As The Wind Blows Your Scent To Me

Chapter 82 - Be A Good Boy And Go To Sleep

"Do you like my surprise for you?"

"I don't like it. I love it!"

At the same time that Himari was dealing with her mother's weird suggestion, Yuina was having a phone call with her husband who was away from her.

Yuina and Hiro had just finished their lunch at the restaurant within the resort compound. While Hiro was dozing off inside his room, she took the opportunity to talk to Ryuu.

Yuina had spent one night in the resort here but, she could only speak to Ryuu on the second day.

Yesterday, her husband was so busy until they couldn't have a phone call. Actually, Ryuu insisted to call her but Yuina refused. Instead, she urged him to go and have his most needed rest.

Because the daytime here was nighttime at where Ryuu was currently, Yuina was reluctant to disturb his time. Even though her husband was adept at traveling overseas, it was still hard for him to deal with his jetlag.

Even the phone call right now was made after countless persuasions from Ryuu.

"What else would you do today? I heard the hiking trail of the hill behind the resort is good. Drag Hiro there with you."

The farm resort where Hiro brought his cousin sister was located within an old neighborhood. The buildings there carried a sense of a traditional village. Both of them had ventured out to the local market and enjoyed the cuisines and arts offered by the residents.

"It's already noon here. Hiro said he wants to see the sunrise so we would go tomorrow," Yuina glanced out of the window, staring at the clear blue sky, "We have talked much. When would you go to sleep?"

From the international clock that she set up, Yuina knew it was supposed to be midnight at her husband's place.

If he didn't rest now, when should he rest?

"Wife~, we have only talked for less than 10 minutes. You already want to discard me?"

At the sound of her husband's aggrieved voice, Yuina laughed softly.

"Silly. You know that I'm just worried about your resting time," She shook her head in helplessness.

"I know but... I miss you so much. How could I sleep well if you're not here?"

Ryuu didn't even feel ashamed to voice out his desire and a deep longing for his wife. The curve of Yuina's lips softened.

"I can't sleep well these days too," Yuina confessed with a smile, "So, your phone call today would help me to sleep better tonight."

It was not just Ryuu who missed her dearly, she also missed him terribly.

"See! It's good that your husband made a call! I know that my voice has soothing effects," answered Ryuu triumphantly, earning laughter from Yuina.

If not for the nature of their marriage as well as having her own career, Yuina really wanted to follow him wherever he would go.

There were times when Ryuu asked if she wanted to quit her job since he alone was enough to support their livelihood but, Yuina rejected the idea.

She still wanted to earn her own money. Even though Yuina didn't know if she would continue working until reaching old age or not, for now, she didn't want to leave her job.

Ryuu respected her decision. He just asked her to not overworking herself. Yuina laughed when she heard it, saying he was the one who would be more tired than her during working hours.

"Honey, just go to sleep ah. It's so late already. What's your schedule for tomorrow? Do you need to be at somewhere early?"

Really, if she didn't push him, this phone call might last for an hour.

"I have a photoshoot with a local magazine here at ten then... Huargh!"

Yuina couldn't resist laughing when Ryuu suddenly let out a loud yawn. It was so obvious that he already reached his limits.

"See! Your body tells you to sleep! Alright, be a good boy and go to sleep. Bye-bye, I'll call you later!"

"My wife, don't..."

Tut!

Yuina hardened her heart and hang up the phone. If she didn't do it, the call would only go on and on. Clearly, it would affect Ryuu's resting time.

Once he came back from the tour, Yuina planned to make more nutritious soups and other meals for Ryuu. He had to replenish all the energy he lost because of this time-consuming and energy-draining work.

Since Yuina didn't feel sleepy, she opened a reading app on her phone and chose one book. She might as well fill her time by doing something that she loved. Once Hiro woke up, they planned to go visit the local museum next.

Ring! Ring!

The sudden ringing of her phone startled Yuina. The screen changed from showing the web novel to a string of unfamiliar numbers. Even though Yuina was surprised, she still accepted the call because it was a call coming from a landline.

"Hello, Masuda is here," Yuina introduced herself by her maiden surname, "May I know who's there?"

A gruff-sounding man's voice came from the end of the line, "Hello, I'm sorry for disturbing you, Ms. Masuda. This is Inspector Fukui from XX Police Station. I'm calling on behalf of Mrs. Arakawa Shigeko. I've tried calling her son but no one answered."

The mention of the police station had already shocked Yuina, moreover when the inspector mentioned her aunt's name next.

"What's wrong with my aunt, Inspector Fukui? Did something happen to her?"

Although she didn't want to care about this aunt of hers, she was still Hiro's mother. Yuina couldn't possibly ignore if the woman fell into misfortunes.

"Please calm down, Ms. Masuda. It's like this, Mrs. Arakawa..."

Once the inspector finished explaining the details to Yuina, she immediately ran to Hiro's room. The boy was still sleeping soundly on the soft mattress.

"Please wait for us, Inspector. I and my cousin, my aunt's son would immediately go there. We're out of the city so we might arrive late. Please take care of my aunt," Yuina regretfully asked for the police's assistant.

"Of course. Please be careful on your way here. I'll call you if there's anything else," Inspector Fukui agreed.

Before the call was hung up, Yuina immediately grabbed Hiro's shoulders and shook him. Anxiousness tensed in between her brows at the sudden news.

"Hiro! Hiro! Wake up!"

After a few more shakes and slaps on the face, Hiro groggily opened his eyelids. In his daze, he felt weird to see Yuina's troubled face.

"What, Sister? ...I'm still sleepy," Hiro rubbed his eyes, "Let me sleep longer ah."

He thought he had just fallen asleep. Why did his sister wake him up so soon? Did something interesting happen?

"Go wash your face! We have to go back to the city soon! Your mother's with the police!"

Yuina threw orders at him while she was busy grabbing Hiro's belongings and stuffed them inside his bag. There was no other way. They had to check out of the resort today.

Her words managed to make Hiro wide awake.

"Haaa?!"

What... What???

His mother was with the police?

Under the confusion and the chaos, the two cousins quickly packed up their suitcases and immediately checked out at the counter. It was unfortunate but, they couldn't possibly return here again from the city after settling Hiro's mother's matter.

It would certainly be a hassle.

"Wait, Sister... You haven't explained to me what happens to Mom," Hiro complained as Yuina shoved him to the co-pilot seat.

"Get inside the car first."

Yuina rounded the car and sat behind the wheels. The confused Hiro could only listen to her orders.

Once the car left the compound of the farm resort, Yuina began to tell Hiro the incident that fell on his mother. She steadily drove the car on the main road heading to the expressway.

"One of the men came to Aunt. He said he knew you're behind the exposure of the affairs to their wives. He demanded the medical fee from Aunt but, Aunt retaliated by smashing a vase at him. I heard he was sent to the hospital next."

"What! How? Argh! That old scums I should have just..."

What followed next were curses coming from him.

"The inspector said it's a case of self-defense. Since that man has a record of blackmailing people, the police didn't side with him. Aunt is with the police just to record her statement," Yuina continued after Hiro finished cursing.

"That's why I said she should stop mingling with them! All of that old man's friends are crooks! When would she understand?"

Hiro slapped his own thighs in frustration.

"Relax. Don't agitate yourself," Yuina glanced at her brother. She felt sorry seeing his infuriated look, "Don't fight when you meet your mother later. Do you hear me?"

Although Hiro was mostly carefree and outgoing, the bad habits from his rebellious days were still there. He could be short-tempered if the situation called for it.

And, dealing with his family's matters was one of them.

"...Okay," Hiro had no choice but to agree.

He didn't want to trouble his sister but, in the end, it still happened.

They just had a short time having fun at the resort.. With this thing occurred, Hiro understood his sister might be embroiled in troubles again because of his family.
