A Race to Melt Hearts

I fell to the ground beside him, I immediately pulled myself up and help him. My left arm is aching so badly and I'm trying my best to conserve energy.

He regained balance.

"We need to run to that clearing as fast as possible! Come on!" I am pulling him with all my might as we run through the darkest part of this garden. There are sharp thorns scattered from the plants which is impossible to avoid thoroughly.

"Shit!" There are scratches from his upper leg down to his exposed ankle, our clothes were slightly torn apart.

"We're almost there!"

I don't need to look back to know that the enemies sent to kill us already started shooting where we run.

"Platoon 10! Cover the Young Madame at all costs!" my men met us halfway and they started firing back.

We run to the nearest car parked in the area, but before I could get in, stray bullets hit my left shoulder and my lower back. Blood starts spilling from the wound on my injured arm.

I got in!

With keys at hand, I ignited the car and put back the earpiece.

"Mr. Lan, clean the area. I don't want the public knowing that an accident occurred here tonight."

"As you wish Madame"

I held the steering wheel controls and the car's reverse gear. Let's hit the road.

As fast as I can, I drove to my place. I need to get treated! I dialed my secretary's phone.

"Young Madame, is there a problem?"

"Mrs. Tan, prepare the operation room and call Mr. Lin with you. I'll be there by 5"

"Are you in a critical condition Madame?"

"Yes"

With one final word, blood spills from my mouth. I see, now I'm losing too much blood. Almost there!

"Ms. Ming! Are you going to kill us-- wtf! You've been shot all this time and you've never told me!" He was furious, I can see it from my peripheral vision.

But I cannot answer him, otherwise I might not get home.

He moved forward and touch my back, sensing blood.
