Chapter 35 Unexpected

Outside the scene, Ning Youguang took a deep breath and released her grip on the green crocodile skin bag. She slowly opened her eyes. Her gaze was filled with reluctance. A tear formed at the corner of her eye and remained there like a glittering drop.

The little girl’s sudden change in temperament stunned the lethargic staff and Ning Yi, who was feeling nervous behind the camera.

He stared into the camera at the little girl who was exuding reluctance from every part of her body with just one look. He was stunned.

She was able to get into character in the blink of an eye.

This was something neither Ning Yi nor Mr. Cat had expected, let alone the others who had been stunned by the scene they just witnessed.

Only one person had a different reaction to Ning Youguang’s performance, and that was Yan Jidao.

In his joy, he immediately entered Zhou Yi’s world.

Zhou Yi and Xue Fei’s first scene was a major turning point in their lives.

Zhou Yi wanted to leave the base to find clues. He knew very well that he might not return once he left. The path to finding clues was filled with difficulties and dangers. He did not want to bring his daughter, but he knew that he could not hide it from her. Hence, he simply entrusted his daughter to a friend and said that he had to go out to run some errands. His return date was uncertain.

However, even if he did not explain it to his daughter, Xue Fei knew why he had left the base so decisively.

She didn’t really want him to go.

Just as no daughter would let her father go if she knew he was going to his death…

But she was too smart for that. If she could see why her father was leaving, she naturally understood why he was acting so recklessly.

Xue Fei could live without her father, but Zhou Yi had to do what he was about to do. Otherwise, humanity would face its greatest calamity.

Xue Fei stared after her father in silence. As the first tear rolled down her cheeks, she made a decision.

The girl in the white dress, under the light of the sunset in the mountains, exuded a reluctant aura. She took a step forward and shouted at the young man with all her might, “Daddy, I’ll go with you.”

Everyone present clearly saw the look of panic, vulnerability, and helplessness that little You You had displayed. The reluctance to part with “Daddy” and the fear that “Daddy” might die gradually faded…

With just a single thought, the little girl instantly felt a power growing from the bottom of her heart.

Such an intense emotional change was portrayed by her in a very layered manner. Her emotions were also depicted very well.

The young man stopped in his tracks. He didn’t turn around, but everyone saw that he seemed to have gone limp.

The little girl raced towards him, like a bird spreading its wings along the hillside and into the twilight.

She stopped behind the young man and stood firm. The tears were still on her face, but a brilliant light burst from her eyes, brighter than the distant sunset.

She smiled, her white teeth gleaming. “Take me there, Daddy.”

The young man couldn’t help but look down. But his back remained straight.

A tear was blown away by the evening breeze from the mountains and dropped into the sand on the hill. A wet spot immediately appeared on the ground.

He took a deep breath and turned slowly to smile at his daughter with deep troubled eyes. “You know what Daddy is going to do.”

“I do.”

“Aren’t you going to stop me?”

“I can’t do that.”

“So you decided to come with me.”

“I can help you.”

“Okay.”

The young man held out his hand to his daughter.

The red sun slowly disappeared into the horizon. Under the warm light, a pair of big and small hands clasped each other.

Many of the onlookers could not help but be drawn into the act. Some of them started trembling, and some of them even had tears streaming down their faces… They had not expected a little girl who had never acted before to be so good at acting out her first scene.

It was shockingly unexpected. “Cut!”

This shout was from Ning Yi.

The staff member beside him was already staring in awe at the camera, with a scene board in his hand. When he heard the director’s voice, he was pulled back to reality and hurriedly went back to his work.

Little You You and the future Best Actor, Yan Qidao, did their first scene all in one take.

Ning Yi came back to his senses and repeatedly slowed down to check the footage. He had to admit that his daughter might really be a natural at acting.

This scene could be the most successful scene he had ever filmed since he started directing.

Even though the entire cast of Before Death was filled with newcomers and everyone was trying their best to interpret their roles well, everyone was still discerning when it came to differentiating between good and bad acting.

The differences between each and every actor was glaringly obvious in front of the camera.

However, after witnessing that scene with their own eyes, the entire production team had learnt something new.

It was so unexpected…

This became the thought of everyone present.

On this afternoon, after filming the scene with little You You and Yan Jidao,

The entire crew was in an uproar.

“Little You You is a very good actress.”

“This is a child that is born to be an actress!!!”

“I announce that I’ve become a fan of You You. She’s my biological daughter now!!!”

Little You You had instantly gained a group of die-hard fans with her acting skills.

Yan Jidao and Ning Yi were watching the replay on camera. The high-powered and clear single-lens camera could record the details and shortcomings of the character, but Xue Fei in the video was captured even more vividly because of the focus. Every frame of her could be taken as a screenshot.

The more Yan Jidao watched, the more excited he became. After hugging Ning Yi tightly, he turned around and ran to little You You who was being praised by the crowd. “Your performance today was even better than before. Your expression and the look in your eyes were on point. In a while, we’ll ask the director if we need a close-up!”

Mr. Cat beside him said in agreement, “That’s what the director suggested just now.”

After being praised, Youguang didn’t look smug at all. She only replied softly, “I feel better about my acting today.”

For the rest of the filming, as long as it was Ning Youguang’s scene, it would be done extremely quickly. She was one of the few people in the entire production team who could act across Zhou Yi and finish in record time.

She was quick to get into character herself and could sometimes lead the actors into the scene.

It was just very unscientific!!!
