled all over the sand.

So the princess said to him again: "Come, sleep on my lap for a while." While he was sleeping, the princess covered him with a silver dress.

Seeing that there was no danger, the villain Red immediately climbed down and threatened the princess. Finally, she had to agree that he saved her, and then he took the giant's lung and tongue back. The palace was full of joy, and the king didn't know how to thank him.

Minigin took the gold and silver rings from the giant's ship and went back.As soon as he returned to the palace, the female chef clapped her hands and exclaimed, asking him where he got all these things. He said he got home for a while and these were rolled out of the barrel and he brought them to her.

On the third Thursday night, things were exactly the same as the previous two.Black cloth was hung in the palace, and everyone was sad.The villain Hong said that everyone has no reason to be afraid, because he has sent the princess there twice, and of course he can send the princess a third time.

He took the princess to the sea, and when the giant was about to come, he climbed a tree and hid himself.
