As The Wind Blows Your Scent To Me

Chapter 197 - Can I Go And See You Now?

At the same time, a certain someone had just landed in the airport. With a huge black suitcase in his left hand, the man held a sleek-looking paper bag in his right. The glow of the setting sun fell on his figure as he walked next to the floor-to-ceiling windows.

"Boss, are you sure you don't want me to send you back?"

Iwata glanced at Kazuya. Ever since they disembarked the flight, his boss only had a smile tugging on his lips.

Eh, no. His boss had looked so joyful from the moment they left the hotel this evening.

Did he was that eager to return home? After all, his boss managed to wrap up everything earlier than scheduled.

Shaking his head, Kazuya looked back at his assistant, "You head home first. I've to make a stop somewhere."

Iwata shrugged, thinking that the boss' happy mood might be due to his new girlfriend. He had heard his other boss, Shuichi talking about Boss Hayashi not being single anymore. The small number of ladies in the office also gossiped about that.

"Okay. See you in the office tomorrow... Ah, I forgot that you'd attend your nephew's sports days."

Iwata slapped his forehead.

The reason why Kazuya worked hard to end the business trip early was because of Izumi and Chiharu's sports festival that would begin tomorrow. Although most parents would just join one day of the festivals, he kept to how he had done before, going to both days.

Moreover, now he had another reason that needed his attendance at the school; Himari.

"Just call me if there's anything," Kazuya passed the paper bag from his right hand to the left as he took out his phone next, "You should take a day of rest too, Iwata. Don't work too hard."

"Hehe, if you already said so," Iwata answered cheerfully.

Both of them parted ways in the middle of the arrival hall. Kazuya moved closer to one of the huge pillars of the airport, avoiding people who kept coming and going from different ways.

"Hello, you've arrived already?" Himari's excited voice echoed from the end of the line.

"I missed you," said Kazuya without missing a beat. His eyes softened as his heart fluttered due to his lady's happy tone, "Can I go and see you now? I don't think I could hold on until tomorrow."

"Okay~ I won't say no if my boyfriend wanna see me now," replied Himari cheekily.

Thus, Kazuya immediately walked out of the arrival hall. He flagged a cab and asked the driver to go to Himari's apartment.

Aunt Mayu had been notified of his arrival. Kazuya also said he would go to see Himari first. The housekeeper was happy to hear that. She even said he didn't have to worry about the two siblings. He should spend some time with his girlfriend before coming back home.

Kazuya was extremely pleased with Aunt Mayu's attitude. It was obvious that she was supporting his relationship with Himari.

At seven, the cab slowly pulled up in front of the apartment. Kazuya paid for the fare, brought the luggage and the paper bag with him out of the cab then he walked upstairs. The guards who were already familiar with him just allowed him to enter.

But, Kazuya was baffled to see there were no lights coming from the inside of her apartment.

She hadn't got home from school?

Kazuya knew about Himari having to return late from school because of the preparations for tomorrow but, she didn't even mention it during their phone call earlier.

When he wanted to contact her again, the sound of a car stopping downstairs attracted his attention. It was a cab. Himari was getting out of it.

Kazuya walked closer to the balcony. His movement was caught by Himari's eyes. She smiled brightly, waved at him before she ran upstairs.

"Have you waited long?" Himari panted slightly once she arrived in front of him.

Kazuya smiled helplessly, "Why didn't you tell me you're still busy earlier?"

It seemed like his lady was still in her outfit from this morning. She looked a bit unkempt, maybe to her running around being busy for tomorrow.

"No, ah. I just accompanied a teacher home. She's quite sick," answered Himari. She quickly unlocked the door, "Come in."

Himari switched on the lights of the living room. Once the darkroom was brightened by the light, she saw her fat cat lying under the low table. He just shifted slightly from his initial position before she went to work.

Himari was in disbelief. She knew that Chobi was so lazy but, had he kept on sleeping there since this morning?

No wonder his weight had never gone down.

"Welcome back," Himari focused back on the man who followed her from behind. The man's suitcase was placed upright next to the closed door, "Hehe, you must have been so tired ah. Do you come to see me to rejuvenate yourself?"

Her choice of words made him laugh.

"Didn't I say I miss you?" Kazuya took another step closer to her. His tall shadows fell on Himari, his eyes and lips were smiling, "So, did you miss me as well?"

Himari's cheeks pinkened yet she didn't surrender under the man's teasing stare.

"I missed you too."

Although they still talked on the phone for a short time during the days Kazuya was on his business trip, she still missed him. Her busyness because of her teaching job and the sports festival preparations didn't make her miss him less.

Himari further shortened their distance by hugging him. Kazuya was slightly surprised by her taking the initiative yet he swiftly wrapped his long arms around her.

But, he had just hugged her back for a second before Himari suddenly struggled free from him.

"Himari?" He was confused.

"I'm sweaty ah. How could I forgot?" Himari tried to push Kazuya back. She suddenly was reminded of the fact that she hadn't bathe after a long day of work.

"Hahaha! Silly, just let me hug you."

Kazuya burst into laughter. He really couldn't comprehend Himari's foolish thinking sometimes.

Thus, Himari accepted defeat because Kazuya didn't want to let her go. Both of them were enveloped in an embrace, standing under the lights of the living room.

"Go and have your bath. I'll order some takeouts for us. Let's have dinner together, en?" Kazuya patted her head.

"Okay~"

Since Kazuya didn't seem like he would leave anytime sooner, Himari just let him do what he wanted. She entered her bedroom, chose loungewear to be changed into then she scurried out of the bedroom.

Kazuya was busy choosing food for dinner when Himari walked inside the small washroom next to the kitchen.

"Err... I'd just have a quick shower," decided Himari with a flushed face.

She suddenly realized that even though this was her own apartment, it felt weird to have a man waiting outside in the living room, even though the said man was her own boyfriend.

Unknown to Himari, a certain someone also found it strange as he kept sitting in the living room.

Kazuya tried hard to not think of the splashing sound of water hitting the floor of the washroom. He coughed once then staring intently at the screen of his phone.

After what seemed like a long time, Himari finally emerged out of the washroom. Her long hair was wrapped up by a towel. She wore a long T-shirt, the hem fell over just above her knees.

"The... the food isn't here yet? Why don't you go and freshen up first?" Himari smiled awkwardly.

"Okay, I should do that..." Kazuya returned the same stiff smile.

He just wanted to wash his face. As Kazuya walked past her, he inevitably smelled the faint fragrance of her body wash.

It was sweet and alluring.

Kazuya battled with his inner self as he washed his face with cold water. He also ignored that Himari had just taken a shower inside the same washroom he was using.

Err... He didn't want to have any perverted thoughts, really.

Kazuya inwardly berated himself for acting like a high schoolboy. Where did the confident man who often teased her go?

"Himari, I have something for you."

Once he got out of the washroom, in order to avoid continuing to feel awkward, Kazuya shifted his attention to the paper bag that was seated next to the suitcase. He grabbed it before walked to Himari who was sitting on the strawberry couch.

Kazuya sat on the floor, "For you."

Himari put down her phone. She giggled, "Hehe, it's my gift?"

"Didn't I already say I'd get you something?" replied Kazuya with a smile, "Open it."

Himari got down from the couch, sitting on the carpeted floor next to him. She carefully brought out a pristine white box from the paper bag then opened the lid. Surprised, her eyes widened.

"It's so pretty~"

What lying inside the box was an outfit intended for summer.

Himari gently pulled the yellow dress, letting the soft fabric draping over her lap as she admired it. A pearly white scarf, a thin bracelet and a cute little handbag came together with the dress.

The boat neckline of the dress was dotted with tiny white daisy flowers. The bodice was plain while the skirt that extended from the waist was imprinted with small flowers in the colors of white, pink and lilac. The hems of the short sleeves were cut to be scallop-edged.

All in all, this dress was so pretty.

"Like it?" Kazuya smiled.

Himari grinned, "Love it!"

Hehe, she could wear it during their date later. Or she could even wait until summer arrived.

Kazuya was relieved to see her looking so happy with the gift.

From the first moment he saw the dress, he thought of her.
