Accidentally Fated

Chapter 8 - 7

"Brother??!!"

George is trying his best not to lose his composure despite his son's outrageous claims. Matthew just found that boy in the trash, how can he claim him as his brother. His son has never given them any problems before and has always been an obedient and respectful son. He shudders as he remembered how Matt doubted him earlier and shielded the boy from him. His son has never treated him like that. He knows this is not just some rebellious phase from the teen.

George heave a sigh to calm himself, there's no use shouting at his son. He should try to make him understand the situation more clearly. As he was about to lecture Matthew, he accidentally caught a glimpse of his wife's reaction. To his astonishment, Helena is not even perplexed at the things Matthew is spouting. She's even eager to make him agree to what their son wants. Does Helena really want another child?

"Matthew you cannot simply claim someone as your brother. That boy has a family of his own. Do you know how crazy this whole idea sounds like?" George said to his son, still trying to hold his ground. He avoided his wife's eyes, knowing he would give in if he sees her pleading eyes. As much as he wants to give them what they want, he's still reluctant as he still believes that the boy's family is probably frantically looking for him. He knows because he'll do the same if Matt was in the same situation.

"Why not? You and mom are planning to adopt a child that's why we came here right? It's not a normal visit to mom's orphanage." Matt rebutted to his Dad. He heard his parents talk about the possibility of adopting a child from the orphanage where his mom grew up.

Helena was surprised as she looked at her son. She didn't know Matt heard them when George suggested the idea of adopting a child. She was ecstatic at the idea of caring for another child and also giving one of the kids from the orphanage a chance to have a family but she was hesitant because of Matthew. She's not sure how their own son would think of them bringing an unknown child inside their home and expect him to accept the child as his sibling. She finally realized why Matt was so adamant to claim the boy as his brother.

"Matthew we did plan to adopt a child but from the orphanage not some kid you found in a dumpster!" George was exasperated as he cannot get through to his son and his wife is not even helping him at all. Matthew just stomped his feet and went inside to go to the boy and ignore their pleas to let Zach finish his treatment.

George just can't figure out what to do anymore. He's just a normal man, a chef who managed his own restaurant. Why were they involved in this kind of situation? What if that boy will cause them harm, his priorities have always been his wife and son. He was about to follow Matt when James motioned for him to follow him outside.

James told George his suspicion that the boy might be an Omega and was attacked by someone and luckily got escaped. This made George more adamant to find the boy's family but James just contradicted him and suspects the boy was abandoned or even sold by his own family, shocking Georger at the atrocity.

Lenny finally gained enough consciousness to check his surroundings. He just knew that he was safe beside that boy but he couldn't find him. Did that boy abandon him too? Where is he anyway? More importantly who am I?

He scoots away when he realizes the presence of an unknown man who's trying to tie him up (Dr. Zach is actually bandaging his injured arms). "It's alright boy. I'm not gonna hurt you. I'm just treating your wounds." Lenny just looked at the man in front of him suspiciously.

"I'm a Doctor. See my coat? This is me. I'm Dr. Zach." Zach explained, showing the young boy his name plate, glad that he put on his lab coat before treating the boy. He continued bandaging the wounds half expecting the boy to fight him. He heaved a sigh when the boy allowed him to continue and saw the relief in his eyes, then he realized he was not looking at him anymore. He turned around and found Helena's son behind him. He motioned the boy to come near them, to make the injured kid more comfortable.

As he finishes up, Zach decides to finally talk to the boy and take advantage of Matt's presence which he believes would make the boy talk. "Can you tell us why you were injured like this and why you were at the dumpster?" James briefly told him about the situation so he tried to get some answers from the boy. The boy just shakes his head in response. Zach can't decide if the boy doesn't know what happened to him or he's just afraid to tell him. "Do you want us to find your family? We should inform them of what happened to you. They must be worried about you." He saw how fear and confusion all showed in the boy's eyes and he clinged to the older boy for an answer.

"What's your name?" Matt asked caressing the fear stricken boy beside him. The boy just cried, horrified at the idea of not knowing who he is. Matt just hugged him. "Shhh, it's alright, I'm here you'll be okay"

Zach gave the boy some sedatives to calm him and make him sleep. Maybe once he had enough rest he'll remember something. The boy has no visible head injury but he doesn't have enough equipment in his clinic to confirm if there are no internal injuries causing him to not remember anything. Generally amnesia can be triggered by a head injury which the boy doesn't seem to have, if that's not the case it might be a self induced amnesia from extreme shock he experienced. The boy must have suffered too much. His mind is blocking all memories of his traumatic experience. This is all just speculation on his part, after all he's just a general practitioner and this is not his specialty. Helena might have to bring him to a bigger hospital and a specialist.

The family of three together with James spent the night at Dr. Zach's place while the boy recuperates. Zach did not open his clinic the following day, to keep anyone from knowing about the boy they were secretly treating inside.

James decided to head back to his restaurant to check on things and George went with him, still believing that the boy's family is looking for him. He'll walk around the vicinity of James' place to ask around if anyone is looking for a missing boy.

George decided to scout the main street a few blocks from James' to check if anything is amiss. The bustling street is business as usual and seems like there's no missing child posters or even police asking people about a child as well. He roamed for almost an hour when he decided to go back to James'. Just as he was near the place, he saw three suspicious men in suits who looked like a group of gangsters. He decided to just walk passed them and not involve himself with them.

"You think we can find that Omega boy?" the shorter of the three asked.

"He can't run that far, should be just somewhere around here. It's not as if anyone would bother to help an Omega bitch like him" The boy is injured, if indeed someone helped him and brought him to the hospital they would still be able to catch him. The Boss already instructed Ugly Joe to check the nearby hospitals. They have to find the boy or they'll suffer the boss' wrath, he seems obsessed with the Omega.

"Have you seen that boy? Man his skin so white, bet ya, that ass is so tight. Smells good too."

The man who seems to be the leader of the trio just laughs mockingly. "Shut your trap, you can never taste that boy until the boss has his fill. I'm sure that boy taste good, the boss wouldn't be this eager to find him." He laughed again and added that before he has his turn, it should be him first.

"Still I can't believe they actually give that boy to the boss. That family is rich but they let their kid be sold off to the brothel." The shorter guy uttered innocently earning him a smack in the head. "Omega is an Omega, they are filthy no matter if they are rich or not. Rich people are more prone to dispose of an Omega child." The leader lectured to the shorter guy.

George clenched his hands trying not release anymore pheromones that might alert the gangsters. Though it seems they are just betas as he sure he released some angry pheromones when he heard their discussion. It seems Helena and James' fears are true. The boy was abandoned and is in grave danger if they turn him over to the police. He couldn't imagine what would happen if he insisted on bringing the boy to the hospital last night.

He went to his car and decided to head back to Zach's instead of his original plan to go back to James' first. They need to move fast. They must take the boy as far away here as much as possible. He cannot let those men take the boy, Matt will not forgive him if something will happen to that boy.

"Noooooooooo!!"

Zach, Helena and Matt rushed inside the treatment room when they heard the piercing scream coming from the boy. They found him hugging his legs at the corner of the room, his eyes full of fear, scared as if there's a monster out there to get them. Luckily Matt was able to convince the boy to move, he clinged to Matt and cried and cried for someone to help him. It broke Helena's heart to pieces.

It took almost an hour for the boy to stop crying, he was hiccuping as he hugged Matt but calm now nonetheless. Helena was even able to come near him, he must have sensed Helena's warmth that he allowed her to hug him too.

The trio was having a moment when George came back rushing. "We need to go." He was gasping for air as he ran from his car.

"I'm not leaving him here." Matt immediately protested. He still doesn't know the change in his father's disposition.

Helena seconded Matt's statement and urged her husband to stay a bit longer.

"We're not leaving him. We're taking him with us." He will not leave the boy, after what he heard moments ago, he cannot leave the boy. He asked Zach if they could take the boy with them, when the doctor did not object. George asked Helena and Matt to ready themselves and they would be going home immediately.

James came just before they left. Helena thanked both him and Zach for their help, while George asked both of them to keep what happened a secret which both men agreed not to speak about the incident to anyone.

"Dad, he doesn't have a name." Matt told his father as they left the town.

George looks at Helena who's sitting in the passenger seat. "What should we call our son?" Helena cried at what her husband said. She doesn't know what happened when George went out this morning to have him change his mind, but she's happy they could help the boy. She doesn't know why but she can't help but want to keep the boy safe.

"How about Alex?" George suggested. "I'm sure your grandpa would be happy to have his grandson named after him.

"Are you okay with that Alex?" Matt asked his brother who finally showed his first smile.
