Agartha - Quest for the Legacy
60 Figuring out their plan
It seemed that her mother didn't notice her plight. Her father, on the other hand, was chanting something. She knew why her father asked her to wait. He wanted to buy some more time to know the thoughts of the enemy.
She was trying to bear the chill, which seemed to be chilling her heart and related arteries. It was just too hard for her to bear the chill. Her whole body was getting covered with frost. As soon as she saw that, she wanted to turn into her original form, but she couldn't. She gritted her teeth, trying to bear the chill. She turned towards her parents. Two drops of pearly tears fell from her eyes.
Before it could fall from her eyes, it turned into frost. She touched her cheeks which were colder than her hands. The frost was getting to her. Slowly her limbs started turning blue. It became numb. Slowly the numbness started reaching her heart. Her heart started beating erratically.
She closed her eyes and muttered, "Master, I don't think I will be able to escape this. Forgive me, Master. I know you can hear me. Remember to take Deablo to the Derman Mountains. Only he can help you in the future, I won't be able to help you anymore. Good bye, Master."
Tears welled up in her eyes, and she slowly turned her head sideways and focused on the people in front. As her eyes focused on the eyes of her mother, she could see the golden rims around her iris. She muttered to herself, "Is she being hypnotized?"
She looked at her dad, and saw him doing nothing other than chanting something under his breath. Everything seemed so off to her for some reason.
She tried to cast a few spells on her, but everything seemed useless. As she was reaching its limit, she saw her mother coming towards her with a dagger in her hand.
She looked totally abnormal. She refused to believe that it was her mother. Although she was terrified, she knew that her mother would die rather than killing her. As she thought of that, the belief increased more and more and thus, she found herself feeling less cold than she was feeling earlier. The frost started thawing around her. She wondered whether it was because of her faith in her mother.
Later she realized that she was wrong. It was her father who was acting abnormally now. She couldn't understand the head or tail of the situation. The icy coldness wasn't helping either.
As soon as she saw that, she realized that her mother was never the target. Their target was originally her father. They stalled for some time — placing her in the array and talking to her mother was just a perfect guise for them, and it was also to make him lower his guard. It was him who was in real danger.
She looked at the sky and muttered again, "Master, Deablo, I will miss you."
"Little girl, never lose hope. As long as you are determined to fight, you will never lose. The true power lies within you."
"It doesn't matter who I am. What matters most is, who you are. What is your identity?"
"I am Olympia."
"Good answer, little girl. I almost thought that you will say that you are a princess or a pet of your Master, but you didn't. I am impressed. You are you, and no one else. No worldly title matters if you are powerful and you will reach there one day. This is just the start. I hope that when you grow old, you remember me." The male voice told her without revealing himself.
Olympia nodded her head. She understood very well that she had to leave this place. His master was waiting for her and there was a time limit for getting out, else she would be stuck forever in this goddamn place. Brad, her master, was also waiting for her. His father, who is critically ill, was also waiting for her. There was no time to lose.
She quickly made up her mind and then asked, "Do I attack them first?"
"No. Although you don't have to wait longer, just look into your surroundings carefully. What do you see?" The male voice tried to guide her towards something, or someone in particular.
She heeded his advice and looked at a faraway distance. There, she saw her master. He was looking at the mountains with his brows creased in confusion.
Slowly and steadily, he climbed the mountains, and soon he reached near the mountain top, where they were standing. He casted a glance towards Olympia, but there was a distance in his glance. He didn't seem to recognize her. She was totally confused, but decided to put her curiosity in check for a while. There were many things to complete; the first thing being, saving her father. She was totally determined to save him.
"What should I do now?" She asked the voice in her mind. She didn't know who he was, and now was not the time to think. Since that person didn't have any malicious intent towards her, he could be considered a friend rather than an enemy.
"Have patience." He said just towards and didn't care to explain anymore.
But, there is not much time anymore. What is going to happen? I am too scared. I can't let him die."
"Why? Weren't you blaming them for abandoning you all these years?"
"No, I never blamed them." Olympia averted her eyes. Although she couldn't see him, she didn't want to meet his eyes. She knew that she blamed them all these years, and something told her that this was the thing that made them leave her. If this was what happened, she needed to know the complete truth. She needed to search for them.
"Heh!" The man mocked her, but a smile surfaced on his face seeing her face changing colors. He knew that she must have figured it out.
