Artificer Adventure Guide

Chapter 59 Actions of all parties

After a while, all six bugbear barbarians lay on the ground, and the mind flayer arcanist returned to the Nautilus spaceship with the hobgoblin and six brains.

Other goblins who came to replace the shift discovered the bodies of the six bugbears soon after.

This was soon communicated to the now hobgoblin chieftain.

The goblin with a wild magic path was sent to investigate the scene and came to the conclusion that "a 5th-level spell had been used at the scene."

After learning that the enemy would use this high-level spell, the goblin chief sent several more messengers to the Guardian Tribe and the Traveler Tribe.

The former is the tribe that likes to collect all kinds of precious materials among the six origin tribes, while the latter studies all kinds of weird knowledge all day long.

If anything, the previous hobgoblin chief thought that his tribe might be able to capture the Nautilus spaceship.

Then the current hobgoblin chief is convinced that the enemy cannot be dealt with by a single tribe.

From the other party's actions of capturing the hobgoblin and taking away the bugbear's brain, it can be inferred that the other party has irreconcilable conflicts with the goblins.

At least that's true for hobgoblins and bugbears.

"It's time to bring the glory of the goblin back to the world! That damn monster!"

After hammering his throne hard, the hobgoblin chief's only worry now was that the other party would not give him time to communicate with other tribes.

But what he didn't know was that the mind flayer arcanist also needed a certain amount of time to transform the captured hobgoblin into a new mind flayer.

"How does it feel?"

In the utility room on the second floor of the giant minecart, Carl looked at Hope and asked him how he felt.

But Hope just frowned and did not answer Karl's question.

Just when Carl began to worry about gains and losses, Hope suddenly stretched out his tail in front of him and curled up into a ball, with the tip of his tail trying hard to straighten up, barely forming a thumbs-up shape.

“Good as always!”

As she said these words, her originally frowning brows relaxed, revealing an expression of contentment that came from the bottom of her heart.

"Really? If you're not satisfied, I can adjust the size. It's not a problem for me."

Stepping forward and grabbing Hope's shoulders, Carl turned them over and moved them around, as if he wanted to confirm from all directions whether what Hope said was sincere or compromised.

"Really! Really! Don't I still believe in your craftsmanship? Look, the connection between the gauntlet and the gauntlet is so flexible! I can even use the sharp parts here to attack the enemy!"

After putting some distance away from Karl, Hope raised her hand and showed off her attack skills with the arm armor that Karl had just finished making for her.

The two are trying on the new armor made by Karl.

"What about the shin armor side? Is there any discomfort?"

"No, no! Everything is fine! I just wanted to tease you!"

Seeing Karl's reluctance, Hope had no choice but to truthfully tell the truth why she had just pretended to be uncomfortable.

"This is a life-saving thing. If you feel uncomfortable or unaccustomed to anything, you have to tell me. With our relationship, are you still afraid of troublesome me?"

Seeing Karl's insistence, Hope pursed her lips, turned sideways, then raised her left leg backwards, pointed to the combat boots on her feet and the greaves on her calves and said:

"It's just a little troublesome to put on."

"Crack!"

Hope's wide-open forehead was hit with a blow to his head. Looking at Hope's staring eyes, Karl said with a look of "surprise": "You really dare to mention it!"

Seeing Hope's eyes widening even more, Karl squatted down and took off the opponent's left greaves and combat boots.

"The way they are worn cannot be modified. This is to make them fit more firmly on your body. How about the breathability and comfort? Will they feel stuffy?"

Standing on one leg on the ground, Hope shook his body awkwardly.

"It's not bad in this regard. The breathability of the monitor lizard skin is quite good, and your theory of human mechanics is also very useful."

"Very good! Then let's find a time to go out and try the effect."

After showing Hope how to put on the boots and greaves again, Karl stood up and announced his next plan.

During this period of time, as the two trained, all kinds of food were consumed much faster than the two initially expected.

Now, the two of them only have about a week's food rations left.

In order not to rest in vain, Karl worked overtime to make new armor and equipment, preparing to return to the top in the near future to bring back some fresh meat and mushrooms.

But when he heard that he was about to go out soon, Hope's eyes began to become evasive.

After getting along for such a long time, the two of them knew their relationship well. Seeing Hope's eyes twinkling, Karl counted his fingers and found that Hope would soon be on her menstrual period again.

After looking down and thinking for a moment, Carl sighed and patted Hope on the head.

"Forget it, I'll go out then."

Upon hearing this, Hope's expression changed.

"No! It's too dangerous outside! We can temporarily stop training and reduce food consumption!"

"Don't worry, I am someone who survived the parasitism of the mind flayer larvae. I have psychic powers to detect the enemy. If I find the enemy, I will definitely run away."

As if he was afraid that Hope would be worried, Karl pointed to the Tiga Type 2 power armor in the corner and continued confidently:

"I have replaced the entire power armor with new materials. Normal attacks cannot even leave scratches on my power armor."

Despite such a guarantee, Hope still looked unmoved.

"How about I explore the other direction of the cave?"

The pool leading to the woodland is now under the surveillance of both the goblins and the mind flayers, but this pool is not the only entrance and exit of this underground cave.

When Carl and Hope were diving in the cave before, he found that there seemed to be other cave entrances in some places around the cave.

However, because of various things before, Carl did not go to explore.

This proposal made Hope a little tempted.

Although those passages lead to unknown environments, according to the current situation, no matter how unknown it is, it is better than returning to the mushroom forest.

Not to mention that the beasts in the forest are almost gone, it is still unclear whether Carl can hunt prey. The goblins and mind flayers alone are enough for him to drink a pot.

"This is OK."

After a struggle in his heart, Hope nodded and agreed to the new proposal.

After the baptism of many crises in the underground city, Carl now looks a bit resolute.

After hugging and saying goodbye to Hope, he put on his power armor, left the giant mine cart, and began a new exploration.

"So, which direction should we go next? Whoever the little rooster points to, I will choose!"

Carl casually chose one of the several cave entrances, put down his arms, and strode towards the cave entrance.
