A Failure's hopeful Journey

While the squad was arranging formations. Maddison at midnight suddenly felt You Xi Wang in her arms wake up. She said to him in a soft voice, "You should rest now. It is fine."

You Xi Wang replied, "It is fine. You don't have to worry, teacher." he placed his hands on her shoulders and broke away from the embrace. He said, "I am fine, just need to meditate." with that said, he sat on the ground and crossed his legs. The Five elements sutra ran through his body, nourishing him with spiritual energy. 

The system was taking control of You Xi Wang as his body was too exhausted to support his soul. The secondary soul (the system) was much more efficient in controlling the basic functions when the main soul was tired. Yes, the boy exhausted his soul and body in the last attack. This was the pressure of letting the spirit energy in the surrounding be funneled into the weapon. 

The system first had to restore the energy of the body and then the soul. Thus, he came out and took control instantly. Maddison was bewildered at this for a second. She sighed and said, "Don't push yourself too much."

Her words were not responded, but she sensed the boy nod gently. She smiled and walked back to Riaz. She said, "Go back to the command center, the elders will be here soon, you will greet them. I will stay here in case any abrupt changes occur."

Deputy Riaz nodded. He discussed some other thing and left after a salute. Fenny walked over to Maddison and covered her eyes from behind and asked in a deep voice, "Guess who?"

Maddison smiled, "I guess, my cutest and sweetest Fenny." she spoke with a chuckle. The other party took back her hands and bent down, making puking sounds. She then said, "Say, teacher, why do you always have to curse me with those words? How would I face the people when we go back to school? Oh, big momma lost all her face."

Maddison chuckled as she saw Fenny's antics. She asked, "How are the others doing?"

Fenny turned serious. "They can put up a fight but not 100%. I have given them a ten-minute rotation to rest and rejuvenate the energy. Hopefully, the undead won't react much now."

Maddison nodded and asked, "If you had that weapon at hands, why did you call me over?"

Fenny replied, "We made a deal of four shots. I knew this pretentious prick will go to the fifth shot which will take out 40% of the undead, but he took the sixth shot. Let this situation diffuse and I will have Yuki squeeze his balls blue." she snorted at the end.

Maddison blushed slightly and chuckled. She was a maiden after all, and this rogue-ish girl was just too blatant in her art of cursing. She shook her head and saw a lieutenant walking over to them. The boy had his face covered with the mask attached to the battle suit. He spoke, "First Officer, there is movement in the ruins. The build is trembling and is crumbling bit by bit."

The young man was Issac. His words shocked the two ladies. Fenny scowled, "Can you ever say something good, Issac?" then with a sigh, she said, "Commander, would you like to come over and look?" the three people walked back to the front squad. 

Maddison took out a binocular and gazed at the ruins. Fenny spoke at the side, "It seems my guess was correct."

Issac nodded and said, "Yes, the law wielder is sealed."

Maddison asked, "Can you guys let me in on this?" her voice was helpless. She did not know how these kids were acting like elders in front of her. She did not know the full situation, that was it.

Fenny replied, "The law wielder did not attack us when You Xi Wang used the Heavenly Tribulation. We guessed that he/she is sealed inside. Otherwise, give the volatile nature of the dark creatures, why would they take such a big slap from a bunch of kids lying down?"

Maddison nodded as she spoke, "What you say is correct but since the entity is sealed, why can it affect the undead? To control them? This thing is anything but simple."

As the three were discussing something, they heard a tired voice in the comms, "The seal is self-inflicted." the voice belonged to You Xi Wang. He could hear their communication. The system perks. 

Maddison asked, "What do you mean?" she was confused.

You Xi Wang replied, "I mean, that the seal is self-inflicted because someone powerful enough to cast the seal would have killed the law wielder directly. That is why the dark creature is struggling to break free from the seal."

His words were not understood by the others. Suddenly they all felt a big tremor. The epicenter was the ruin. Fenny spoke, "Defensive positions!"

The squad formed a line of shield and phaser spears. Suddenly they heard a creepy peal of laughter coming from the ruins. The people all froze at this sound. A shrill voice spoke, "You little bitches, dare to play with me? I will have you all shredded and stewed." it was loud but not angry. It was as if someone was teasing them.

You Xi Wang who was meditating opened his eyes and glanced at the ruin. He could see a beautiful woman sitting inside a circle. All around her lay the debris. Yet she could not walk out of the seal. He said, "Try to get out of that seal first. Then we will see."

His voice was calm, yet loud enough to travel to the lady. Everyone in the squad gazed at her on an alert. Suddenly, the lady opened her closed eyes. Her empty eyes scared everyone, and they raised their feet to retreat when they heard a calm voice, "STEADY."

You Xi Wang spat out a command. The line stabilized. The law wielder laughed at the scene. She said, "You are quite an interesting one. It has been ages since I have faced someone like you. Come, let me have a taste of your flesh." she let out a peal of laughter. 

You Xi Wang spat one sentence and stopped the lady's laughter, "Lier. You have harmed none ever since you stepped into the darkness." his words shocked the squad and Maddison. But since they all had their gazes pointed at the lady, they understood their captain has seen through the lady. She had shock spelled over her face.
