A Slave who became Emperor

She didn't reveal anything on her face, she said, ' I am traveling towards Hindustan too.., my name is Shameen , I belong to Iran, ..' he smiled at her..he had sharp aristocratic features with well built body..he was dressed in simple clothing..but had a noble bearing..

He said, ' Lady Shameen, I think it would be better if we travel together..our destination is the same..we can part ways as we near the Sindhu river..if you are alright with this.. I can be of help to you and I promise to protect you!' she looked at him and thought to herself, ' protect me? who will protect him from me?' but she smiled and said, ' that would be wise!'

He felt relieved, he didn't know why but he had a strong protective feeling towards Shameen and felt that he must guard her..

They started their journey together towards Hindustan.. Shameen felt atleast physically he can protect her and she could concentrate on strengthening her soul..

Every time they stopped he tried to get to know her, but she remained elusive and didn't reveal much..he kept thinking to himself that in his lonely journey, he got a beautiful partner..how good it would be if she could become his life partner..

He told her many things about himself, he talked about the great Mesopotamian civilization and how his ancestors were responsible for the prosperity and greatness of the region..she understood that he was well read and intelligent.. maybe if she would have met him earlier, in a different time and a different world..things would have been sweet and memorable!
