Chapter 73

Beside the car, Du Jun lit a cigarette leisurely.

The elevator door opened, and Liu Qingqing walked out in a beige lace dress. Du Jun's eyes lit up after she had obviously been carefully dressed, and she was a little distracted standing where she was.

Liu Qingqing's half-brother (Liu Hai) came out after him in a blue and white navy striped shirt.

The siblings smiled at each other and walked towards Du Jun.

"The two of you are well dressed today!" Liu Hai smiled when he saw Du Jun wearing a beige casual suit.

Du Jun withdrew his thoughts and said to Liu Qingqing, "Get in the car." He followed behind her and gracefully opened the passenger door for her.

Liu Hai was worried, grabbed Du Jun's arm and said, "Third brother, let me tell you, it's very inconvenient for my sister to dress like this today, you must send her home, do you understand?"

Du Jun closed the car door, broke free from his hand, and responded impatiently, "Understood."

At the entrance of the banquet hall, the staff gave Du Jun and Liu Qingqing small sun stickers with the logo of the charity dinner printed on them.

The two shuttled through the crowd, took red wine from the waiter, and looked for a familiar figure.

Beside the temporary T-shaped stage, Zhang Bin, Dai Yaner and several senior guests had a good talk in detail.

Zhang's Group held a charity show and invited 50 important people in the city, including well-known entrepreneurs and leaders of several competent departments.

The lights dimmed, and a wedding dress show began on a makeshift catwalk.

"Dai Yaner is really capable of inviting so many celebrities to be models." Liu Qingqing said to Du Jun while applauding, with envy in her tone.

Du Jun sighed softly, "Don't you think she's boring? Because of her sudden whim, neither brother nor younger sister can come."

Liu Qingqing didn't speak, but pursed her lips and smiled.

While talking, Zhang Bin walked behind Du Jun and asked in a low voice, "I won't be able to contact Tong Shaohua in the afternoon. Where did he take Tong Xueqian to pay homage to the old friend?"

Du Jun shrugged, spread his hands and responded, "I don't know, and I can't get in touch either."

When the lights came on, the huge office area was pitch-black, except for a glimmer of light through the gap in the door of the assistant chairman's office.

The phone rang, and Lian Ming, who was typing files in front of the computer, picked up the receiver without taking his eyes off the screen.

"Hey…"

"Lian Ming, are you still off work?" Luo Yun's concerned voice came from the other end.

Lian Ming raised his eyelids, "I haven't finished my work, and I don't even have time for dinner. What's the matter?"

"Oh..." There was a hang-up sound from the other end.

Lian Ming put down the microphone in surprise, and turned his attention back to the computer.

Not long after, Lian Ming came out of the bathroom and saw Luo Yun appearing in the office with two extra boxes of takeaway on the coffee table.

"Lian Ming, do you still have to eat after working so hard?" Luo Yun turned the swivel chair in the other direction, looked at him and said, "Roast goose rice."

"I'm not used to eating in the office." Lian Ming lowered his eyes, a little embarrassed.

"Don't be so particular." Luo Yun saw that he was awkward, and took out the lunch box, "If you feel uncomfortable after eating, I will accompany you to acupuncture."

Lian Ming looked at her and smiled, "Is there anything I can do for you?"

"Yes!" Luo Yun thought for a while, and felt that it was inappropriate to talk about something before the meal, "I'll tell you after you finish the meal."

After a while, Lian Ming took the napkin handed over by Luo Yun, his eyes flashed with a strange look, "Okay. What do you think?"

She looked at him and said, "The day after tomorrow, I want to ask you to do me a favor by acting with me."
