Chapter 53 - Discussion

“I think I’ll ask the demons to teach me alchemy.”

When I got home from school, I immediately went into action.

In my room were Orobas, Crocell, and Valak.

“So, I need to know which demon knows alchemy.”

“Alchemy?……”

Crocell said and put her hand on her chin.

“Yes, Valak knows a demon who knows alchemy!”

Valak insists, raising her hand cheerfully.

Perhaps it was because she was in front of Crocell, but Valak seemed to be acting more like a cat than ever.

“I’d really like to know.”

“Eh, what should I do? I can’t decide whether or not to tell you the information Valak has…”

Valak smiles naughtily at me.

You should have just told me honestly.

It’s kind of a pain in the ass.

“Well, should I give you something for your information?”

“Valak not that greedy, but there’s something I want you to say.”

With that, Valak pinched the bottom of her skirt and paused.

What do you want me to say?

Oh no, I can’t think about it at all.

I wondered if there was any significance to Valak’s posture. I observed it carefully.

What? Valak’s outfit is different from yesterday’s.

She’s wearing a dress with a lot of fur, unlike her usual clothes.

Wait, a different outfit……?

Why would a demon, a spiritual being, be able to change into other clothes?

I mean, if you look closely, you can see that Valak is materializing now!

So, by materializing, she changed into a new outfit…….

“Maybe you used my money to buy some new clothes…….”

I think I remembered that Crocell and Valak had said they were going shopping while I was at school.

I didn’t think anything of it at the time because I leave most of the household chores, including shopping, to the demons.

“Mmmmh, that’s not important! I’m sure you’ll have something to say when you see the different Valak.”

“Uhm, cute…..?”

“Of course! Valak is the cutest thing in the world!”

Valak was giggling as she looked at herself in the hand mirror.

It seems that the correct answer was “cute”.

But that was not the point. I had to ask her about the money she used to buy new clothes.

My dad gave me the bare minimum when he kicked me out of the house, and it’s dwindling with the cost of daily food.

“I’m sure Crocell went with you on the excursion, didn’t she?”

She spoke to the other demon.

“Well, it seems that she purchased it without my knowledge…..”

Crocell said, breaking out in a cold sweat.

If that’s the case, there’s nothing wrong with Crocell.

By the way, Valak is still holding a hand mirror in her hand, gazing at her own reflection.

“Valak.”

I called out to her, but she didn’t seem to hear me and didn’t even turn around to look at me.

When Orobas saw this, he snapped his fingers and said, “Master, I’m ready to execute the infidel if you order me to!”

“I can’t buy clothes in the demon world, so I just got carried away and bought some.”

Orobas’ words seemed to resonate, and Valak defended them in a tearful voice.

“I know how you feel, but I don’t have that much money. I don’t want you to buy unnecessary things…….”

“I’m sorry…..”

You’re sorry, so I’ll forgive you this time.

In fact, we’re going to run out of money, so we need to do some money management.

Hmmm… I wish there was some way to solve this.

Well, I’ll think about that later.

More importantly for now:

“So, who is this demon that knows so much about alchemy?”

The first thing you need to do is learn alchemy.

“It’s Berito, 28th in the order!”

Valak insisted, her expression changing quickly.

“What? That one?”

Crocell suddenly questioned.

“You don’t agree? Crocell.”

“No, my image of a demon who was good at alchemy was Zagan, 61st in the order.”

“What do you think? Valak.”

I looked at Valak.

“Valak didn’t lie to you! If you ask me, Zagan might have been good at alchemy too…….”

“That’s true. I think Berito also said that he was good at alchemy.”

“Is that so?……”

Berito and Zagan are ranked 28th and 61st respectively.

Well, it wouldn’t be surprising if there were two demons who were good at alchemy.

“Which one should I summon?”

“Hmm, we’re not particularly close, so I don’t know…….”

“Valak doesn’t know either.”

They both nodded their heads.

“Don’t you know anything about them, Orobas?”

“I don’t think I can help you at all!”

And then Orobas collapsed on the spot.

Well, he was silent for a long time, so I assumed that he was probably right.

“Then, should I summon both of them?”

I came to that conclusion.

If I don’t know which one to summon, I’ll just summon both of them.

I’m pretty smart, I thought to myself.

“What? Then I’ll have to move out…….”

“If that’s the case, I want both Valak and Crocell to leave!”

In contrast to the disappointed Crocell, Valak seemed happy.

In fact, if Orobas can’t move out for some reason, then it will inevitably be Crocell and Valak who move out.

Also, I promised Fokalor that I would summon her once I found Orobas.

I guess I’ll have to summon Fokalor once, explain the situation, and then ask Fokalor to leave again. It would be a double effort, but it would be better to keep the promise.

Okay, now that we have a plan, let’s get to it.

“-Thou, 49th Crocell, 62nd Valak. Since you have responded so diligently to my request, I hereby grant you permission to leave to a suitable location. You are summoned by the sacred rituals of my magic and remain ready to return as soon as I call you. I command you to leave peacefully and quietly.”

I tried to see if I could get both of them to leave at the same time with one leaving spell.

“Please summon me again soon!”

“Bye!”

The evacuation seemed to have been successful, and they both left with a few words.

When I looked down, I saw that the clothes that Valak was wearing had fallen to the floor. You can’t bring back the clothes you bought here to the demon world, apparently.

She really only does unnecessary things.
