Chapter 269 Accident (1)

Not long after the thief sold the jade pillow, a team of officials from the Dali Temple approached him. It turned out that when he sold the jade pillow, the other party discovered that the jade pillow belonged to the palace.

It's convenient to send people to Dali Temple to report the thief, and then take the yamen servants to catch the thief. The thief didn't expect that he would fall into the net so quickly.

"That's him?" the leading yamen servant pointed to the thieves surrounded by them, and asked the guides around him.

"That's right! This is the person who sold this jade pillow to our pawn shop. Our shopkeeper found out that this jade pillow was an item in the palace and asked me to report it." The guide said humanely.

"Take it!" After confirmation, the leader of the yamen servant ordered the thief to be taken back for interrogation. This thief was really too bold to steal something into the palace.

The yamen servants swarmed up, subdued the thief, locked him up and took him back to Dali Temple for interrogation.

The Dali Temple is going up to ask the case, and a small case like this usually does not need a bigwig like the Dali Temple Minister to try it.

At first the thief denied it, but when he put the jade pillow in front of him, he couldn't deny it!

"Where did this jade pillow come from? Hurry up and get it!" Dali Sizheng said.

This jade pillow is a royal item, which has been verified by Dali Temple. This jade pillow is one of the dowry bestowed by His Majesty the Emperor on Princess Gaoyang's marriage.

This jade pillow is exquisite and finely crafted, and the jade is carved from high-quality Hetian jade, which is expensive. Since it is a royal item, this jade pillow is not for sale.

Dali Temple suspects that the thief came from Princess Gaoyang's mansion to steal. While interrogating the thief here, they also sent people to Princess Gaoyang's mansion to ask if there was anything stolen.

Princess Gao Yang didn't know that the jade pillow she gave to Bianji had gone to Dali Temple, but she just told the people of Dali Temple that there was no robbery or loss of property in the house.

Dali Temple is puzzled, obviously the princess's jade pillow was stolen, why the princess refused to admit it?So he caught the thief for interrogation.

"I stole out of a monk's room in a temple. I wanted to exchange some money to have a good time, but who knew that I was caught by you." The hairy thief said.

This thief is also considered unlucky, but it's not good to steal anything, he insists on stealing the token that Princess Gao Yang gave to Bian Ji.

Sizheng was even more puzzled, how could another temple be pulled out so well, and what did this matter have to do with monks.

"Tell me carefully, what is going on, which temple are you talking about? Give me a complete explanation." Sizheng said.

"Yes! I don't remember the exact name of the temple, but I still know the way, so I can show you there." The thief said, telling the whole story of his crime.

The more the thief said that, the more he felt that things were not that simple.

"You guys escort this thief to the temple he said, and investigate this matter thoroughly!" Dali Temple hurriedly said.

"No!" The yamen servant took the order, escorted the thief out of Dali Temple, and went to the temple he said to check whether what the thief said was true.

When they came to the temple that the thief mentioned, the yamen servant saw a young novice cleaning the courtyard, and immediately stepped forward and said, "Little master, we are the tolerance of Dali Temple, and we have something to see you, sir."

"Several benefactors, please wait here. I'll invite you to sit here." The little novice clasped his hands together, turned and went inside to find Xuanzang.

"Your Majesty! Some people from the Gongmen came outside and said they are from Dali Temple. I need you if I have something to do!" The little novice came to Xuanzang and said.

Xuanzang, who was knocking on the wooden fish and chanting sutras with his eyes closed, opened his eyes after hearing this, stopped knocking on the wooden fish and asked, "Where is the man now?"

Xuanzang wondered, why did the people from Dali Temple come to him?Definitely not here to learn.

"Just wait outside the temple!" said the little monk.

Xuanzang got up and walked out of the temple, and the little novice followed Xuanzang to the outside of the temple.

"Amitabha!" Xuanzang clasped his hands together and proclaimed the Buddha's name: "I don't know why you are looking for this poor monk?"

"Master, did you lose something in this temple?" the servant of the Dali Temple asked.

They came this time to find out why Princess Gaoyang's jade pillow was in this temple.

Either the monks in the temple became greedy and stole the princess's jade pillow, or the princess believed in Buddhism and gave the jade pillow to the temple.

"Please wait a moment, I will send someone to look for it." Xuanzang said, then turned to the little novice behind him and said, "Go around and ask, if there is anything missing."

"Yes!" The little novice responded, turned and left, and soon the little novice went back and said, "Everything is normal in the temple, and nothing is missing."

"If you haven't lost anything, maybe some of you made a mistake! You should go elsewhere to find it! So as not to disturb the pure place of Buddhism." Xuanzang said.

"I'm bothering Master! But I caught a thief in Dali Temple. According to him, he stole something from your temple. Please, Master, let us go in and confirm." Dali Temple clerk said.

Now that they have come, there is no reason to return empty-handed. It is absolutely impossible not to search the temple. They will also take away the people related to the case.

"If that's the case! Then please come in!" Xuanzang said, getting out of the way and letting the servants of the Dali Temple come in.

"Where did you steal the item, take us there to see it." The yamen servant escorted the thief in and asked.

"Go this way!" The thief led everyone to a monk's house and said, "This is it!"

"Master! What is this place for?" the yamen servant asked.

Xuanzang wondered, could it be that some monk's belongings were stolen, which attracted people from the Gongmen, but they are monks who are practitioners, and they usually have nothing, so there is nothing to be stolen.

"This is a monk's house, where the monks of our monastery live." Xuanzang said.

"Can we go in and take a look?" the yamen servant asked, they were getting closer and closer to unraveling the truth!
"Yes!" Xuanzang said, seeing Bianji just appeared, he called Bianji, "Bianji, open the door, some people from the Gongmen want to go in and check."

Bianji was puzzled, why did the people from the Gongmen come to him to see something when they were full, but he did not disobey Xuanzang's words, and opened the door anyway.

All the people filed in, and there was Datong shop inside. Several monks lived in the same room and slept on the same kang on weekdays.

The thief pointed directly at a bed and said, "The things were taken out from under that pillow."

This bed is exactly the bed of Bianji, Xuanzang is still at a loss, but Bianji suddenly understands that the thing that Princess Gaoyang gave him has been stolen!

The yamen servant turned to Xuanzang and Bianji and said, "Which monk is sleeping here?"

Bian Ji took a step forward and said, "This position belongs to the poor monk."
