Chapter 2 Magic Mirror

Chapter 2 Magic Mirror
Long, long ago, before the Caucasians appeared in Senna, there lived a man named Gopanikupa.

One day, while he was out hunting, he came across a very strange thing.A giant python grabbed an antelope and entangled it with its body. The antelope resisted desperately and nailed the python's neck to a tree with its horns.Neither of them could get out because the horns were deeply embedded in the soft trunk.

"Help!" cried the antelope. "Help me! I'm innocent, and I don't want to hurt anyone, but if I don't defend myself, I will be caught and eaten by him."

"Save me!" The giant python also shouted, "I am Insado, the king of pythons, you saved me, and I will repay you well!"

After thinking for a while, Gopanikul decided to save the python, so he stabbed the antelope to death with a spear and let the python go.

"Thank you," said the python. "At the beginning of next month, I will probably have finished eating the antelope. If you come here, I will fulfill my promise to repay you."

"Really?" said the dying antelope. "It will repay you? Just wait and see! The way it will repay you is to let you die!"

After the antelope died, Gopanikulfa returned to his tribe, and at the beginning of the next month, he returned to the place where he rescued the python.

Insardo was lying on the ground, just finished a big meal, a little drowsy.Seeing Gopanikupa, it thanked him again and said, "Please come with me to Pita Kingdom. That is my kingdom. In my property, I will give you whatever you fancy."

Gopanikku felt scared at first when he remembered what the antelope said, but in the end he couldn't stand the temptation, so he followed Insado into the forest.

They walked for several days, and finally came to a very deep cave. The opening is not wide, but big enough for a person to pass through. "Hold on to my tail," said Insardo, "I will go down first, and I will pull you down later." Gopanikulfa did as he was told, and followed Insardo into the cave.

And so they kept falling, deeper and deeper into the ground. After many days, they finally came out of the dark cave and fell into a beautiful country. There are green lawns everywhere, and cattle and sheep are grazing on them.In the distance, there is a large group of stone-built houses, all of similar size, with roofs made of gold and bright iron, shining in the sunlight.

Gopanikul turned his head to look for Insado, but he found that standing behind him was a strong and handsome young man, wrapped in green snakeskin, with a collar made of pure gold wrapped around his arms and neck.

The man smiled and said, "I am Insado. I appeared in human form in my own country, which is what you see me now. This is the country of Pita, and I am the king of this land!" He said As he spoke, he took Gopanikulfa's hand and walked towards the city.

Along the way, they passed several rivers, where many men and women were bathing, fishing, and rowing.Going forward is the farm, where rice and corn are planted, and there are many grains that even Gopanikupa can't name. When they passed the farm, the people who were working in the fields put down their work, saluted Insardo happily, and brought them toddy and green cocoa beans to eat, so that they could relieve their fatigue, as if treating Like those who return from a long journey.

"They are my children!" Insardo said, waving to people.Gopanikupa was very surprised to see all this, but he said nothing. After a while, they came to the city.Everything is so beautiful here, even the dust of the streets is made of gold and silver. Here, you can get whatever you want.

Insado took Gopanikul into the palace, showed him his room, and told him that there would be a grand dinner to welcome him in the evening, and that he could choose the place he wanted in the country of Pita the next day. He wants the treasure, it is what he deserves. After speaking, Insardo left.

Gopanikul had a wasp named Zankimiz.Zankimiz is not an ordinary wasp, because Gopanikulfa's father's soul is attached to him, so he is very intelligent.Whenever Gopanikulfa has any doubts, he will ask it for advice, and the Hornets will tell him what is the best way to do it.He took the wasp out of the straw basket he carried with him, and said, "Zankimitz, what gift should I ask for tomorrow?"

"Buzz buzz..." Zankimiz hummed, "Ask him for Mirror Spao." After saying that, it flew back into the basket.

Gopanikul was surprised when he heard this, but he knew that Zankimiz must be right, so he decided to make this request. So that night, he happily attended the dinner party.

On the second day, Insado came to find Gopanikupa, greeted him happily and said, "Okay, friend, choose from my property, choose whatever you want, and it belongs to you!"

"Your Majesty!" Gopanikulfa replied, "I want the mirror Spao."

King Insardo was taken aback. "Well, Gopanikulfa," he said, "you can ask for anything but a mirror, choose something else! You don't want me to give you the most precious thing!"

"Then let me think again, Your Majesty," said Gopanikulfa, "and I will tell you what I want tomorrow."

Although Gopanikupa said so, the king was still very upset and worried about losing Spao, because the mirror had magic power. As long as the owner of the mirror made a wish, the mirror would help him realize it. All the property of Insado It is all given by this mirror.

As soon as the king was gone, Gopanikupa released Zankimiz from the basket again. "Zankimitz," he said, "the king seems reluctant to give me the mirror. Can't something else be used instead of that mirror?"

The wasp replied: "Gopanikupa, in this world there is nothing more precious than this mirror, because it is a wishing mirror that can help its owner to fulfill any wish. If the king refuses to give it, You can ask him tomorrow, if he refuses tomorrow, ask him the day after tomorrow until he is willing to give you the mirror. He will give it to you, after all, you saved his life!"

Gopanikul listened and did so.For three days, Gopanikku sent the same answer to the king, asking for the mirror. Finally, Insado handed him a shiny iron mirror with tears in his eyes, saying: , take Spao, I hope all your wishes come true. Now you can go back to your own country, and Spao will show you the way."

Gopanikupa was very happy, and after saying goodbye to the king, he said to the mirror, "Spao, Spao, I want to go back to the earth!"

After a while, he found himself back on the ground, but he didn't know where it was, and asked the mirror again: "Spao, Spao, I want to go back to my tribe."

Sure enough, look! The road was immediately in front of him!
Returning home along the road, he found his wife and daughter mourning for him, thinking he had been eaten by a lion.At this moment, they were surprised and delighted to see Gopanikul sent back.He comforted them by saying that he had lost his way while chasing a wounded antelope, and it took him a long time to find his way back.

That night, he asked Zankimitz, the wasp with his father's soul, what he'd better ask Spao next.

"Buzz," said the Wasp, "wouldn't you like to be as great a chief as Insardon?"

Gopanikul smiled slightly and said to the mirror: "Spao, Spao, I want a city as big as the city of King Insado of Pita Kingdom, and I want to be the leader of this city!"

After finishing speaking, along the nearby Zambezi River, streets appeared immediately. Stone houses were built on the streets. The roofs of the houses were made of gold and iron sheets, shining like the houses in Pita.People were walking on the street, boys were driving cattle and sheep to graze, and there were shouts and laughter from the riverside of boys and girls, some of them were launching boats, and some were fishing. The people were very happy to see Gopanikulfa, and they cheered like they would a leader.

Gopanikupa realized that he was now as great as Insado, the king of pythons! He and his family moved into the palace, which was built on a hillside overlooking the city center. His wife was amazed by these miracles, but she didn't know where to ask.His daughter Sasser kept asking her father how he suddenly became so powerful. Finally, he couldn't stand his daughter's questioning, told the whole secret, and gave the mirror Spao to his daughter for safekeeping, and said to her: "Daughter, if you don't live with us, it's safer to put it with you. I’m afraid that when others come to talk to me about state affairs, they will take the opportunity to steal the mirror.”

So Sasa took the magic mirror and hid it under the pillow. In this way, the people lived under the wise rule of Gopanikulfa for many years, everyone loved him very much, and he never asked the magic mirror Spao to help him realize any wish.

Years passed like this, and as he got older, Gopanikul's hair also turned gray.Suddenly one day, some white people came to his country. They went up the Zambezi River and fought for a long time with the country of Gopanikupa. But, thanks to the magic of the magic mirror, those white people were defeated and fled to the sea. There was a chief among the white people who was very cunning and wanted to find out where the magic power of Gopanikupa came from. One day, he called his loyal servant Bhutto and said to him, "Go to the city and find out his powerful secret."

So Bhutto set off dressed as a beggar. When he came to the city of Gopanikupah, he asked about their leaders. They brought him before Gopanikupa, and when he saw Gopanikupa, he said humbly, "O sir! Have pity on me, I am homeless! When they march against you, I was the only one who did not participate, because I knew that all the power was in your hands. Because I would not fight against you, they drove me into the forest to starve me to death!"

Gopanikupa believed his words, took him in, had a good meal, and gave him a room to live in.

In this way, the end of Gopanikulfa is coming soon!Sassa, the daughter of Gopanikulfa, fell in love with the spy Bhutto, and Bhutto learned the secret of the magic mirror from Sassa. One night, when the whole town was asleep, Bhutto quietly got out of bed, stole the mirror, and fled back to his master with it.

The end is finally here! Not long after, one day, Gopanikulfa was sitting in the palace and staring at the river outside the window. Suddenly he saw the white man's warship again, and he felt uneasy immediately.

"Sasather! My daughter!" he yelled urgently, "Get my mirror quickly, the white man is coming!"

"Father, bad luck!" she whimpered. "The mirror is gone! It's all because I'm in love with that spy Bhutto, who stole the mirror from me, Spao!"

Gopanikul was surprised, but he still tried to calm himself down. The most important thing now is to find a way to repel the enemy. He thought of Zankimiz the Hornet, and let it out of the straw basket.

"Oh, father!" said he, "what shall I do now?"

"Oh, Gopanikupa!" snorted the Wasp. "Nothing can be done now. Do you remember that you once killed an antelope? What it said when it died is now being fulfilled."

"My God! I am old—forgot!" he cried. "The words of the Antelope are true, and my reward is destruction. Its words are true!"

At this point the whites attacked and killed Gopanikupa, his daughter Sasas and his people. From then on, that land has been owned by the white people, because they own the mirror Spao.
