Aloof CEO's; Charming Secretary

685 Brain is angry, Heart still cares 2

Jai couldn't walk for a long time hence Sky and Loran stayed beside him.

They had lunch in the Harley mansion in silent mode which was very awkward.

Sky didn't feed Jai and let him eat whatever he could. She didn't reject whenever he fed or kept anything in her bowl.

Ryan kept poking Arlo to know about the situation but Arlo didn't say anything.

Olivia looked at David and didn't say anything.

George and Georgia were already happy seeing them safe and sound.

Sky helped Jai towards the elevator silently.

Arlo who was going towards stairs paused and flicked on her nose, "What's going on in your little head?"

She didn't want to tell and still told seeing his anticipating look, "When I had an accident, these two would carry me without batting an eyelid. If a man meets with an accident, they will have no option other than walking on their own."

The four men laughed at her remarks. Arlo and Ryan took stairs. Sky and Loran accompanied Jai. The latter started to get used to walking and speed increased by the time they reached Jai's room.

Sky sent Loran to rest in his room. After knowing Jai was comfortable, she was about to leave, Jai spoke, "Little sister"

Sky turned around to face him as he asked, "Are you angry?"

She promptly nodded.

"Little sister! You know well why I..." Seeing her gaze away from him, he didn't continue, "We will talk when you want. Go and rest."

Sky nodded and closed the door.

She went to her room which she hadn't entered for forty-five days.

How much ever the hospital VIP ward was equipped well, Nowhere can give warmth other than home and their room.

Sky was rolling on the bed when Arlo exited the dressing room. He easily scooped her up before taking her to the bathroom, "Bathtub is ready. Take a bath. You have meetings in an hour."

Sky obediently took bath and attended the three-hour-long meeting. Arlo did his office work in their study room.

After going through all the mails, Sky raised her head from her desk and peeked at Arlo who was busy in his file.

"Secretary Arlo!"

Arlo's lips tilted up slightly before he responded, "Yes! Ms.Sky. Do I have any instruction?"

"What do you think about the Sigma industries' proposal for security support in their national museum project?" Sky asked seriously.

Harley security got a mail for providing the smart high-level security for two floors where inexpensive, priceless antiques would be showcased.

Arlo finished his last file and strode towards her as he responded, "Currently Harley Security solution stands high..."

She also knew why Sigma chose Harley hence she didn't let him clarify it.

Arlo shook his head resignedly and spoke, "Sigma proposal is very attractive and the exposure of Harley security would reach new heights if we accept it. The national museum attracts every tourist which would also include other countries' business or administration personnel. It's worth considering."

Sky controlled her smile and nodded. She was very proud of her husband, for not asking her to do it and framed it as 'worth considering'.

"Our monthly limits are already full. Is Sigma's proposal worth our extra time and effort? As we all know, Sigma was and is always the decision-maker in any project collaboration with any company but we are not some random company to play by their rules. I may piss off Assistant Wilson or President Smith by not attending meetings and for keeping our constraints or asking to change their constraints."

Arlo bit her earlobe before leaving her. "If Sigma's President or his assistant gets pissed off or if they aren't ready to accept our conditions, we will move on. We don't have to jump all the time to reach higher. A step at a time is a great way to succeed."

Sky nodded, "I have a smart secretary. How about a small bonus?"

Sky regretted asking. She could feel wolf ears popping up. She tried to slide off calmly, "Let's go downstairs."

Arlo didn't tease her other than pecking on her forehead before taking her to Jai's room. Jai could walk around hence he came out and Loran joined them. Ryan was already downstairs. All had their dinner.

Olivia sat in her room balcony with David enjoying tea.

The rest walked around with Jai. They didn't really speak anything other than very light talk. They sat under the Star lighted tree to let Jai rest for sometime before going inside the mansion.

Sky tucked in both brothers before going to her room. Arlo thought Sky would sit and have a proper talk with Jai, seeing her entering inside, he closed his laptop and went to bed.

--

Sky woke up early to get back to her routine workout but she first ran towards Jai's room and opened the door. She didn't see him and went inside.

He wasn't present in his room and she panicked. She checked the Loran room and started asking every maid she saw in panic as she went down.

She stopped a maid who was on the stairs, "Did you see Brother Jai?"

"I didn't see young miss." she replied Sky respectfully and saw Sky running downstairs.

Sky stopped looking at Jai who was looking at her standing in the living hall in his tracksuit.

He clearly saw her fear of not seeing him. He went ahead and hugged her who was on the verge of tears thinking he wasn't at home.

"Little Sister, I will not leave without telling you." Jai stroked her back head as he said softly.

Sky bit on to her lip and hummed after a long time. Her raised heartbeats returned to normal before she released herself from his hug and looked at him.

Her hand involuntarily moved to his face and her finger traced his dark circles.

She instantly furrowed her brows, "Brother Jai, you didn't sleep the whole night. Did you?"

Jai didn't reply and Sky knew the answer. "What about the day before yesterday?"

Jai changed the topic seeing her worry, "Didn't you wake up early to work out? Go on."

"Are you feeling unwell? Does it pain anywhere? Shall I call the doctor? Why aren't you getting sleep? What were doing..."

Jai kept shaking his head lightly.
