She agreed so quickly, without a moments thought for herself. Resentment started to build in my chest as I realized once again this little dragon would put her in harm's way. I swore to protect her from everything but here she was about to embark on something I couldn't help her with, and I was expected to be ok with it.

'I sense conflict on your heart young one.'

The dragon known as Landon mindlinked with me now.

"Of course I'm conflicted," I said angrily.

"How can I just sit back while she subjects herself to pain, again?!"

'There is no other choice. none of us want to have this happen.'

"Micah?" she touched my arm speaking softly.

"I can't let you do this..." I grabbed her face gently in my hands, tears welling up in my eyes.

"I have to. Felix has his destiny to fulfill and we have our lives to start. We can't go on and be together if I can't break the imprinting bond." She forced my chin up to make eye contact.

"I love you Micah, I need you by my side. You are my strength."

"How can i be your strength when i feel so helpless?"

"You're stronger than you realize." She kissed me gently before turning to Landon

"I'm ready."

'This way please.'

The mighty dragon led us further down into the mountain to an alter, at each of the four corners laid chains. Either this happened often enough to need a place like this or this was a torture chamber.

"Haha I know it seems suspicious little one.' Landon laughed at my rigid expression

I nodded guiding Eleanor to the first alter, gently changing her arms and legs, I planted a kiss on her forehead. Felix was next, he gave me a low growl as I attempted to guide him to the next alter. After a large struggle I got him chained down.

"Will it hurt both of them?" I asked.

'No, his scales are thick so it'll be more of a tickle. However she lacks the thick hide of a dragon so it will feel quite painful.'

I winced at his answer.

'It goes by quick young one.' He said with sympathy as he wrapped his wing around me, I assume it was the dragons way of comforting me.

"Let's get it over with. "

'DRACO!' Landon hollered for the dragon who was going to complete the ritual.

From above us a whooshing sound filled the cavern we were in, a large black dragon dropped onto the ledge directly above us.

'It's show time' It grinned .
