Without saying anything, Ais took Ethan's hand with her own, bringing it directly on her head. Surprised, he didn't react to her action before he started to stroke her hair. Seeing her close her eyes again, he felt lost in her beauty..

Seeing the two being so intimate even in her presence, Lefiya remembered Ethan's relationship with Ais. Looking down for some seconds, she decided to let the matter lay for now. With a blush, Lefiya squeezed his wrist by the sleeve to get his attention.

"Loki said if you were able to come back we should return..."

Hearing this, he continued to stroke Ais' hair while he thought about it for a moment. With the pain still widespread in his body, he knew he couldn't afford to walk all the way to home. Sighing, he decided to reply

"I can't. My injury is quite serious and I need at least..."

Remembering he still had to start heal himself, he immediately asked Light

["... Can I start healing my damage?"]

Analysing his whole body in seconds, she made a report appear in his eyesight.

Seeing something new, he was surprised while Lefiya was intensely watching him as if to find out what he was thinking about.

Thinking about Light's words and a way to use this new function, he understood he'll not use it that much..

'It can help me to do calculations or determine, in this case, how much 'HP' I have'

Understanding it will be pretty useful to check this aspect of him, he felt happy before Lefiya called him again. Snapping out of his thoughts, he shook his head

'I really should stop think about these things when I have someone in front of me'

Smiling, he said

"Sorry, Lefiya, I was thinking about something important..can you repeat?"

With a sigh, she replied

"As I was saying, Loki-sama said she would have liked to talk to you but, in case you wouldn't have been able to return, she will come in the morning"

"Ais.. I know you prefer to stay here, but Loki-sama said she wanted to be updated on the situation.. I would go alone but..."

Knowing well the distance from the Ganesha Familia's home to the Twilight Manor, Ethan was ready to intervene before Ais clung to his arm.

"I..won't return tonight.."

Having her head on his shoulder, he moved his so that their heads could have been closer. Closing his eyes, Ethan replied

"It's late now..isn't it better to sleep here?"

Believing she hadn't heard well, Lefiya was confused. With a blush, she wanted to confirm if she heard it right.

"Are you s-saying we should...s-sleep..together?"

Looking at her while shaking his head, she was even more confused before Ethan clarified.

"You and Ais will sleep on the bed.. While I'll sleep on the ground, how does it sound?"

"I'll sleep with you.."

Even tough he would have preferred to have Ais sleep with Lefiya, the fact they were so close made him instantly nod without adding anything more. Seeing these two completely lost in their world, Lefiya turned around, ready to escape this situation while the two weren't paying attention.

"Where are you going?"

Having been discovered, Lefiya stopped while returning to see the two in the same position as before. Deciding to face him, she answered with her blush still clearly showed on her face

"I.. I can't sleep in the same room with a b-boy..."

Sighing internally, Ethan held Ais' hand

"I won't do anything, besides I'm not in condition to even do something at the moment... Just I don't want you to return home. It's dangerous at night..."

Knowing he had a point, she decided to stop refusing.

"I-I'll take the blanket for you two..."

Laying it on the floor, she felt it was cold. Looking at him, she remembered the warmth he could produce with his hands. Immediately returning her eyes on what she was doing, she finished fixing everything while Ethan lightly tap on Ais' arm to make her understand they needed to move.

Opening her eyes, she thanked Lefiya for the help as Ethan did the same. Waving her hand as if to say 'it's fine', she entered the bed where Ethan was all the time before. Taking long breaths, she could smell his scent all over the blanket and the pillow.

Loosing herself in the warmth she felt in her c.h.e.s.t, she didn't even heard Ethan saying 'goodnight'. Thinking she was shy as always, he didn't add anything while he felt the coldness of the floor. Deciding to use his [Boost Magic] again, the surrounding temperature raised a few degrees, something that Ais felt as well.

Sticking even more onto him, she brought her head on his c.h.e.s.t to feel the warmth at a closer distance. Without actually saying anything, he held her in an embrace while she replied with one even more intense than his. Kissing the top of her head, he was determined to become stronger.

'My initial plan was way too stupid. Developing my powers and then girls would magically come to me? That's not how this world works. Now that I don't have a real goal, the only thing I can do is enjoy life and reality around me.. I don't really need to rush things..'

Thinking this, he fell asleep while his [Boost Magic] began to cure him while remaining the surrounding temperature warmer..

Feeling someone who called him, Ethan woke up. Feeling his body extremely light, he tried to move his body. Trying not to wake Ais, he moved slowly while trying to remove the arm that held her close.

"How long are you going to keep me waiting?"

Hearing Loki's voice, he looked at the door still closed.

'I see, she came to bring us back to the Manor'

Understanding he had to wake her up anyway, he returned his focus on Ais, just to see that she was already up. Kissing him on the lips, she said 'good morning' before going to open the door.

Quickly recovering from his stupor, he stood up while he understood that the damage was healed.

'[Boost Magic] did its job..but I want to be sure'

Calling Light to ask her for a report, she analysed his body again.

Seeing he was now in perfect health, he felt as if a weight was lifted from his shoulders.

"Ethan, did your injury heal?"

Hearing Loki's question, he decided to think about these things later.

"Yes, I'm fine now.. I can also join the expedition without problems"

Flinching slightly, she looked at him with a sad smile before she saw Lefiya asleep in Ethan's bed. With a mischievous smile, she licked her lips while replying

"We'll talk about it when we're at home, for now I'll wake Lefiya up.."

Clearly understanding her intentions, Ais went towards Lefiya without saying anything...

Acting as if she was still angry, Loki looked away while crossing her arms on her c.h.e.s.t. Without minding her, the group had finally arrived at its destination.

"Now that we are here, come with me, we have to talk"

Nodding, the group headed towards the room where they discussed a few times already. Entering, Ethan saw all the members of the Loki Familia waiting for them. Seeing it was Ethan, the first to act was Tiona that, with a bright smile, approached him fast enough to not be detected by him.

"You were so cool during the fight, Ethan! I never saw someone at level 2 knock out so many level 3 adventurers!!"

Making a 'tch', Bete still had a grudge on him

'He's better than a group of weaklings, so what?'

Looking away, he decided to wait until the situation wasn't focused on Ethan. With a sarcastic laugh, Finn waited for that as well. Even though he respected him for his powers, the fact he was always the topic of the conversation hit his pride a bit.

Without minding this, Riveria went near him to check on him. Seeing the injury gone, she understood she made the right choice.

'Should I be surprised at this point...? But he's fine now, so I'll make him see hell very soon..'

Blinking, she looked at Lefiya that had the same blush as always.

"Now that we are all here, I guess we can talk"

Hearing this, everyone took their position on the table while Ethan remained standing. After some seconds like this, Loki decided to tell him.

"Take your seat, Ethan"

Surprised, he looked at the chair where he had to sit. Too tempted to ask, he sat on the chair while saying

"Am I a core member now?"

Nodding, she replied

"That's one of the news, you are officially a core member now. Even though at first I couldn't easily do so, now you have that privilege. I'm proud of you"

Feeling touched by her words, he smiled while looking at all the members one by one with his smile still there..until he put his eyes on Bete. Sighing, he forced his smile to return while he understood Ethan's reaction. Punching the table, he said

"Do you want to die?"

Without a reply from Ethan, Loki decided to intervene.

"Now that he's a core member, I don't want the two of you fight again in public. Do what you want when you are alone, but do nothing that can ruin our reputation"

With a 'tch', Bete looked away while she continued her speech

"I don't want to hear something on this matter again, moving on to something else, Ethan, Finn will explain you later what it means to be a core member. I know you may think it's useless but listening to him for a bit costs you nothing..."

Staring at Finn, he nodded while Loki had still other things to say

"About the expedition, the core members that will participate are Finn, Riveria, Bete, Tiona, Tione and Ais"

Hearing her, Ethan felt something odd

'Why I'm not in the list..'

With his name missing, he was about to ask but, before he could, she was faster.

"You won't join the expedition. For now, you need to rest properly as Riveria suggested. Just yesterday you had a huge injury so I can't ignore it and make you join.."

Although he was ready to justify himself by saying that he was perfectly well, Riveria added

"Taking a rest is fine, you'll have other occasions to join the expeditions"

Understanding this as well, Ethan knew they were right but he still wished to go.

"Please, I'm perfectly fine..."

Seeing that wasn't enough to convince them, he understood that he had to compromise somewhat..

"I won't fight monsters on my own...I'll always stay near Riveria or Ais if necessary.."

Thinking about it for a moment, Loki looked at Riveria.

"What do you think, Riveria?"

Being called into question, she answered

"I think it's a good Idea, he would help a lot in the expedition with his overall powers.."

Saying this, his smile that faded moments before was slowly returning on his face..
