Travel by goose

Chapter 11 Reunion

Chapter 11 Reunion

Gorgo flew north with the little boy, who fell asleep during the flight because he was so tired. When he woke up, he was lying at the bottom of a large valley. He got up and looked around, and then his eyes fell on the cliff, where there was a house made of pine branches. He knew that it was here that the eagles lived on the cliffs and the wild geese lived in the valleys. He had arrived at his destination, and he would soon meet the gander, Ika, and all his traveling companions.

The little boy walked forward slowly, looking for his partner. The sun had not yet hit the cliff, and the whole valley was silent, while the wild geese were still resting. He stopped before he had gone far, for he saw a very beautiful scene.A female goose sleeps in a small nest on the ground with a male goose standing beside her.The male goose is also sleeping, but he stands very close to the female, so as to be ready for danger at any time.

The little boy did not find Aika and the others, so he continued walking. He found a goose nest in a willow grove, and saw a pair of familiar geese hatching eggs in a bush. When he came to a bush, he was pleasantly surprised to see the white gander guarding the gray goose Meiyu.

He went on for a long time, and found something like gray grass on the knoll. It's Aika! She stood awake looking around, as if guarding the whole valley.

"Hi, old Aika!" said the little boy. "It's good that you're not asleep! Please don't wake everyone up. I want to talk to you alone."

Aika flew down from the hill. She hugged the little boy tightly, shook his shoulders, stroked him up and down with her mouth, and then shook him again.

The little boy kissed Eika on both cheeks, and then began to tell about his experience after falling into the sea.

"Now I want to tell you that Smeer was taken into the park. He always squatted there with a sad face, longing to be free. Once I heard a dog say that someone wanted to buy a fox in the park to destroy an island. Infested with rats. I told the fox about it, made him behave in front of people, and got him. He listened to me, and now he runs free on that island. Look at this How am I doing?"

"I'd do the same if I were you," Eka said.

"I'm so glad you can say that. There's one more thing I had to ask you for. One day I saw Gorgo in an iron cage. He looked desperate, so I wanted to saw Break the wire from his cage and let him go. Do you think I'm right? Wouldn't it be better to keep him in a cage?"

"Vultures are more proud than other animals and love freedom more. It's not okay to lock them up. Let's go to that cage now and rescue Gorgo." Aika said.

"I expected you to say that," said the little boy. "It was said that you didn't like him because he had to live like a vulture, but that doesn't seem to be the case now. If you want to send me back I think you'll see him on the cliff if you say thank you."
