Chapter 230: Don’t panic

The gaokao is coming up, and she wants to use it to get closer to Lu Chen. 'I can help brother Chen with his studies!' She'll continue to get closer to Lu Chen without any trouble.

However, Lu Chen broke any thoughts of that.

"I'll be fine, Meixiu. With the class monitor's help before, I just need some light studying to get back."  But then he asks, "So Meixiu, what's the reason why you came with us to lunch?" 

Knowing how his sister operates, he knows she has other reasons why she came with them.

"I came here to protect you, brother Chen!" She was making do with what she said at the hospital. With her around, she wasn't going to let anybody get close to Lu Chen!

When Lu Chen heard that, he shook his head, "Don't you worry about me. I can take care of myself."

Even though Lu Chen said this, what he really thought was, 'And I don't want to get killed by your fans.' 

"How could I not worry?! Brother Chen, I don't want to leave your side!" Ye Meixiu hugs his arms as she sheds tears. 

"Do you not want me to be here?" When everybody heard that, they glared at Lu Chen! Her soft and delicate voice was honey, caressing their hearts. And seeing his teary face, all their hatred was directed to the cause.

How could you make our angel cry! They were about to grab the sharpest object closest to them, ready to attack Lu Chen. 

'Aww. Come on!' Lu Chen quickly tries to comfort her, "No, no, no. I didn't mean it like that. I just don't want to bother you." 

"But I don't think it's a bother. I want to be by your side." The students couldn't believe how precious Ye Meixiu was.

All of them could just die from the sight of their angel giving them some care. 

"What am I going to do with you?" Lu Chen pats her head at how good of a girl she was. 'There should be an issue of being too nice.' 

"But you don't need to worry so much tho, Meixiu. It's not like I'm going to die the moment I'm away from you." 

"But but-"

"No buts. Just finish your food. Also, I already know who sent those thugs my way, so no worries." The moment Lu Chen said this, the other three went wide-eyed.

"Who is it?!" All three of them said in unison, making Lu  Chen almost put the food up his nose. Lu Chen shook it off,

"You guys don't need to be bothered about it." Lu Chen knows how to deal with it. However, Ye Meixiu begs to differ,

"Brother Chen, let me deal with the person! I'm going to tear their privates off!" Ye Meixiu's ready to call all available fighters she can to cripple the guy!

"Pipe down and eat your food. And don't say you're going to rip privates off. That's so unladylike." He could see all the guys folding their legs together when Ye Meixiu shouted.

"But brother Cheeeeeeeen" Ye Meixiu was ready to do everything for Lu Chen.

And she wasn't alone, as Zhang Jian chimes in, "She's right. If we know, we should deal with the culprit right now." He got a bone to pick with the person for causing such a problem for him.

"No. We don't need to deal with the culprit now." Lu Chen didn't say anything else about it as he continued to eat his food. 

Ye Meixiu pouts, and Zhang Jian sighs. Neither of their consistent shoutings was getting through to Lu Chen. 

And Feng Meifeng, who was watching the whole thing, couldn't figure it out. 'Which one is her real face?' She couldn't tell which side is the real Ye Meixiu. There were too many different changes to tell.

Once the four finished their lunches, they walked back to their classroom. 

While they walked through the hallway, they met with Gao Jinhai and their lackeys. The two groups made eye contact the moment they sensed each other's presence. 

Ye Meixiu made a stink face at him, still remembering how he acted towards Lu Chen at the library. 

Gao Jinhai continues to act haughtily. On the inside, his brain was full of worry. 

'Don't panic. Lu Chen doesn't know about anything, and I have cleared all the evidence that could come back to me.’
