Chapter 26 – Little Apple

If the scent of the Bloodlife Jade ever slipped out, won’t it become a thorn in the side of their party? She definitely didn’t want to implicate the rest…

Isn’t it just finding a person?

If she were to trust what Venerable Flame had told her earlier, then this person will be immensely helpful to her.

He also said that there might be an unimaginable big surprise later…

Sadly, Venerable Flame actually said that this person hung out around the pleasure quarters.

However, Gu Qingyu was quite delighted to hear that, because she could at the very least have a look around the place~.

Unfortunately, this place didn’t leave a good impression on her.

And for some unknown reason, when she saw that girl clinging on Mo Bai, an obscure fury suddenly started to form in her heart.

Gu Qingyu explained to Mo Bai, “I won’t keep this from you anymore, Mo Bai. The Bloodlife Jade had told me that there is a certain person around here that could be of great help to me.”

“Oh?” Mo Bai appeared rather curious, “Then, let us go and look for them.”

Shortly, they arrived in front of a door as they followed the Bloodlife Jade’s senses. Not a single person could be seen on the way.

All of a sudden, a figure popped out of nowhere, “You cannot enter this room.”

“Why not?” Gu Qingyu frowned, “And you are?”

The man was dressed in black. He had a grim look on his face, “Not important.”

“Don’t be this way, bro~” Gu Qingyu knew that this person was not to be trifled with and changed to a state of flattering manner, “Look at us, there’s no harm in letting us in, right? It’s not like the person inside-… do you even know them?”

“Our master.” The black robed man had a face void of expressions.

Gu Qingyu’s eyes widened, “Master?!” I’m starting to get the feeling that the person inside is not an average joe!

As Mo Bai stood behind Gu Qingyu, he cast a cold glance at the black robed man.

Because that Gu Qingyu stood in front of Mo Bai, the black robed man never noticed the cold look from Mo Bai.

At this very moment, Mo Bai’s originally jet-black pupils slowly turned white, flickering a callous, malevolent, fearsome radiance.

The black robed man opened his eyes wide before falling, hitting the ground with a thud.

Gu Qingyu stared at the black robed man, puzzled. She turned around, “Mo Bai, do you know what just happened to him?”

In an instant, Mo Bai’s eyes had already turned back to its original luster, warm and gentle.

He shook his head, “I’m not too sure, Yu’er. But isn’t this great? We can go in now.”

“Mm, yeah. That’s true…” Gu Qingyu lightly tapped on the door, “Anybody inside?”

Mo Bai looked at Gu Qingyu, he knitted his brows, but didn’t say anything.

Just when no one paid attention, a black light circulated around his hand, resembling a sharp dagger.

Suddenly, a burst of beautiful melody sounded from inside.

The voice of a man followed after, “If one of you can guess which song this is, then please come inside.”

Gu Qingyu decided to give it a try and put down her hands.

Well… I can just enter if I can’t guess the song. But… I can’t think of a single song from this era!

“Mo Bai, do you kno-…” She suddenly stopped mid-sentence.

Hold up! This beat, this melody…

Gu Qingyu shouted out loud, “Little! Apple!”1

“Puuu——” The music immediately stopped, and a loud hearty laughter could be heard from inside, “Hahaha!”

A figure sprang out and embraced Gu Qingyu tightly, “My comrade! I finally found you!”

Meow? 2

What—kind—of—situation—is—this?

“Buddy, who are you even?” Gu Qingyu stared baffled at the person clinging onto her body.

Mo Bai knitted his brows and suddenly waved his hand in the air.

“Waaaaah!” That guy was shockingly sent away flying.

Gu Qingyu looked at the person lying on the floor in disbelief, “Dear, what you doin’?”

Mo Bai walked over, extended his hand, indifferently.

The man gripped Mo Bai’s hand tightly and got up, “Thanks!”

“…” Mo Bai continued to pull back his hand, indifferently.

“Aaaaaaaaah—” That man immediately cried out like a dying pig. His hand swelled up and started to look like pig trotter.

Gu Qingyu held back her laughter, “Mo Bai, what are you doing to him?”

Mo Bai just smiled mysteriously, not commenting.

So, not only was he an expert in the arts of healing, but as well in poison arts…

Gu Qingyu looked at the man with pity, “Alright, Mo Bai. Let him be already~.”

She walked over to the man, “How do you know this song?”

“My bro!” The man was very aggrieved, “I am only here in order to help you accomplishing your wishes!”

“Wishes?” Gu Qingyu blinked, “Whut wishes?”

“For Cinderella to meet her Prince Charming and embarking on a journey with him towards the pinnacle of life!!” The man eccentrically struck a cheesy pose.

Gu Qingyu’s mouth trembled, “So… did you also transmigrate here?”

“Of course*!” That person snapped his fingers, “Someone told me that as long as I follow you, there’ll be meat to eat! … okay… that there’s a chance of returning back. So, that’s why,” He cupped his fists, “Big Bro, please accept me!”

“Something’s strange about this!” Gu Qingyu rolled her eyes, “Okay, handsome. So, what’s your name?”

“Hi, my name is Qi Wan.” He extended his hand.

“70 thousand 3?” Gu Qingyu gripped his hand, “Did you go crazy about money? Ahaha…”

Mo Bai slightly knitted his brows, and looked towards Gu Qingyu.

Gu Qingyu felt the look from Mo Bai, and turned around, “Mo Bai, what’s wrong?”

Mo Bai lightly pulled at Gu Qingyu, “Yu’er, who’s he?”

His originally warm, gentle tone in his voice was swept away, replaced with a hint of jealousy.

“He… is my friend!” Mo Bai seemed to be acting a little unusual, “What’s up with you, Mo Bai? You’re acting a bit different today, ah…”

“Yu’er?” Qi Wan opened his mouth excessively, gaping at her in surprise, “Bro,  what… was your name again?

Gi Qingyu glanced around, then looked at Qi Wan.

Qi Wan instantly knew what was on her mind, and dragged Gu Qingyu into the room.

“What should we do with him…” Gu Qingyu looked at the cute black robed guy on the floor.4

Qi Wan shook his head, “He won’t die.”

“Also… Mo Bai, can you go and watch the door?” Gu Qingyu looked at Mo Bai cautiously.

Mo Bai looked reluctant, but still nodded his head, saddened.

I never imagined that… even Mo Bai would have such a childish side to him… Ah, the gentle and kind, Greek god Mo Bai had turned into an aggrieved baby in an instant!!5

Closing the door, Gu Qingyu immediately opened the subject at once, “Hi there, I’m Gu Qingyu, Gu Manor’s Third Miss, although I’ve left my home already.”

“Gu Manor’s Third Miss?” Qi Wan repeated, sizing up Gu Qingyu. “How unexpected, ah. A peerless beauty as well.”

Gu Qingyu smiled on the inside, but said nothing, “But in order to fool people, I’ve temporarily changed my name to Zhu Fan.”

“Mhm, Brother Zhu~,” Qi Wan covered his mouth as he chuckled.

He wore an olive green robe, covered in mysterious flower patterns. He appeared very handsome and confident.

Gu Qingyu rolled her eyes at him, “”So, are you going to follow me in the future?”

“Of course,” Qi Wan appeared very sincere, “Just accept me and I’ll just muddle along with you from now on!”

Gu Qingyu nodded, “Okay, very good.”

The more the merrier, as the saying goes.

“But…” Without waiting for Qi Wan to finish cheering, Gu Qingyu switched the topic, “Are you the owner of this place?”

Qi Wan looked cutely, appearing innocent, “Yes, why~?”

“I don’t like it here,” Gu Qingyu hit the nail on the head, “The women here have no sense of shame…”

Qi Wan wanted to cry, but no tears came out, “”I say, Big Sis. Do you know what kind of place this is? A pleasure quarter! I…”

“Bye.” Gu Qingyu got up without a second thought, looking as if she was going to leave.

Qi Wan saw this and swiftly clung onto Gu Qingyu’s legs, “Hey don’t don’t don’t… don’t ah, I’ll go ahead and work on it if anything!!”

“That’s more like it,” Gu Qingyu raised her eyebrows, “I’m leaving first. Tomorrow morning, wait for me at the entrance of the inn at the corner of the street!”

“Yes yes, I will await for your arrival, Brother Zhu!” Qi Wan immediately stood up and gave her an exaggerated bow.

Like a big boss, Gu Qingyu waved her hand to dismiss him., “See you~*.”6

“See you~*,” Qi Wan gave a slight smile.

Qi Wan was still quite the handsome fellow, there was no doubt about that.

Gu Qingyu left the pleasure quarters, dragging Mo Bai along with her. Along the way, she found Mo Bai to be rather taciturn.

“You aight, Mo Bai?” Gu Qingyu looked at Mo Bai with a strange look.

Mo Bai shook his head, once again becoming his gentle self, “It’s nothing.”

“Nothing? Not even a ghost would believe you!” Gu Qingyu curled her lips, unhappily, “You don’t want to tell me? Fine then, I’m leaving…”

“Hey…” But his words came too late, Mo Bai immediately stretched out a hand to stop Gu Qingyu from taking off, “Yu‘er, I…”

Gu Qingyu stood firm in her spot, looking at Mo Bai with an “I’m listening” attitude.

Mo Bai hesitated. He had a thoughtful look on his face, “Umm…”

“Okay, okay~,” Gu Qingyu suddenly burst out in laughter, “I’m just teasing you! It’s just that I didn’t expect to see this side of you today…” Gu Qingyu blinked blankly looking at Mobai, she seemed to have gone off into her own little world.

Mo Bai began blushing, “Yu Er…”

“Yawn…” Gu Qingyu yawned, “It’s getting late, let’s go back home first~ go la la~”

“… ok.”

They quickly arrived at the inn.

Gu Qingyu glanced at the sky, “Hm… There’s a possibility of rain tomorrow… then, I’ll retire to my room early yawn, see you tomorrow, Mo Bai! Nighty!”

“Good night.” A warm, gentle, and relaxing smile revealed itself on Mo Bai’s angelic face.

That smile was enough for Gu Qingyu to have a good night’s sleep.

Gu Qingyu opened the door and entered her room.

The door strangely closed by itself as she stepped in.

The room was pitch black, she couldn’t even see her own fingers.

She immediately felt that something was off. She turned around to push the door open, but it wouldn’t budge!!

The windows were open, and the wind swept in inside the room, fluttering the white curtains…

“Ha-haha,” Gu Qingyu laughed dryly, “It’s just the wind, yep. Just the wind…”

She walked over, and shut the window.

When she turned around, she almost fainted with fright—on her bed, there was clearly a part that bulged up. Somebody was definitely lying in there!

“W-who is it?!” Gu Qingyu’s voice trembled.

She’d never been a superstitious person back in the modern world. However, magic was a thing in this world! There were all kinds of creepy monsters here!

What if… That thing on the bed was waiting for her to walk over, and when she was close enough, an evil creature would suddenly pounce and eat her…

Ah! It’s getting more and more scary!!

If she remembered correctly, Murong Zuoyu should be in the next room over!!

He was a martial artist. If she called for help, he might hear her!!

Gu Qingyu immediately ran to the wall and started banging on it, “Murong Zuoyu! Murong Zuoyu, save me! Or else I’m gonna die tonight! Umpf!…” Gu Qingyu’s mouth was covered by a hand.

I’m dead! Will I even be able to see the stars in the morning?! [Dreamie: Stars?]

She felt herself being pressed against the wall by someone, the man was dressed in a red robe.

Thank god! At least, it’s not a monster!!

However, as a result of the fluttering window curtains, Gu Qingyu was unable to get a clear glimpse of the person’s face.

Although she had excellent night vision, there was still a certain energy restricting her from seeing…
