Aloof CEO's; Charming Secretary

Chapter 423 - Sky is waiting

Sky almost choked on her saliva. "Everyone here knows who is smart so leave it. Good looking?" Sky giggled.

"And My grandson can't be brainless like you." All burst into laughter after listening to her.

"I don't mind lying once. Let's play." Sky said indirectly saying he wasn't handsome and she would lie once.

While playing Arlo gave her suggestions. Sky was second in the second round winning the bet.

Thomson was escaping but Arlo pulled him back to the table. "Time to pay for your deeds."

Sky crossed her arms and said, "Exclaim three times that you aren't handsome... Loudly... Clearly..." Then she turned to Arlo, "How about doing it near reception?"

All looked at her in horror. Thomson was panicked thinking he really has to do it outside.

Arlo chuckled, "No need. He will start crying."

Sky nodded as she just said for fun and looked at Thomson who dejectedly carried out the dare. "You two are gods of evilness."

Sky laughed and asked for the check from the manager.

Freddie asked in surprise, "Sky! are you going to pay?"

"Why not?" Sky said as she went over the chair where Arlo's jacket was present.

"Are you scamming her in your own hotel?" Jack asked Arlo.

"Let me pay."

"How can we let the girl pay for us."

All removed their cards out except Arlo. His seniors were a manager, a Professor, Directors, Small scale businessmen. So he was sure Sky would pay at the end even if others insist.

All extended their credit cards but one which stood top was Sky's black card between her two fair delicate fingers.

"Filthy rich woman." Thomson shoved back his card first.

The hotel Manager looked at Arlo who was enjoying the show. When he was thinking about which card to take, Sky saved him.

Sky spoke, "My treat on behalf of your junior's birthday."

All looked at Arlo. Sky paid the bill and passed Arlo's jacket to him.

"I didn't hear you guys wishing him. Don't you guys know?" Sky asked on the way out.

Jaxon replied. "He doesn't like to celebrate." Arlo opened the car door for Sky, The latter heard when she sat inside the car.

Seniors dragged Arlo little aside and spoke, "Arlo! you should let her know about your feelings. What will you do If she likes somebody else?"

"Are you sure she doesn't like somebody else?"

"Don't keep one-sided crush for a long time. Seven months is already too long."

"As long as you drag this, you will face problems. where the hell is your smartness?"

"Haven't you moved on from Jenny's incident so you are taking time?"

Arlo who was hearing silently narrowed his eyes at Thomson which made him take a step back.

Jaxon patted on Arlo's back, "We are worried that you make can't take a blow again. Even though you never told anything about Jenny, we all know how much you changed because of her and how much you loathed girls after she left. We don't know much about Sky so If you don't want to speak about it, it's okay. But be wise. Don't love too deeply until you are sure that the other person loves you with the same depth. Because the depth of your love today is the depth of your wound tomorrow."

Arlo gradually calmed down and retrieved his sharp gaze.

"I will propose to her! Very soon." Arlo didn't explain anything else.

Then he looked at Thomson who was trying to ask but scared to even make a sound. "Sky is the one who makes me happy and fills the void inside me. NOBODY ELSE ."

Seeing the tensed atmosphere, Freddie changed the topic, "Did Sky celebrate your birthday? Did she give you anything?"

Arlo's lips tilted up thinking about her book and moved towards his car, "We will leave. Sky is waiting."

It was eleven in the night hence Sky who was waiting in the car dozed off. He hopped on. He fastened her seat belt and drove off leaving five to sigh.

Morning at eight in Country U

There was only an hour left for Sky to reach college for exams but she wasn't out of the room. Arlo had prepared breakfast and sat on the sofa in the living room to wait for her.

Time was ticking up and soon it was quarter past eight.

Arlo went near the door and knocked but Sky didn't respond. Since the door wasn't locked, he pushed open and saw Sky huddled between pillows and duvet.

He wished he could see her all day who was sleeping peacefully like a baby.

'Sleeping beauty!'

'Sleeping beauty? A princess who is wakened from an enchanted sleep by the kiss of a prince!' He smiled at his own thought and went next to her bed.

Kneeling down to the bed height, he called her name as he rubbed her head, "Sky!"

"Sky!" for the second time Sky hummed and opened her eyes.

Seeing Arlo, she hurled a pillow on his face before closing eyes.

"Arlo! you shouldn't enter a girl's room without permission." Her groggy voice sounded after pillow hit him on the face leaving him at loss of words.

He didn't expect her to do it and he was too late by the time he realized.

"Oh! It's just 8:15. sleep tight." Arlo said and stood up.

Sky heard it and understood why he entered her room. She shot off from the bed to the bathroom before Arlo could straighten himself from kneeling.

He could easily postpone the exams by an hour but it would only make Sky feel fishy so he wanted to go by a fixed time.

Sky exited soon wearing a crimson-colored, full sleeve, turtle neck, short bodycon sweater dress. She saw her bed was already made which saved her time. She silently chuckled and wore her ankle-length black high heel boots and exited her room after untangling her hair.

"Arlo! Let's go." Sky said and looked around in the living room but he was nowhere to be found. She dialed his number and Arlo exited from the kitchen holding a paper bag. "Let's go"

Sky hung up the call and both left the apartment. Arlo passed the bag, "Eat. Drink milk while it's hot."

Sky took it and saw sandwiches in a box from the transparent lid and a cup.

Sky took a bite and asked, "Did you eat?"
