A magical journey that begins in Azkaban

Chapter 12 A unique magic wand

Pushing open the small shop door, the bell hanging inside rang, notifying Mr. Ollivander that a customer had arrived.

Roger followed Professor McGonagall into the wand shop, which was more crowded than in the movie. Stepping on the creaking floor, the wand box stuffed to the ceiling shook.

"Minerva McGonagall, if I remember correctly, your wand is made of fir, has a dragon heartstring core, and is 9 and 1/2 inches long." Standing behind the counter was an old man with gray hair. He smiled. He looked at Professor McGonagall.

"You have a very good memory, Mr. Ollivander." Professor McGonagall responded with a smile, "I brought the new student Roger to give him a new wand."

"Oh, new life!" Ollivander's eyes lit up, "Come young man, let's see which wand chooses you."

Mr. Ollivander picked up the ruler and measured Roger's arm length, forearm, height, head circumference and other dimensions. Rogge looked helplessly at Professor McGonagall. This was the second time he was being measured today. He even felt that Mr. Ollivander was more careful and comprehensive than Mrs. Malkin.

"Mr. Ollivander, I am just a child now. Is it really useful to measure these?"

"Oh, of course, of course it works, my child." Mr. Ollivander said enthusiastically, "Wand matching is a complex magical knowledge. You need to find the wand that best suits the wizard and understand the physical characteristics of the user. It’s a very important first step.”

"Your body will continue to grow, but your physical characteristics and skeletal structure will reflect your personality and talents."

Mr. Ollivander explained while writing down Rogge's various physical data on paper, "These can provide me with important reference to help determine the wand length, core material and other factors that best suit you."

"Wizard, you must see the essence through the appearance. Don't worry, we will definitely find the wand that suits you best!" Mr. Ollivander said with confidence.

"I understand. Thank you for your teaching, Mr. Ollivander." Rogge nodded. After two lifetimes, he was about to have his own wand, and Rogge was filled with anticipation.

Based on Roger's physical data, Ollivander pulled out several boxes of wands from the store that looked like they might match.

"Here, let's try this one first. It's made of hawthorn wood. It has the core of the bird's feathers. It's 12 inches. It's fairly elastic."

Rogge took the wand and waved it, but it only blew out a small stream of cold wind.

"No, no, it's not appropriate." Ollivander shook his head. It seemed that Rogge would be a picky guest.

He immediately took back his wand and took out another one: "What about this one, cherry wood, dragon heartstring core, 10 inches, very tough."

Roger waved the magic wand, and the vase in the store exploded with a bang.

"My vase!" Mr. Ollivander exclaimed, then shook his head with a smile, "It doesn't matter, it doesn't seem to match very well."

Next, Roger tried several wands such as boxwood and yew, but either had no response or produced chaotic effects.

"Hmm... he is indeed a picky guest." Mr. Ollivander said to himself, "Don't worry, I think I have a wand that may be very suitable for you..."

As he spoke, he took out a brand new box, which contained a special wand.

"Here, try this one, holly wood, phoenix tail feather core, 11 inches, elastic and flexible."

"Uh... this seems to be Harry Potter's wand. Did I cut it off?" Rogge stared at the wand and took it anyway.

He looked at Professor McGonagall. Minerva thought that Rogge was worried that the wand would still be inappropriate, so she encouraged him with a smile: "Wave it, Rogge. The wand will choose its wizard friend."

Rogge nodded and waved lightly, but there was no response.

"Ha... I was shocked! Let Harry Potter and Voldemort continue to be entangled in their bad relationship."

Ollivander frowned slightly, shouldn't be. He scratched his Beethoven-like white hair, squatted down and took out the box from the bottom shelf.

This is a wand made of sandalwood with a length of 12 inches and a spiral shape that looks unique and elegant. At the heart of the wand is Kirin Heartstring, a rare and powerful magical material.

As soon as Roger held the wand, a dazzling golden light shot out, and beautiful sparks exploded in the store.

"Great, this is the right one!" Mr. Ollivander announced happily, "Rosewood, unicorn heartstrings, 12 inches, very tough."

"Mr. Ollivander, are you talking about the Kirin Heartstring?" Professor McGonagall looked at the wand in Rogge's hand and asked Ollivander nervously.

"Minerva, calm down!" Ollivander raised his hand, signaling McGonagall to listen to him. "The unicorn heartstring in the wand does not belong to Newt, and it has nothing to do with Grindelwald. This is The corpse of an adult unicorn provided to me by the Ministry of Magic 60 years ago is completely legal, so please don't worry."

"Now, let me break down the meaning of this wand for you,"

"Ebony wood is a rare material. In order to match the Kirin Heartstrings, I found this wood specially from the Far East. It represents that the owner of the wand usually has a firm will and noble goals. Secondly, the spiral design represents the continuity of life. and endless possibilities.”

"In Eastern culture, the unicorn is a sacred creature that symbolizes good luck and peace. Using the unicorn heartstring as the core indicates that this wand has powerful protective and healing abilities."

"Finally, the 12-inch length is a perfect choice for many wizards seeking balance and harmony."

"To be honest, this wand was not made according to our tradition. It was born through my hands, but it seemed to be waiting for a wizard from the east." Ollivander did not expect that the wand would really choose Rogge.

"In any case, this is a wand with powerful potential, able to perform various complex magics with sensitivity, and an ideal combination of flexibility and strength. It is suitable for wizards who are flexible and have the ability to adapt and innovate." Olivan De concluded.

Professor McGonagall wholeheartedly agreed with his explanation, but the unicorn heartstring still made her very worried. Rogge happily grasped this meaningful wand, and the magic flowed in without any obstruction, creating beautiful fireworks at the tip of the wand.

"Thank you very much, Mr. Ollivander!" Rogge said excitedly, "I will use this wand properly and exert its power."

"That's right, kid," Mr. Ollivander said with a smile.

Rogge took out his small leather bag and placed a bag full of gold galleons on the counter.

"Thank you for your hard work, Mr. Ollivander. I believe this wand is very precious."

"Ah, no need, my child." Mr. Ollivander waved his hand in a friendly manner and only took away 7 gold coins.

"That's enough, I'm sure this wand will be a good companion for you."

"You can take it back to try it out, and come back to me if you have any questions." Mr. Ollivander smiled and asked Roger to take the bag back.

Roger nodded and carefully pocketed the new wand. Under the leadership of Professor McGonagall, he walked out of Ollivander's shop happily. From today on, he finally has a wand!

"Mr. Rogge, congratulations on getting your own wand." Professor McGonagall was sincerely happy for Rogge. She pushed up her glasses and began to teach Rogge his first lesson as a wizard.

"According to the regulations of the Ministry of Magic, children who know that they are wizards after the age of 11 but have not yet entered school are completely prohibited from using magic outside of school. Their wands will be confiscated and kept until they are returned to school."

"Ah... Professor McGonagall, please allow me to keep it to myself. I swear I will never use magic outside of school." Rogge looked at Professor McGonagall disappointedly. He never remembered that the little wizard had to have his wand confiscated.

Rogge knew that the Ministry of Magic would impose traces on students after entering school to monitor their magic use, but he did not expect that there would be such strict rules for young wizards who have not yet entered school. In the movie, Hermione used a wand to repair Harry's glasses. Hermione wasn't in school at that time.
