Arc of Gunfire
Final response to compilation issues
In the first chapter of this volume, most of the content is actually about scolding those military illiterates who came to criticize the chapter I compiled. The military illiterates have no idea how many people are needed to operate so many technical equipment. They don’t know about this vibranium. How valuable is the rich master?
I was originally going to write a separate chapter to criticize it, but then I thought about it, maybe ordinary readers don't know how terrifying this vibranium rich division and the army of three local rich divisions are, so I wrote it in the main text.
Then, some people started to complain, saying that if I put 60 heavy artillery pieces, 200+ mortars and infantry guns into a division, many divisions on the front line would have no artillery. They also said that this army accounted for 30% of Ant's heavy artillery, and that they could not supply it.
Come and see what's going on in reality.
Below is a photo of a page from Glantz's book "Giant Reborn".
The picture is not clear, so let me paraphrase it for you: In July 1942, the reserve artillery force of the Soviet Army Headquarters had 323 artillery regiments and 26 heavy artillery battalions. Let's not talk about the heavy artillery battalion, which is mainly equipped with 203 and 280, but the 323 artillery regiments are all 122 or 152!
You read that right, 323!
Of course, these 323 regiments have actually been reduced compared to before the war. Before the war, one reserve artillery regiment had 48 guns and 152 guns. But by 1942, these 323 regiments were actually small establishments, with 20 guns of 122 or 152 guns. .
I’ve packed 60 doors and I’m already short of them, okay!
Some people may say that this is a reserve artillery regiment, and it does not need supplies. There are not many artillery regiments on the front line.
Don't be stupid. The Soviet division artillery originally had 12 122 guns. The military artillery was generally an artillery brigade, with 24 152 guns + 24 122 guns for a 48-gun unit.
I just strengthened a military-affiliated artillery brigade into a division, which is exactly 12+48=60 guns.
By the way, the artillery of Mao Zi's headquarters will be strengthened during the implementation of the campaign to the group armies below for specific execution. You really have no idea about the artillery of the Soviet army. They even said that one division accounts for 10% of the heavy artillery firepower of the entire army.
In the book, Ant's losses were smaller than Maozi's. In the first year of the establishment, Maozi killed 4 million people and captured more than 2 million prisoners alone. The book only lists 5 million casualties, and the wounded soldiers can return after recovering. These people return to the team as veterans who have been tempered by war, and their fighting will is different. In other words, Ant has at least two million more veterans than Maozi.
In addition, retreating units are different from retreating units, and their technical equipment can be preserved.
In order to test whether this kind of compilation can be used, I read two tomes by Glantz, one is "The Giant with Clay Feet" and the other is "The Rebirth of Giants". These two books are not as refreshing to read as war history. , because I like to read war history as a story book. These two books are purely informational books, and they read like manuals.
I still finished reading it.
The following are the war histories and memoirs related to the Eastern Front that I have not yet put into my treasury.
There are three rows below, and they are obviously older. I read them before writing this book. In the middle, "Clay-Footed Giants" and "Rebirth of Giants" were just read for this book. On the top, "The Gates of Hell", The Oder Front and the Road to Berlin are ready to see.
I also have the same number of books on the history of the Pacific War and the same number of books on the history of the First World War, and they have all been read.
By the way, I also followed Fenrir War History and other relatively reliable war history research public accounts, and I read every article they wrote.
I am indeed just a hobbyist, but I am a hobbyist who reads a little bit more.
I think you’re going to pick on me. You’ve read at least a third of these books, right?
From now on, if you want to find fault with military issues in my books, you must provide screenshots of the book or diagrams, and indicate who wrote what page in the book.
Another purpose of doing this is to identify truly professional military leaders. Many of my friends who are in the military command field are also reading this book, and their friends may also be reading this book. I may not necessarily know these people. So avoid accidental injuries.
If you are really professional, you can choose, and I welcome you to choose.
You must first prove your professionalism.
Those who find fault without taking screenshots will be banned for 50 years.
