Arganthes: The Capital Of Dungeons

Chapter 80 - 72: Unexpected Nighttime Events (1)

Having drifted off to sleep, our heroes took their well-deserved rest before preparing for the coming battle ahead. Isha took this chance upon herself to replenish her much-needed energy, After succumbing to her sleep horrid nightmares surged through her consciousness feeling responsible for the attack on their village she had to came face to face with what had happened… Someone had to lead them to their secluded village, When she finally stood face to face with the one responsible… she awoke, drenched in sweat, but wasn't able to fall asleep again because of the adrenaline that pumped through her veins.

Ideas began springing up inside her head; "Would it be okay, the way we had discussed it?

Will they follow the plan?" Her mind kept pondering about what was to come at the break of dawn… She knew it was no use thinking about it this late in the night…

Yet she couldn't shake the feeling of something being wrong…

Unable to succumb to her tiredness she decided it was best to go for a stroll through the lands of the mayor. Not wanting to wake the others, she had to be as silent as a mouse.

Isha sat up straight inside her bed, unable to get used to the luxury inside the mansion she couldn't believe where she was… Was this all real? "Keep your head straight young one, no use wondering of in thought the night before the storm."

Marble could be seen all around the room, the light of the moon reflected gracefully upon the surface almost lighting up the room in a mysterious glow. If sleeping was not an option at the moment, Isha decided it was best to put her mind at ease exploring the area for a bit.

Better get the advantage beforehand she thought to herself.

Isha prepared to leave the room, slowly putting on her nightgown. Wanting to leave the room she made sure to restrain herself from making any loud noises. Slowly and gently she tried opening the door. The door softly creaked as it opened ever so slowly.

*creak*

Taking utmost care in her steps, she looked around the edges of the door,

but could not see anyone nearby. Silently Isha proceeded to the front door.

The first room came in sight, it was now that her sneaking skills would be put to the test. Slowly but surely, she moved gently… Almost like a feather in the wind. Passing the first room was a success, But something odd had happened ahead of her. Next to the room, she had passed without worry… The second room was open, just like hers. Just wanting to take a stroll outside, she couldn't care less about why the door was open.

Taking a mental note of the possibility that others were still awake she continued towards the stairs, to do so she had to pass a few more rooms without letting others know she had gone outside of her room. Isha passed the second room without much worry until she suddenly heard something crash to the floor.

*crash*

What she heard was nearby, almost certain it came out of the room that had its door opened up, curiosity got the better of her. The opening of the door was large enough to look through inside, which she decided to do on the whim of what she heard.

Looking inside, unaware of what to expect she tried finding what had made the sound.

Darkness filled the room… Unable to see much in the darkness she decided to leave it at that, but when she turned around… Isha could have sworn to see a dark silhouette within the room. The light of the moon illuminated the room. Isha instantly turned back around and froze. The silhouette moved! Slowly in moved within the darkness of the room!

Uncertain of what to do, Isha stood there in the hallway peering in the fast darkness.

Then suddenly she could feel a hand on her shoulder. This happened outside of her expectations which made her jump in surprise. Fear shot through her body, someone had found her!

Unable to keep in her anxiety she screamed over the top of her lungs.

"KYAAAAAAA!!!!"

Her skin turned white as snow thinking this would be the end. Her soul slowly left her body when the hand gently secured her footing on the ground. Isha turned around to see P.J's face. Calm overcame her body, it wasn't an ambush, was it?

"Good evening my lady, where might you be off to during this bright night?" P.J. asked nonchalantly as he pushed his glasses closer to his face. Hoping she had not woken up the others Isha immediately turned down her volume and whispered with a bit of annoyance towards P.J. "I was planning to take a stroll… Before noticing something was going on within the room, as I couldn't sleep because of what is to come."

"Hahaha, sorry to scare you my lady, but it seemed you were enjoying yourself at the expense of others, I just couldn't help but take a chance when it presents itself.

A sigh of relief left Isha's mouth when something else crashed down the floor in the room next door.

This time, both of them heard the distinct echo of something crashing throughout the hallway and decided to wait no more… Acting on instinct thoughts of possible scenarios rushed through their minds. What if something was happening within the room? Could they act in time?

What if they got ambushed at the dead of the night?!

Thinking of the worst case scenarios, both P.J. And Isha rushed inside, preparing for the worst.

But what they saw was nothing like what they had expected.
