A Failure's hopeful Journey

Under the battle platform, the whole crowd was silent, while over the platform screams of anguish sounded every time You Xi Wang moved. It has been five minutes and despite having a difference of three minor realms, Zack O'Neil could not counter You Xi Wang in the slightest. Let alone counter he wasn't even able to dodge or block You Xi Wang's sword. 

The sword was so fast that it would come out of its sheath, a black arc will flash and the next moment the sword was sheathed again. This shocked people, they watched as You Xi Wang toyed with Zack O'Neil, he could have killed him anytime he wanted but he kept wounding him with that horrible sword. It was now that they realized the horror of You Xi Wang. Some elders from the academy faculty saw this and wanted to stop this battle, but they also saw that You Xi Wang was in a calm state of mind and there were no fluctuations in his mood. It was as if a non-living robot was attacking Zack. If You Xi Wang projected a rejoicing expression or mindset, then he will be stopped. But he did not, so they understood he was doing all this to leave a mark in Zack's mind.

You Xi Wang suddenly distanced himself from Zack O'Neil. He put back his long sword and took out the newly gained Brawler Glovers. He looked at Zack opposite to him, hair disheveled, cut marks all over the body. His handsome appearance was now shattered. He was like a beggar in front of a beast. This beast was, of course, You Xi Wang. 

You Xi Wang spoke, "Come, let me test my new skills."

Zack gritted his teeth and was about to admit defeat. But will he be given such a good opportunity? The answer was a chopping side palm on his throat, making him unable to speak. His chop interrupted his vocal cords. Zack held his throat with his right hand he was ferocious when he saw that You Xi Wang did not want him to get away by admitting defeat. Zack stabbed his spear and You Xi Wang took a side step and patted the spearhead with his right hand, deflecting it to his left. He used wind spiritual energy and fused it in his calf muscles. His muscles contracted, and he took a step forward. The spiritual energy boost allowed him to close the distance of 10 feet in just one step, and what followed next was a blow to Zack right in his lower right torso. 

Zack bent slightly only to take an uppercut moving from below to kiss his nose. Zack's head flew up and then it was a crazy and brutal barrage of punches on his face from left and right. To put maximum force in his blows You Xi Wang bobbed his head forming a horizontal eight in the air and used the kinetic force in his blows and delivered the heavy payload right on Zack's face, which did not look handsome at all. Blood splashed and teeth flew, You Xi Wang did not stop. His fists were moving through the air, producing a whooshing sound. 

BANG!

The last punch connected and Zack fell down on the ground. You Xi Wang took deep breaths, he took off his gloves and what everyone saw made them realize that You Xi Wang was also suffering while he was clobbering down on Zack's face, but he was so angry that he did not stop at all. His fists were bloody, his knuckles were scraped, and his fists were shivering. The crowd too sucked in a deep breath. 

"You dared to speak shit about my sister. What are you? I have been tolerating you and your bullshit for a long time now. Did you think my silence is my weakness? Or did you think that my sister's pride is something you can joke about and get away with? You are nothing but a bundle of bones and flesh, even if a god someday tries to take liberties with my sister, I will slay him. If a demon lusted for my sister, I will slay him. Anyone dares to calculate on my sister I will slay him regardless of their power. No one can force my sister to do anything she does not want to." he paused and his gaze swept over the crowd. When they saw the coldness in his gaze they all flinched. They finally understood what can happen if you play with the dragon's reverse scale. 

You Xi Wang continued, "I will say this one last time. If you want to pursue my sister, do it, but if my sister said no, then you better leave respectfully lest you hinder her, and believe me you don't want that. " he turned towards Zack O'Neil who was looking at him with half-closed eyes, shivering in fear. You Xi Wang took out his sword. He wanted to chop this guy into pieces. He walked towards Zack O'Neil step by step, and the latter crawled back in trepidation. Before long You Xi Wang was already standing in front of him. The reason Zack could not put up any resistance was the flame poison in the blade of Purgatory. The ember will slowly burn you from inside out once you are slashed by that blade. 

You Xi Wang looked at Zack lying at his feet.

A shining black blade came out of the white sheath and the whole arena felt gloomy. The elders in the spectators emitted their aura, and the gloominess lightened. This was the domain of Purgatory, if You Xi Wang was any stronger, this whole area would even look like hell itself. Suddenly, the atmosphere turned sharp. The students in year four and above were stunned. It was said that one may not figure out weapon intents even if they use a weapon for all their lives. Now when they saw this teen in front of them using sword intent. They felt like donkeys. You Xi Wang raised his sword high over his head and he was ready to chop his head off. He exhaled and swung down with force. Just then a voice sounded from the edge of the spectators.

"Gougou, stop, don't kill him." but the person understood it was already late when she saw the black arc.

An ear grating sound rang out, but since everyone was a cultivator, they did not even notice it. The sword did descend but the sword intent did not chop off Zack's head but the sword intent slashed the platform two inches above his head. Over the platform, You Xi Wang raised his head and followed the direction the sound originated. At the edge of the spectators, he found his sister standing. You Xi Wang was hesitant, but looking at the eased expression on his sister's face he stored his sword first. He looked at the lady and spoke, "I will let him go." 

Mrs. O'Neil spoke, "I have sworn an oath in front of miss Zhichi, and for my foolish son I will swear one in front of you, Young Master Wang." just as she was about to continue, You Xi Wang came down the platform and stood in front of her. He smiled and bowed down to her. He spoke in a soft voice, "Aunty, I dare not say that I am a dragon but yes my family and friends are my reverse scale. When my parents were alive, they took care of us, and I said nothing about how Zack pursued my sister. Now they are not here. Before they left the world, my parents asked me to take care of my sister, to safeguard her dignity and her happiness. I will do anything and bear any burden for her. I know you also have a daughter, so you might understand my words better than that guy on the platform. I hope you forgive me if I was out of line."

His words were sincere and everyone approved of the way You Xi Wang dealt with it. They all knew that he did it for his sister, but they forget to count the fact that these siblings were now without parents and their bond was now even stronger than it was in the past. Mrs. O'Neil was also touched by these words. As a mother, she understood the plight of this boy in front of her. Zack who was on the stage also heard these words and tears formed in his eyes. He recalled how he treated his younger sister with love and respect and if any scumbag came to tarnish her reputation then will he not do something like what You Xi Wang did? Of course, he would.

He decided he would not seek revenge but admit his fault and change his ways. Just as he was planning his apology. You Xi Wang came back up onto the stage. He looked at the proctor and said, "I admit defeat." 

The proctor smiled at this and said, "The match is over." he did not announce a winner because he knew that You Xi Wang only admitted defeat for the sake of ending the match. This display of his chivalry earned him the respect of not only the students but also several elders in the crowd. You Xi Wang took out his sword and just when everyone was wondering what he wanted to do? You Xi Wang unsheathed the sword and closed his eyes. He communicated with the sword spirit and the flame inside Zack's body all rushed out, forming an exquisite looking blackbird. The bird flew around You Xi Wang in circles twice before fusing back with the sword.

The wounds on Zack's body did not burn anymore. He felt relieved and was about to stand up and apologize to the pair of siblings, but You Xi Wang turned and said, "I only believe in actions and not hollow words. I will still cut you down if I find there is a next time." and jumped down the stage.

Zack understood that if You Zhichi did not stop her brother at that moment from the edge of the crowd, then he would have crossed over lake Styx and not lying in the world of the living.
