As The Wind Blows Your Scent To Me

Chapter 152 - It's My Gift For You

"Aaaa, why so many people today?"

Chiharu moped as she aggrievedly stared at the full family restaurant in front of her.

They were so many people inside! How could they eat? She was already hungry!

Kazuya, Himari and Izumi looked around them.

The family restaurant where they chose to dine for lunch was indeed full of patrons, both inside the building and outside in the restaurant garden. Maybe because it was the weekend, this place became the parents' choice to have meals with their children.

Although there were none who were queuing outside the restaurant, all four of them couldn't spot a vacant table. The employees were all busy coming and going from one table to the next.

"Should we go somewhere else?" Kazuya lowered his gaze to Izumi.

His nephew was the one who suggested them coming here.

Izumi stared back at his uncle before his eyes darted to his sister. Chiharu was carried on one arm by their uncle.

The dumpling's lips were pouting as she was longingly looking at the hamburger and pudding set for children. The colorful photo of the meal was displayed on a large screen.

Hurm...

Izumi deliberately chose this restaurant because he knew Chiharu loved eating here. But, in this situation, it would take too long if they waited.

Furthermore, Teacher Kato was with them. What if his homeroom teacher was actually hungry?

The little boy didn't want to make their prospective aunt candidate starving just because of his little sister. The good impression should always be maintained ah!

"Then, let's go to..."

"I'll go and ask the cashier first."

Before Izumi could finish speaking, Himari chimed in. She looked at Kazuya, "Wait here. It's better to ask before leaving."

Then, Himari walked out from where they stood to the cashier counter. Three people were queuing at the counter. Just in time, a waiter was passing by. She quickly stopped him and asked if there was any vacant table.

"Ah!" The waiter smiled. He answered swiftly, "If it's just for four people, there's a newly vacant one in the garden. The patrons have just left. Please, come with me."

Himari glanced over her shoulders, looking at the family of three. She laughed quietly then beckoned at them to come to her. Kazuya quickly brought Izumi and Chiharu to her.

"The waiter said there's one in the garden," Himari gestured at the young man with a lift of her chin, "Let's go now."

Kazuya smiled softly. He just nodded.

Thus, the dumpling's eyes twinkled brightly as the image of her potential aunt turned into a beautiful and caring goddess.

"Teacher Kato~ Chiharu love love Teacher Kato! Mua~"

Himari was baffled. Sometimes, she still couldn't get used to how excessively this dumpling would praise her.

Chiharu was continuously giving her flying kiss before Kazuya held her hand and gave her a stern look.

She was just this happy for food?

"We're sorry, dear guests. It would take some time before your meal is ready," The waiter who escorted them to the table apologized after taking their orders. He looked at Chiharu and Izumi, "Would you like me to prepare something to do or play with for children?"

"Yes, please," Kazuya was unblinking as he answered. He didn't even bother to fix the young man's misunderstanding, "It'd help us a lot. If not, their mother and I would be bothered by their antics."

"Then, I'll be right back," The waiter held back his laugh. He bowed before he quickly left.

Once the waiter left, Kazuya let his eyes wandered to Himari who was now blushing red.

"Your face looks so red," Kazuya said in an innocent voice, "I think the air is cool enough. The shade is good too. Do we have to change places?"

Himari shot him a glare. Her action was replied with laughter by this brazen man.

The table where the previous patrons used was placed next to the white garden fence of the restaurant. Neatly trimmed bushes adorned the spot around the fence together with a few flowerbeds.

The shady trees that stood upright in the garden provide shade to the patrons who chose to dine outside. In such an environment, the air around them was cool and refreshing.

Soon, the waiter returned. He gave Chiharu and Izumi a set of small drawing books and colored pencils each.

The dumpling was elated once she was given the free gift. She took one book and one set of colored pencils then she excitedly looked at Himari.

"Teacher Kato~ Let's draw and color together?" The dumpling giggled as she asked Himari. Her cute and round face was beaming with joy.

"Okay," Himari smiled, she readily agreed.

Because Chiharu was sitting in a child's dining chair, Himari got up from her seat and moved her chair closer to the little bun. Chiharu was grinning from one ear to the next.

It's time to get clingy with her aunt-to-be ah!

Thus, the dumpling happily monopolized Himari as both of them decided which colors should they use.

On one side, Kazuya pressed down his laughter from erupting. It was too obvious what his niece was trying to do. She really wanted to get on Himari's good side.

"Izumi, do you want it?" Kazuya flipped open the thin book.

Izumi declined, "I just wanna play with my phone."

Thus, the boy lowered his head before he seriously played a mobile game. He was trying to get to the new rank but, he was still stuck on the same level. Moreover, he was busy with basketball practice this week so, he didn't have time to play often.

He had to level up!

Kazuya hummed softly. His eyes wandered from one table to the next.

Some of the patrons were entertaining their children by drawing and coloring on the book while some children went to play inside the playroom. Clearly, they were also waiting for their meals to be served.

His gaze fell on the young lady sitting opposite him.

Himari was intently listening to Chiharu as both of them were coloring. They sat head to head, hands moving on the book with one colored pencil each before they switched to other colors.

Kazuya's eyes returned to the blank book. Something struck his mind as his gaze slowly returned to Himari.

What was envisioned in his mind chased the remaining unpleasantness that he felt because of the sudden phone call from his mother earlier.

En, let's just do it.

Then, he quietly manifested his idea on the blank white paper.

"Dear guests, we're sorry for the wait."

Sometime later, the waiter came back with a tray of drinks. The food was still not ready. Chiharu and Izumi quickly took a sip. Both of them were so relieved to be able to drink cold drinks.

"Ah~ So sweet and cold~"

Chiharu exclaimed. She put down her glass then resumed drawing and coloring.

While the dumpling once again was immersed in her world, Himari lifted up her eyes. She silently scanned the man who was busy drawing something until now.

"Kazuya, aren't you thirsty?"

What did this man draw that required all of his attention?

His hand didn't stop moving on the book. The other colored pencils were scattered on one side of his seat.

Each of his movements was quick yet they didn't look sloppy. Even though she was just looking from a distance, Himari couldn't help but assume if this man had a talent in art.

Kazuya answered without looking back at Himari, "Wait for a little. A bit more..."

That man only looked up from whatever he was doing after the waiter came with their meals fifteen minutes later. He put down the colored pencil, closed the book and handed it to Himari.

Himari blinked when suddenly she was given the book by him. She blankly stared at the book in Kazuya's hand.

Kazuya chuckled lowly, "It's my gift for you."

En? A gift?

Himari took the book. She slowly flipped it open.

A pleasant surprise gleamed in her eyes once she saw how colorful and bright the myriad of colors on the page of the drawing book was.

Flowers in colors pink, purple and yellow spiraled among each other with their green vines intertwining together.

In the middle of the blossoming flowers, a young lady in a white dress was smiling softly. She was sitting on one of the petals. Small flowers were dotted in her round eyes, appearing so radiant even among the flowers.

Her cheeks were tinged with slight pink color. The black strand of her long hair tousled behind her as if a breeze blew past the young lady.

This drawing was simply enchanting.

"You, this is..." Himari abruptly looked up from the drawing. Her eyes were filled with disbelief, "You really... drew this?"

Her reaction incited laughter from Kazuya. He shrugged and gave her a smirk, "Hurm, I think my hands were the ones that moved on the paper. Or, do you see someone else did it?"

A faint blush tinted Himari's cheeks, resembling the young lady's cheeks on the drawing.

Kazuya pressed down another bout of laughter. He curled his lips up, looking so pleased to see her bashful look.

"Teacher, Teacher, Uncle can draw so good ah~ Uncle can draw so many beautiful flowers!"

Chiharu's soft and milky voice pulled Himari out of her daze. She turned her head and blankly stared at the dumpling. Chiharu gave her a cute grin.

"Your uncle can draw so well?" Himari asked back.

This was her first time hearing this!

"En!" Chiharu cleverly nodded, "Teacher, you know, Uncle gave Chiharu a princess drawing! So beautiful! Like in the film~"

Himari slowly glanced back at the man. Kazuya just gave her a satisfied smile on his handsome face.

It turned out... There were still so many things she didn't know or expect from him.

The bright sunlight drizzled on the colorful drawing of a young lady. The vibrant colors appeared so dazzling yet warm in Himari's eyes until they slowly engulfed her heart.
