Ashes and Kingdoms

4-3. Daylight

"Bandit exorcism... Brother Finn, is it dangerous?

In the orphanage garden, Mac leaned against the sword and said worryingly. Legion-powered sword with about a blade crossing from an adult elbow to his wrist, but practically a long sword for a small Mac. It is the shape of Igross that should be returned to the Legion, but Finn secretly kept it hidden. Because I don't know when I'll need it next, and most importantly, Nanais' memory seemed to be stained and it was hard to let go.

"That's right," Nellis, who was watching the two archeologists, pinched his mouth from the side.

"There might be more than just those guys' survival, right? Legion soldiers will be different in the woods, and maybe even Dark Beasts."

"That's why you can't ignore it."

Finn wiped the sweat off his forehead and put his sword in his sheath. Not to put it into words, but it is clear from that resolute attitude that he feels responsible for the five children. Mac glanced at him like he was stuck, chewing his lips and nagging. And tell him to roar slowly.

"I don't think I should say this... but really, that wasn't Brother Finn's fault. I was in Tetna like that, and sooner or later, everyone was starving to death. Even I'm responsible for not being able to take good care of the little ones. But in this day and age, I can't help it."

Mac looked up and stared at Finn as he tried.

"If you're just going to exorcise bandits because of a sense of responsibility, don't do it. I'm the only one who can't forget about those guys. You have to think more about your family."

"What are you trying to say?

"I mean... you're talking about the Winnean commander."

To Mac, who said relentlessly, Finn looked off with his eyebrows raised. but Mac didn't laugh. Continue with a dark look that doesn't fit your age.

"If I try that, all the survivors of Tetna are just blind and depressed. I might think about getting rid of the bandits and cleaning them up."

Finn frowned at the unpleasant allegations, but didn't say he was overthinking them. Nellis anxiously said, "What do you mean?" Ask. Finn and Mac looked at each other.

"Oh," Finn nodded with a depressing look. "That's possible. Tell him I'll lend his men to bandit exorcism, and in fact, I order him to kill us, too, after the bandits. That way, you can erase people who know the reality of Tetna and Nanais, and reduce the number of bandits. It's an operation that Dilgius is going to be happy with."

"No! No matter how much, there's no way a bad guy could be a commander."

Nellis shook her head stunned. I know how it feels, so Finn stroked Nellis' head off without saying anything. Until I saw myself and the behavior of the soldiers of Nanais... no, until I met Dilgius face to face in Winnea, and until Ancius let me down easily, I still had fantasies about something called the Legion.

Strict discipline and fighting with pride against citizens for honor, that was the Diatius Imperial Army - formerly.

"It would help if Dilgius was so stupid that he couldn't think of an operation like this on his own."

Finn joked and said, clapping his shoulders against the two men on his guide face. Mac smiles bitterly, and that doesn't help, returns the irony of giving up.

And there, a bright voice flew out of place.

"Mac! Oh, and Brother Finn! Look, look!

And, and a light, small footstep, Farnein rushes from the temple. Dressed in light peach new clothes, with a full smile on his face, he's like a flower spirit. The beautifully combed brunette does not knit together like a country child, but naturally flushes in addition to knitting only a portion thinly. The red of the ribbon brightened the deep green of the eyes.

"Farnayne! I didn't see you, I'm glad you look well"

Finn crouches down and strokes the girl's head. Farnayne proudly turned against her chest, twirling around and fluttering the hem of her clothes. It's too classy for an orphanage kid. When Finn realized about it and asked Nellis in the eye, she replied with a bitter smile.

"There's a guy who likes Farnayne, and he delivers a lot of things here. I think he's going to take it. I'm so jealous of the other girls."

When I heard that, I laughed haha, it was Mac.

"Even chicks are women."

"What the hell is that?" Nellis stares. "If you get clean clothes or delicious treats, you don't deserve to be happy. Hey?"

Nellis knelt down and tied the chest string back neatly as she spoke to Farnayne. Farnayne is clearly clear to the lady as if she took it for granted. Finn got a strange look with a smile on his face.

"Hey, Mac, Brother Finn, you look beautiful."

I'll give Farnayne another nod and a proper compliment, each of them nodding yeah. As the satisfied girl ran away looking for other admirers, the three looked at each other somehow, spilling a slightly distracted laugh.

"Well...... anyway, if Farnayne alone is to be picked up by a decent house, good. You don't have to break your vows."

Finn breathes in relief. When I was sure to protect him, I swore to Igross that I would take him somewhere safe. Just because he's dead doesn't mean he's rebellious until he swears.

"Discipline, Brother Finn."

Mac leaked a complicated voice. It seems impressive and frightening at the same time. Nellis also nodded seriously.

"That's right, my brother's a book, he's gonna be fucking serious and in trouble."

"Nellis, bad language"

Don't say shit, Finn stares softly. But of course, Nellis said, "You see?" He just bent his mouth. Mac laughs, and Finn shakes his head bitterly laughing at him, too.

"Damn...... the Apprentice Cleric's clothes are going to cry. I'm not asking you to be shy now."

"It's decent in public. Don't worry. Especially when visitors to the orphanage have to make a good impression. Because it depends on everyone's future."

That's it, Nellis clouded his face. Something went wrong, and as Finn tilted his little neck, Nellis looked around to make sure no one else was around, then lowered his voice and whispered.

"The truth is, I'm worried about you taking Farnayne. Something... weird. I know the priests and the others are doing the kids good. I don't know, it's like... it's just too Farnain."

Think and think, say as much as you do to explore words. Next to Finn, who frowned, Mac looked dazed.

"What, are you jealous of little ones, too? You can't help it, Farnayne is so cute."

"No, I'm not! I'm not, I don't know... I can't say it well. After we talked about wanting to pick it up, she just shrugged off, and yeah, it doesn't mean she's adorable, it seems like food and clothes are privileged, so..."

Yeah, well, Nellis shook his head. Finn was carefully rebelling against Nellis' words, but when a slight and unpleasant thought came to mind, the discomfort had crept up.

"... you mean like a sale"

To Finn, who told him to snap, Nellis snaps and then nods deeply. Mac caught my eye.

"Yes, but it is."

"Oh, it's no wonder people offered money for Farnayne if they wanted to pick it up. And in reality, there's more to it than just one person, a little quicker, and the orphanage would help if we could find a pickup, so it's not weird to try to make it look better and make foster parents like it."

Sometimes it happened in Nanais, and Finn shut his mouth. What's wrong with this cold weather when you're just stating the facts.

Nellis also held us with her shoulders closed, as if the sun had suddenly set.

"I hope you're overthinking it. She's happy, and I'm sorry if I ruined it by saying weird things, so I've been quiet."

Like anxiety contagious, Mac also treads softly.

"It's my fault. I saw that too... my uncle saw it a few times, but he didn't seem like a bad person. He was a kid lover and he seemed nice, so I'm sure he'll be fine."

"Right."

Finn also agreed in such a way that it was just a struggle to get over. but we all clearly understood that there was no basis there and that anxiety had not disappeared. At the same time, we don't have the power to do anything about it.

Finn made a huge stretch trying to change the atmosphere of the place.

"You're worried about me more than Farnayne. Trying to rest early today and feed your English so you don't get hurt by bandit exorcism"

"Brother... what you say stinks of my uncle"

I hope you're in good shape, but it's too much. Finn got sinister for real. Mac and Nellis twinkle and laugh carelessly. For Christ's sake, Finn shook his head, but eventually, we laughed together.
