All It Takes Is One Night

78 Chapter 78: Missing memories

.

She had memories of her parents and growing up in the village or at least somewhere rural. She didn't remember any childhood friends, and according to her parents and Alex she didn't do well in school but the thing is she didn't even remember attending school.

Secretly she would take some academic books from her parents shop and practice them in the night, and the topics seemed strange and unfamiliar at first but after going through it for ten minutes it felt just like revision rather than learning something for the first time.

"Hey, what are you thinking about" Alex asked pulling Katie out of her thoughts.

"Um nothing, it's just weird I can't remember a lot from my childhood" Katie said without a complicated look.

Looking at the strange look on Katie's face, Alex began to worry. She couldn't have figure something out right? No she couldn't have master cleared it all, right?

"It's probably nothing, I'm just forgetful. Anyway keep telling me stories maybe id finally remember one" Katie quickly said so as to not make Alex worry.

"Oh okay, remember…" as Alex continued to talk his voice seemed to fade out. Katie felt so confused and anxious, why couldn't she remember anything. It was so strange because two weeks ago, she woke up confused on a hospital bed and according to her parents she hit a head and was in a coma for two days and that shewould not be able to remember little things, but it felt like she couldn't remember her whole life.

She could remember her parents but that was all. Pushing all her worries behind her head, Katie leaned back into her seat leaning her on Alex's shoulder then drifting off to sleep.

While Katie and Alex were on their way to the city, James, Catherine, Nathan and Jeremy were waiting for Samuel at one of Ning's corporation's hotel. They were staying at a suite with five bedrooms which they were all individually getting dressed. In Catherine's room she was feeling especially nervous. They were all going to attend a gala in hope of meeting Samuel, turns out it's easier to meet the president than meet Samuel.

James had personally picked out an emerald dress for her; the dress had a very low back which stopped at her lower back. She was currently trying to use foundation to cover a scar, but it was really dark and hard to hide.

In the living room three incredibly dashing men standing currently looking towards Catherine's room.

"What's taking her so long? It's a one piece dress, we are wearing four piece tux yet we get ready before her." Nathan said impatiently.

"Will you calm down; she can take as much time as she needs. So calm down" James said throwing him a threatening look.

"Wow. I'm guessing you've finally made up with Catherine great. So how did you apologize?" Jeremy asked from the corner.

"I took her hunting, and she loved it. Although we didn't get any game." James naively stated.

"Wait what?" Jeremy couldn't help the shock in his voice, "you took a girl who owns an animal sanctuary in every country, a lady who has aquatic sanctuary on two massive islands, and you took that woman hunting"

"Well yeah, she loves shooting right? In fact it was my idea." Nathan said proudly.

"Wow, you are both stupid, incredibly stupid. Catherine loves animals, her mansion didn't have any walls so stray animals could wander around without disturbance."

While the two were in the heat of their argument, Catherine finally walked out. James walked up to her revealing a weak smile. He looked truly fatigued, but he was still trying to hold on and she felt bad for him.

"You look gorgeous are you ready?"

"Yes let's go." Catherine answered.

The four of them walked out of the room and to the ball room downstairs which was filled with different forms of socialites and business men and women.

"Ok, how about we split up and take numerous laps. Whoever finds Samuel should approach him and inform the rest of us." Catherine suggested which they all agreed to.

As soon as they split up and walked deeper into the ball room they were stopped at every point. Considering the fact that they were rich and influential people with exception of Jeremy who the socialites just wanted to date, everyone at the party wanted to get familiarized with James and Nathan but not Catherine because they saw her as a vase, just a pretty decoration that people were meant to be admired.
