Chapter 19 Interrogation
[Original text]

The Master said: "Shun①has great knowledge②and also! Shun likes to ask questions and listens to others' words③, hides evil and promotes good④, grasps his two ends⑤, and uses them among the people⑥. He thinks Shun⑦!"

【Note】

① Shun: According to legend, the leader of the tribal alliance in the later stage of patrilineal clan society in ancient my country, his surname was Yao, he had the Yu family, his first name was Chonghua, and he was known as Yu Shun in history.

②Knowledge (zhì): Same as "wisdom".

③ You (ěr) words: shallow words. "The Book of Songs Xiaoya Xiaomin": "Wei'er's words are listening, and Wei'er's words are fighting." You, close.

④ Conceal evil and promote good: "Evil" refers to speech that does not conform to the golden mean. "Good" refers to speech that conforms to the golden mean.
