As The Wind Blows Your Scent To Me

Chapter 309 - The Faint Sound Of Small Feet Pitter-Pattered Still Lingered In His Mind

Ryuu was secretly transported back to the city after two days. He was admitted inside a private hospital before the doctor discharged him, allowing him to rest at home.

Yuina remained by Ryuu's side, no matter when he was still in the hospital or back at their home.

The thing that Yuina spoke to Ryuu about had finally been agreed by him. He had notified both Yousuke and Riku, giving time for the manager and assistant to prepare for the revelation.

While Ryuu was nursed to health by his wife, Kazuya was also in bliss as he was able to stick to his own wife as much as he could, much to Chiharu's dismay.

The new weekend arrived. In a blink of an eye, both of them had been married for a week.

"Uncle, Chiharu wanna sit with Aunt too."

A certain dumpling pouted as she envied seeing her uncle lying his head on her aunt's lap.

All four of them had just eaten dinner, cooked by the newlywed couple. They were currently lazing in the lounge, enjoying the sound of the chime resonating in the night air.

Kazuya had no qualm about placing his head on Himari's lap in front of the two children. He crossed his long legs and placed them on the armrest.

"Go and sit with your brother," said Kazuya with a languid smile. He raised up a hand then pinched Chiharu's chubby cheek, "Don't disturb me and my wife."

Chiharu narrowed her eyes, feeling so dissatisfied with her uncle.

A bulb lit in her mind. She changed her strategy by showing a pair of pitiful-looking eyes to Himari.

"Aunt... Uncle no like Chiharu anymore..."

Himari burst into laughter. Her heart was tickled by the dumpling's antics.

"Come and sit here," Himari pat on the vacant side, feeling sorry and funny toward Chiharu at the same time, "Don't listen to your uncle ah."

"Yay~!"

Chiharu quickly climbed on the couch, showed a triumphant smile to her uncle then nuzzled in Himari's left arm. She poked her head out and smiled sweetly at Himari.

"Aunt, you're the best! Mua~"

A kiss fell on Himari's face, exuding a faint scent of milk and sweets.

"You're sweet~"

Himari returned the gesture by smooching Chiharu's chubby cheeks, inciting laughter from the little dumpling.

Kazuya laughed helplessly seeing his two ladies, big and small become closer with each other.

Every time he returned home from work, he would only be met with peace.

Later that night, after putting the children to sleep, the husband and wife went to their bedroom. All of them had to sleep early because they would go to Himari's hometown tomorrow morning.

Akemi was excitedly waiting for their arrival.

Himari got in bed right after applying her night skincare routine. She wore a spaghetti-strap pink satin nightgown that was gifted by her husband the other day. The fabric clung to her small frame.

Kazuya swiftly pulled his wife inside his arms. He pressed his nose on the crook of Himari's neck, smiling as her sweet scent swirled to the top of his nose. Lifting up his chin, he looked at his wife's face.

"Let's stop by the expressway tomorrow for breakfast. Taichi said there's a new eatery opened before the second exit. The place has nice scenery near paddy fields."

"Ah, so that's why you said I don't have to prepare breakfast tomorrow," Himari blinked.

Mirth danced in his eyes as Kazuya laughed pleasantly, "Mom said Uncle Yoshiro would be waiting for our arrival too. Do you think they would get married next?"

Kazuya's relationship with his mother-in-law progressed well. He didn't even mind if Akemi called him to just gossip about something happening in the village.

"They should~ I'd be more at ease thinking that there's someone taking care of Mom when I'm far away from him," admitted Himari sincerely.

Kazuya just smiled. He understood that his wife had always been worried about letting her mother live alone in their hometown.

Summer break would end in a week. The couple planned to stay for three nights and two days in the village before they proceeded to move Himari's belongings out from her apartment.

"Honey, later, accompany me to meet him, en?" said Himari.

A yawn escaped her lips, her eyelashes fluttered as her sleepiness kicked in.

Himari wanted to settle the matter between her and Jun before school started. She didn't have the time to do so this week because Kazuya was busy with his pending workload.

"As if I would allow my sweetheart to meet her ex alone?" replied Kazuya jokingly. He pressed a kiss on Himari's forehead, "Go to sleep, my wife. I love you."

"Good night, dear husband," Himari found a comfortable place in Kazuya's arms. She smiled softly before kissing his chin, "I love you too."

That night was a peaceful one.

Kazuya had yet to sleep even after Himari fell into slumber. He silently watched his wife who would occasionally nuzzle her head on his chest. One of his hands was put around her waist while the other played with the locks of her hair.

Himari's words rang in his ears.

Kazuya couldn't deny that he was actually uncomfortable when Himari first brought up the topic of meeting that man. He just quietly suppressed his discomfort from being seen by her.

If possible, he didn't even want them to cross paths anymore.

Yet, Kazuya also understood this was something that Himari had to do in order for her to continue moving forward.

"Maybe... I should meet her too?"

Kazuya rejected the idea as soon as he pictured him seeing Sayuri.

Even though Sayuri showed that she still had feelings for him, Kazuya thought that he didn't have to go as far as meeting her just to once again convince her to give him up.

Their breakup three years ago wasn't the same as what occurred in Himari and Jun's relationship that left loose ends.

Kazuya pushed the matter to the back of his mind. Rather than thinking of someone or anything unimportant, it was better if he indulged in the feeling of having his wife's soft and fragrant body next to him.

A smile crept up his lips as Kazuya placed a palm on Himari's lower abdomen.

After a few discussions, both of them decided to hold off the matter regarding conceiving their first child.

Kazuya and Himari loved the idea of having children of their own. Yet, they also agreed that they should spend more time together in their two-persons world.

They got married too quickly after a short courtship.

Still, Kazuya couldn't help but picture how more beautiful his life would be with the arrival of their children.

Especially if they inherited his wife's cute and lovable antics.

Suppressing laughter, Kazuya lightly shook his head. He gently pressed the back of Himari's head to his chest, feeling his heart drumming beneath it.

That night, he had a good dream. The faint sound of small feet pitter-pattered still lingered in his mind even after he woke up the next day.

"Why do you smile like that?"

Himari asked curiously as she entered their bedroom. She had just gone to see the two children. They had woken up as early as dawn.

Looking at his wife meaningfully, he took two steps toward her then effortlessly hugged her.

"Just thinking that my life is so blessed," replied Kazuya with soft laughter, "Because of you, sweetheart."

His laughter echoed in the bedroom when Himari made a face.

"You're really a sweet talker ah," Himari forced herself to not smile, throwing a glare at her husband, "Don't you go sweet-talking to other women, okay?"

"Hehe, only exclusively to you~" Kazuya smirked.

Himari pinched her husband's waist. The man only laughed harder before the sound died the moment he kissed her lips.

Himari, Kazuya, the two children and a tabby headed to Himari's hometown. They just cushioned their stomachs with simple sandwiches because of Kazuya's plan to have breakfast at the restaurant.

As to how Taichi mentioned to Kazuya, the restaurant really had nice and peaceful scenery. It was worth it to wait until almost one hour and a half before they arrived there.

All of them chose to sit in the yard of the restaurant, feeling the morning breeze sweeping the surface of the paddy fields.

The vivid green color blended harmoniously with the shiny, steel blue sky. White puffy clouds drifted in the sky with a flock of birds flew beneath them.

"Aunt, can we swim in the river later?" Izumi suddenly asked a question, his voice laced with anticipation, "Granny said the water is so cool and clear."

"Yes! Yes! Chiharu wanna swim too!" The dumpling chimed in, eyes sparkling.

Instead of calling Akemi 'Grandaunt', the children addressed her as 'Granny' even though she was the mother of their aunt-in-law. Both Izumi and Chiharu were happy because Akemi allowed them to call her that.

The siblings had forgotten the last time they saw their late mother's mother. To them, Akemi was their new maternal grandmother.

"You can even hike the hill behind the village," Himari was supportive of the siblings' adventurous spirit. Her lips curled up, "After you guys take a nap, we'll go to the river. As for the hill, we can go there tomorrow morning."

"Okay!"

"Hehehe~ Aunt's the best!"

The siblings eagerly finished their breakfast. Happy smiles danced on their faces.

Himari turned her eyes to where Kazuya sat. She was confused as she saw him appearing to be in a daze.

"Honey?"

Himari gently touched Kazuya's right wrist, feeling a bit concerned to see such a look in his eyes when he was just as happy as the children earlier.

Kazuya blinked, dispersing the depressing thoughts from his mind. He looked back at his wife's concerned gaze.

"It's nothing," Kazuya smiled. He stared at the empty plate in front of Himari, "Seems like you enjoy their croffles. Eat more, sweetheart."

Kazuya picked the croffle from his plate then transferred it to Himari's plate. He spread some butter and strawberry jam on the pastry before slicing it into tiny pieces using his fork and knife.

Himari just accepted his gesture. She ate the croffle while also feeding her husband some.

His wife's smile lessened the uneasiness that suddenly sprouted in Kazuya's heart.
