Arc of Gunfire

Closing remarks

It's finished!

And this time, those who say it's a bad ending are either colleagues who come to make trouble, or they haven't read the book at all, or my illiterate haters.

Don't worry about them.

Anyway, if you think it's a bad ending, just don't read the next one.

I think this book's ending is perfect, so let's meet on March 1st for the new book.

I want to write a naval battle theme for the new book, fighting the Fuso Empire, but I don't know if I can write it. Anyway, I have already written the beginning, and I will probably send the beginning to the editor tomorrow when I find him to change it to the finished state.

I am a bad author, and I rarely finished my books before.

At the beginning, I really didn't have the ability. For example, my first work "Blue Sky Battle Flag" was actually a comprehensive comic. At that time, I was very green, with only social experience in the ivory tower of university. Although I was working outside at that time, and even worked part-time at Guangdong TV for a while, I was still a teenager who had not been beaten by society.

So I cut the book at that time because I really couldn't write anymore and I didn't have enough ability.

But I have a very good habit, which is to insist on reading books that "I need to look up to", such as various famous works. I have systematically read the works of famous writers such as Hugo, Stendhal, Tolstoy, and Dickens. Recently, I have even started to "complete" them very purposefully. For example, I finished reading the complete works of Dostoyev in 2023.

Although I did not read the complete works of writers this year, I finished reading all the military works of David Glantz (in Chinese).

With such a large amount of reading, I am definitely making progress.

In addition, my social experience is constantly increasing.

Not long after "Blue Sky Battle Flag", I went to a social work agency for an internship and worked there for a whole year.

My love experience has also become richer. When I wrote "Blue Sky Battle Flag", I actually had only one serious relationship - that is, it developed to the stage of cohabitation, but when I wrote "I Teach Kendo in Tokyo" in 2020, I had already had three relationships that progressed to the stage of cohabitation.

All these experiences have made my writing ability leap forward.

In fact, when I was writing Kendo, I felt that it was not my lack of ability to finish it, but whether I was interested in finishing it.

And I maintained my interest for a year. In the first year of serialization of Kendo, the quality of the whole story was very high. After a year, I didn't want to write anymore, and then all kinds of problems occurred.

As long as the serialization time is compressed within one year in real time, as long as I want to write, I can finish it perfectly.

For the next book, whether I can write about fighting the Fuso Empire or not, I will continue to stay in my comfort zone.

Many people have actually discovered that I don't like to write about things that have already been written, and I don't like to stay in my comfort zone.

Ten years ago, my "My World War II Can't Be So Cute" was also the ceiling of modern war themes. The editor asked me to write another one, but I didn't. I chose to write a science fiction "Notes on Raising a Galaxy Overlord".

At that time, I was a boy chasing the wind, so I was always challenging myself.

But now, I want to land, and I want to prepare for the future down to earth.

For example, write three or five books in the comfort zone first, until I get the platinum title.

So I will continue to dance in the comfort zone for the next book.
