Chapter 57 - Astrology
“After alchemy, I guess astrology is next.”
Professor Redon had once told me that I should learn alchemy first, and then astrology if I could afford it.
The day after I learned alchemy, I thought about it and said so to myself.
“That’s why I summoned Focalor to ask her about demons that are good at astrology.”
I asked Orobas the same thing earlier, but he just said, “I’m sorry, sir! I don’t know!”
Well, I knew that Orobas was useless in such matters, so I didn’t mind.
So, I summoned Focalor this time to apologize for the fact that she left immediately after I summoned her last time…….
“Well, Focalor……, what’s the situation like?”
“I’m just holding my master on my lap.”
“No, it’s just……”
I’m not sure what to say in response to Focalor’s matter-of-fact assertion.
This posture is really embarrassing because Focalor’s chest touches my back.
Hmmm, it seems like Focalor’s skinship has been getting more intense lately, perhaps in response to Crocell.
“I’d like to see Orobas get away because he’s watching.”
Orobas has been watching us in silence for a while now.
“You don’t need to worry about that horse-breed.”
That’s a terrible thing to say.
But Orobas didn’t show any particular reaction, as if he wasn’t interested in being verbally abused.
If he doesn’t mind, I don’t really have anything to say to him.
“So, Focalor. What do you know about astrological demons?”
“In that case, Oliax, ranked 59th in the hierarchy, would be the best choice.”
Oliax.
Now that I’ve been introduced, let’s summon him.
“I command thee strictly in the name of Norman. Thou shalt appear as a gale and show thyself in the magic circle. Come here from any part of the world and answer all my questions with rational answers. And bring my wish into reality. Come – Oliax, 59th in order!”
The magic circle started to glow, a sight I’ve already seen many times before.
And then a demon appeared.
He had an odd shape.
He had a lion’s head and a snake from the body down.
“Hmm, it looks like you’ve summoned me.”
Oliax muttered to himself.
“Uhm, Mr. Oliax. Do you have a favor to ask me?……”
“Are you, by any chance, the current owner of Goetia, Mister Norman?”
“Yes, I am.”
Mr. Oliax asked me that right away, and I honestly affirmed it.
It seems that the demons in the demon world know about my existence, as Berito, who I’ve summoned before, also knew about me.
“I see. If that’s the case, could you grant me a wish?”
Then Oliax got down on his knees in front of me, one knee touching the ground.
“A wish……?”
“Yes, I have a wish that I really want to fulfill in this life,” Oliax said in a gracious manner.
“I’m willing to help you make your wish come true, but only on the condition that you teach me astrology properly.”
“If my wish is granted, I will generously share my knowledge of astrology with you, Master Norman.”
Oliax promised.
If you can teach me astrology, I’ll have no trouble making wishes come true.
“All right. So, what is your wish?”
“There is someone I really want you to kill.”
“Huh……?”
What did you just say, you demon?
